I am new to your channel but I love the fact that you are so particular with your work. It is nice to see someone not putting junk on the road. Great channel and thanks for sharing.
That hitch was probably to get under the hitch on the trailer. I’d imagine being that mobile homes don’t come on and off of a truck a ton of times hitch jacks are not a huge priority. That and you could drop the hitch down real low then put blocking under the rear of the mobile home then lift the front, block it and then drop the whole thing on your blocks. Pretty cool.
If the Milwaukee is not the brushless version it may have hung brushes. Something that can happen when you heat up the motor good, the brushes can stick to commutator. I've had it happen before. Usually you can remove the brushes and reinstall and it will run again. Though for the best fix deglazing/cleaning the comm and new brushes is best. If you need the tool you have to get it going sometimes.
Nice rig...I really like the hitch on the back...it makes a big difference in what you can pull. Gonna keep it? The Series 60 should be a good engine. I have one in my 9670 Walmart truck.😃
Nice that at least they are breaking down fair. You ain't gonna believe this but Jonathan and his wife went cat fishing!!! Man works like you, endlessly. Cecil Skinner is getting close to a home, and his poor girl of his working in all that snow and she is just happy as heck. I guess I don't have it so bad. We have had one hot year here. Wet for years and now it is so hot at night that can't sleep. Full blown diabetic now is what they claim so they will get my legs yet, still wrapped and miserable. I lost my only brother in april so haven't been doing much. I enjoyed the video but wish I could still turn tools but watching you I guess will have to work for me Later JC and the Mrs
Not very often when I see these videos do people have the right tools I've been doin tires like that for about ten years one suggestion I have for you flip the bar over so the bump there is against the rim and i would invest in a straight spoon bar itll go much easier for you i hope you see my suggestions
I have a columbia as a toy hauler my retired fleet truck.. best truck i own. The d60 is the best motor created in my opinion. 1.3 million original on it and no blow by or hiccups
Nice ride, after you give it a little love, it will find a new home quick! Too bad about your 1/2" Milwaukee going bad, isn't that the 2nd one that failed you? Work safe, stay cool.... Doug@ the "ranch"
Hey J.C greetings from Cleveland! I was curious where you sell most of your stuff at? I mean is it like eBay or Facebook or Craigslist? Or something else?
J C I have a question for you. Why is it when you walk around with the camera you only show the ground? Is this on purpose or do you not mean to? Love the videos. Thanks Ray
You might be interested to know I removed those 22.5's from my truck. As you know, that's no easy task. I'm selling them because they were just too big and rubbed in more places than one. Too bad, they looked cool but nope, it was a fail. If you need almost new wheels and tires let me know. :)
Yeah not much left of those tires that is for sure, got to say the for the work you put the Milwaukee thru, she sure has been worth the money... but lets have a moment of silence for the old one and a hurrah for the soon to be new to you repaired one.. When it comes to old tires unless those will get retreaded, my tire recycler doesnt care if the come in one piece or ten when I have some that are that bad I just take the sawzall and zip... but I will say one thing though if JC got ganged up on by a bunch of tires in a dark alley, my money is on JC to kick their butts...lol you must have slept like bear after all that,
i was tired after that day. i did 4 other tire dismounts also. they repaired my milwaukee but it took them 4 weeks from the time i dropped it off until i got it back.
@@j.c.smithprojects 4 weks..whoa! No wonder you went and got a second one, that'sa long time to be without a tool you use a lot. I mean yeah you can take out the compressor and line and use a corded air tool, but it sure is nice to have the cordless impact when your are doing stuff at home and away, its nice not having to drag around airlines at times
There is a bunch of steel in the tires, especially the bead which is right next to the wheel. To cut through everything you'll end up cutting the wheel and taking a lot more time vs spooning the tire off.
@@D4x4Bronc I know that. But theres better. They make kits to install on a 1 ton diesel even a gas truck that supplied by the trucks engine vs having to loose bed space and carrying another type of fuel onboard. You can plumb up the truck to having all 4 corners with an air chuck or simply put a real right under the deck or in the box. Much easier and cleaner then a bolted down air compressor.
It might have a lot of miles on it but if it's been used for moving mobile homes, at least in its most recent life, then it hasn't worked particularly hard at all so there should be plenty of life left in it...
I'm a commercial tire technician/mechanic and watching you change them tires made me cringe lol. You need to buy a golden tire tool that works for 22.5 and 24.5 but not so good for 17.5s. I can literally dismount and mount a hard sidewall super single from start to finish in less than 5 minutes.
@@j.c.smithprojects Never said it was "hard to watch" I said it makes me cringe because it makes me think about the many many many times doing it the way you're doing it here and I hate doing it that way lol. I'm just spoiled with the golden tools, yes they're very expensive tools but I'm just trying to pass on some good advice to make things easier on you. Anyways I'm always enjoying your vids keep it up brother.
Craig the farmer All the new drivers use the clutch like a car. They rev up the motor and let the clutch out. Should not have to do that. Let the clutch out slow at idle and it will start the truck rolling. Rookies!
@@mfreund15448 I am only 23 but was trained on the farm how to drive by a old fella so this blows my mind looks like that would make unnecessary clutch wear
You are one heck of a Rubber Wrestler. I know people who pay for crossfit, and don't get the workout you do everyday! Bravo!!
I struggled with dismounting these tires from the rims. it was hot, humid and i was tired when i was done.

My brushless had a switch go out. It was replaced under warranty.
Freightliner Columbia is the best truck owner operator can buy. Bought a 2006 in 2013 with 750k miles on it and still running like a champ.

I use my 4 ft breaker bar to get them cracked then I go to an impact . Saves your gun and batteries.
I just let her smack lol ..warranty

these tires were difficult to say the least....or i was too tired by the time i got to these ones. i have done a bunch before these.
Man you need to get you a golden tire tool... makes the work so much easier
I bought the Gaither tool version it was a lot less expensive. It works just as well, get the mounting bar also it works good too.
@@benharmon4207 lol I dont have my own my shop bought two of the real deals...I've also heard about the cheaper one being just as good

this was the first one to fail. the replacement i bought was defective also. it returned it and they exchanged it right on the spot.
I was wondering about the fuel consumption bobtail. I assumed you drove it home bobtail.
it did ok bobtail. i put about 40 gallons in it.
Very nice Tractor
Yepper--whomever towed it from the rear didn't pick it up far enough. Every bump in the road it dragged.
Looks like you’ve change a tire or two before, lol. Nice truck, looks good with the steel wheels
Food deal! Glad to see some big rigs!
i have quite a few more rigs to work on....just have not got to them yet.
Jc what's up buddy. Keep up the great videos
That looks like an old ryder truck judging by that warning tag on the bottom of the driver's door seal
Josh Barton I know nothing about trucks but on the mud flaps it said freightliner
Did you put the steel wheels at 13:55 on that truck ? Those were budds.
Sucks that they left you the crap tires, that just cost you money to get rid of ! Did Milwaukee ever replace that gun ?
for the price he gave me on the truck.....it was not an issue. i just got the gun back after 4 weeks.

Why are you using a battery powered impact when you are at the shop where you could use your pneumatic impact?????????
because the battery impact will do it!

There is a bunch of steel in the tires, especially the bead which is right next to the wheel. To cut through everything you'll end up cutting the wheel and taking a lot more time vs spooning the tire off.
Chris Grosser because that is a lot of steel and rubber right there, it would take you ten times as long to cut them off.
@@sdvten Fair enough. Thank you
Not to mentioned burned rubber as you cut it is not very pleasant and probably not good for you to inhale either.
You should look at the one inch cordless Milwaukee fuel gun
i have looked at it but am having trouble justifying over $900 for gun, batteries and charger
