Offgrid Workshop Project Pt. 12 - Building a Workbench and Setting up Shelving in the Workshop

  • In this video we build a heavy duty wooden workbench for the workshop. We built it super solid so that it can hold up to all the work and abuse that it is going to get in the workshop. I also installed a brand new 8in vice on the workbench and I cant tell you how happy I was with how that all turned out. I also set up some nice shelving that I bought and began to organize all of my tools and equipment.
This was essentially the last of the workshop project, there are many little projects and additions that are yet to be done in the workshop that you will see in future uploads, mainly on the "On the Trapline Series."
Join my dog and I at our wilderness homestead in the Canadian North. This channel features videos on off-the-grid lifestyle and building, trapline adventures, hunting, fishing, trucks and much more!
I live off the land in a self reliant and self sufficient lifestyle. The land provides me with everything I need. My offgrid cabin is solar powered, heated by a wood stove and most everything I eat comes from the land; fish, eggs from my chickens, and many different wild game species. The lifestyle I live is essentially expense free and blesses me with the opportunity to do whatever I please.
In the winter months we head out on the trapline and ethically harvest fur bearing animals. Through moderate and sustainable methods I snare and trap these animals and work on, and sell the pelts at auction which provides a decent income for me to invest in my off the grid homestead and lifestyle.

I love watching your videos. It’s easy to believe you would be doing and saying the exact same things you do even if the camera wasn’t there.
So entertaining to watch. Post a PayPal or email so people can donate money without apple taking 30% of the original donation(any donation sent from an iOS device)and UA-cam taking 30% of what’s remaining, and then you get the final 40%….

I used to install commercial garage doors. I was thinking for hanging anything, but especially coyotes and such you could pick up 10 fet long sticks of perforated angle iron. In the States we use 1 1/4 inch or 2 inch and it has holes every inch and with 2 each 3/8" lags every 2 feet it will hold hundreds of pounds screwed thru the ceiling to the rafters. You probably already have a plan and may already have it done. Just a quick, easily modified, cheap way to hang stuff

Nice workshop, its been fun to watch the progress. Those are good shelves too. I have some like those that I've had for 10 years or so. The shelves are particle board and will sag over time so I just flip them over. I have been saving some scrap plywood to replace some of the worst sagging ones but haven't got around to it. Another thing I did was remove the bottom shelf particle board and front shelf support because I had a rat making a nest underneath. So I just sit heavier stuff on the ground there like buckets and whatnot. Just leave the side and back brackets on to make it sturdier. Great videos. Keep it up
