Three step process with three tools: Your key fob, a Flathead screwdriver and a replacement battery. This process works with most Toyota key fobs dating from 2007 - 2018.

@@lsolidum8942 No. But if you open yours, you'll probably be able to determine the type, which is etched in the battery. Mine is not a CR2032

Step 2.5, take note of which direction the dead battery is facing before removing it.
You'd have to be awfully stupid to put the battery in facing the wrong way.
FYI you can use the key to pop out the battery the same way you used it to split the two halves of the FOB. No screwdriver required :)

Aloha. Thanks for the video instructions. I couldn't figure out how to change the battery so was going to stop by Toyota to have them change the battery and told myself "Wait a minute. There must be instructions on UA-cam." Lo and behold, used Google to get the link and your video popped up. Easy to follow instructions. Battery size and type is right on the battery itself - easy to buy at Walmart, Target, and most food stores. Thanks for saving me $$$.

The Tacoma Battery is a CR2032
My '14 Venza has a cr1632, while others are mentioning cr2032, so they may be different based on models.
Different models could be different. Though the one on this video looks exactly like mine.

My low tire pressure light is on all the time. It's a bad sensor. The dealership wants to change them all because the vehicle is at the age when the sensor battery goes bad. Can I disable it?

I do not have a Smart Key. I have an old 2009 key with a battery to open, doors, trunk and alert. I have no idea nor can I find how to replace the batteries anywhere. Please help.

I have a 2010 corolla and my key fob looks nothing like this one. Can anyone direct me to a vid on the type I have. One other thing to note about this video; make sure you observe the orientation of the battery before you remove it so you put the new one in correctly. Some people may not be familiar with these types of batteries?
On my 2019 Prius keyfob, there is no push icon. There is a slider to take out the key, and the key is used to open the shell. Then there is a cover over the circuit board to pry off, and the circuit board itself has to be pried out, using a pocket knife. It is a pain. When you get to the battery, there is a solid plastic piece of the frame holding it in, and it's not obvious how to get the battery out. I think your video should cover all the Toyota variants.

I can't open the key of my car
Mine is the 2017 Toyota Camry SE car key is not the same as the one you're referring to. It seems that it is easy for you, but your device does not concentrate more closely how you do it. What a shame.
Battery on new ones doesn't seat all the way in.
Watched this several times and still can't see how the key opens up the FOB. You need to zoom in on it so we can see it better.
You forgot to mention battery size

These instructions are not helpful for a 2019 RAV4 hybrid smart key fob which opens differently and who knows what battery it takes.
Drives me absolutely insane when someone creates a video, and then abandons it, never to return to care about the viewers of whom they made the video for. A shout out to the good people who stop and write to answer.

At the very least, add the battery type in the description.
Battery model varies by the type of fob you have. It seems that 2032 and 1632 are typical.
Useful but would be helpful if you got closer up so we could actually see what you’re doing.
