There actually isn't that much that was able to be hidden as far as their experiments go. They were dedicated to their 'research' and took meticulous notes and measurements that they intended to keep forever because they thought, especially before 1945, that they would win the war and never suffer a victor's justice. Also, the scientists gave their 'research' up so they wouldn't be prosecuted as war criminals and they got so many that we have a comprehensive idea of what they were doing.

It breaks my heart to think that these people had to suffer like this. My most sincere condolences and prayers to all families and relatives of the victims and survivors of this horrible event.
One of the victims was a 16 year old girl, that’s absolutely heart wrenching. My niece is 16, if anyone ever tried to hurt her I would have a hard time keeping myself from ripping them apart. I can’t even begin to imagine how anyone could ever harm a little girl, especially as grievously as their insidious experiments did.
Sadly, children younger than 10 were used in awful, grotesque operations without anesthesia. Disgusting waste of human life. Those poor babies are all angels now, I hope.
My dads side of the family is Ashkenazi Jewish, and they were involved in the camps. Only my dada grandfather made it, and his 9 sisters and 2 brothers both died at Dachau. My dads grandfpa managed to escape on a boat to New York, and so thats what ended up happening. It's so heartbreaking to see this. Rest in power to all of the victoms.

The memory of the victims and all those who suffered during that time should be honored and never forgotten. It's important to learn from the past so that we can prevent similar atrocities from happening in the future. My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family.
There was this woman who used to have a twin and they both took part in the twin experiment, luckily they both survived till the end of World War II. But years later her twin got kidney problems, they went to see a doctor and were shocked to see that her kidneys were still as small as a 12 year olds.

Doctors still do illegal experiments on people look up what a company named pfizer did to children in africa and how they tried to cover it up like 6 years ago
During one lesson, my high school teacher told us about her former teacher who survived the concentration camp and was experimented on. She had her bones repeatedly broken so the doctors could see how the bones fusion process looked like. She was very short due to those experiments. I can not even think how much pain those people came through and most of them, if they didn't die, were left disfigured. I visited Auschwitz this week, very chilling place.
Wow. I'd be interested in seeing the medical reports on her from after the war. After all I'm sure she was treated thoroughly and there is ample medical evidence to validate this story so we know it's not just some made up story to get financial compensation. I'm sure this shouldn't be a problem and should be relatively easy to get ahold of.
My father visited one of the camps in the 50s when my grandfather was a Canadian army peace keeper and he lived in germany for a while. It must have been surreal to see it that soon after when the blood had barely dried
Theres not a lot that I hear that disturbs me anymore, but this video did. I cant even imagine the pain and suffering these people endured. Just a complete tragedy.
Really trying to realize that all of that actually happened to humans like you and me is almost unimaginable. How much suffering they went through. My great uncle died in a concentration camp every time I imagine him stepping into the gas chamber I’m done for.
You kno... there was this little thing called "slavery"... that happened in America... for about 400 years? Not to mention all the lynching and killings that took place thereafter.
whenever I hear of things like this, my heart just feels so heavy. during WW2, my grandmother (Romani) was almost taken to camp when she was a little girl. she passed away this year, I miss her more than anything, she was and will forever be my best friend.
This makes me sick. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of pain these poor people were put through and it makes me unfathomably angry that some of these "doctors" never saw even a night of prison time or punishment for what they did. Heck, some were even recruited by other countries to do work for them.

Eva Kor. She was a Holocaust twin experiment survivor. I met her in June of 2019, one month before she passed. I traveled to her museum (in Indiana, USA) and sat in an audience of maybe 100 people that listened to her story and saw the museum, documenting the Holocaust and her journey. Her twin sister, Miriam and her were experimented on in Auschwitz when she was a little girl. Her sister died there and she managed to survive. Many, many years later she forgave the monsters that did these things to her. She met one of the doctors at the camp, 50 some years later, and shook his hand and she said “I forgive you.” “Forgiveness is a seed for peace. Anger is a seed for war.” - Eva Kor.
Eva had three sisters. Two were killed in the gas chambers. Her twin sister, however, actually did not die in Auschwitz. They both survived the camp. Her sister Miriam died in 1993 and Eva in 2019.
Thank you so much for talking about the Romani's persecutions! All too often my people are overlooked by history. Genocide and slavery has been committed against us several times and all I can hope is that it won't happen again, yet I hold my breath.

This experiment was also conducted by the japanese empire to korean/chinese/russian captives. One of the most famous korean poet was sacrificed by this experiment.
They’re completely right saying that history will repeat itself if we do not study and learn from it, and work to prevent things like this from happening in the future. It’s incredibly important that as many people as possible learn about horrible things like this

Haha you'd be the lucky one if you lived in one of the English countries, it's the opposite way around. Hopefully people don't discriminate as much to you anymore.
My friends grandfather was a twin experiment survivor. He was in a concentration camp with his cousin who looked very similar to him and they thought that if they were to say that they were twins they would be experimented on and then released which was not the case but eventually the war ended and they were released.
Just a note, they NEVER used anesthesia. For ANY of the surgeries. Just imagining the pain that they went through is horrifying. RIP to the millions of victims of the camps. Truly unfathomable amounts of pain and torture, truly sickening. Although, we learned many new things about the human body. They found out using unwilling human test subjects, which is awful and never should've happened. But it's undeniable that many medical breakthroughs were discovered through these torture experiments, some more valuable than others. Probably the biggest was an experiment of sewing two twins together like Siamese twins. They survived 3 days and died a painful death. This lead to a Russian scientists who did the same with dogs, which survived for a little bit longer. But THIS lead to a man from South Africa who heard about both of these experiments, and completed the first successful Heart transplant, which has saved countless lives. That's just one thing, it's still beyond evil and wrong what they did, but it wasn't for no reason at all. Still no excuse
Worst? Lol you have no idea. I had family, who have now passed, who stopped growing finger and toe nails because the British pulled them out so many times just so they could take out intel about other revolutionaries. Atleast Germany pays reparations to Israel.
In order to prevent history from repeating itself we mustn't look at the horrors and look down on the people of the past, but try to understand how normal people could end up doing such things!
It's very simple, person in power takes a group of scientists, say if they do not aid in the experiments they will become subjects of such experiments.
Rest In Peace all the people who died in pain and suffering in those camps. We’ll always remember you, and the pain you had to endure. And to the survivors, you people are some of the bravest and strongest people out there, surviving the torture and telling your story and giving awareness to not let history repeat itself.
Nah, it wasn't next to a lumber mill. But they told the surrounding population that the Unit itself was the lumbermill, that's why they called them logs.
Jesus… you have to be a psychopath to do these types of things to people and not feel any remorse. I’m just amazed at how many there were in Germany at the time. It’s really hard fathom.
I think your understand of psychology seems to be very basic. 🤔 The same people wich are moralizing are phantasizing about cutting rapists dicks of. I recommend some basic university lectures about what humans are capable of. And it’s the naive people which don’t accept their ability to do really dark things to others.

True it was worse overall but keep in mind that tens of millions of people are currently starving or in other ways in terrible suffering and there are still concentration camps in several countries
it really gives me chills to have seen the concentration camp in Dachau and knowing that this was what many there had to go through, when the conditions there were barely survivable to begin with…. and knowing that it still wasn’t one of the big ones…
I visited The Dachau Concentration Camp in 1972. My gap year, fresh out of high school. To this day I still clearly see the rooms and equipment used where the experiments took place - and printed information on the types of experiments being done. The housing dorms had maybe 10 inches of headroom between the bunks. The “showers” mode my stomach turn as did the ovens. Actually the whole experience has been life changing.
Man I thought humanity evolved from medieval torture but ofc it’s the nazis. Killing innocent people is already disgusting but making them suffer a days long death in pain is more than evil
How is it the Nazis had zero empathy? Hearing this, I'm imagining these things happening to myself and how terrible, scary and painful it would be. Did these psychos not think about that? Like, "What if this were me or my loved ones?"... Total barbarity. But I also totally agree that we need to study history and know what happened in gruesome detail so we know the terrible things that happened in the past and can at least try to prevent them in the future. The second these terrible events are censored is the second we start down these paths again.
People back then, especially on the East side of the world, had very little regard for human life. And it seems the further East you go the less regard for life there is. They just don't have the same mentality as people today. They lived in a different world.
Sometimes i feel actually there is No GOD in this world else these atrocities wouldn't happened to Jews..because of such type of crimes Germany to be penalized for life time..
The head injury one makes me sick. After suffering a TBI from being hit by a car I lost my memory for two weeks and it took me months to heal fully. That was after only one hit. I can’t imagine being hit with a hammer every few seconds, absolutely depraved and disgusting.
That kid definitely died, they say it’s really repeat hits that do the most damage. If he survived the hammer no way he was cognizant enough to keep himself alive. Wtf was that evil scientist even trying to test, that’s just pure torture I can’t think of any application for that. Yeah I have three concussions/tbi I think
I was working out my arms listening to this and had to stop because my arms started to feel weak after hearing the story about the kid and the hammer and onwards. How can people be so cruel and how can they ever stand doing that to another person????
A couple days ago I had to get some blood drawn from my arm, I was so scared when they pulled out this little tiny needle, I can't imagine having to go through what these people had to.. Rest in piece to all that died
My great-great uncle was among those that suffered experiments at Auschwitz. He had three separate surgeries. While it was never made clear to my generation what exactly was removed he somehow managed to survive. He lived on in communist Poland for eight years after the war until he passed. I don't know if it was a result of the experiments or just old age that led to his demise. He was the oldest sibling in my great-grandmother's generation and she passed in the late 70s.
@@0accipiters0 It's pretty common for those whom were in the thick of fighting or suffering an extremely traumatic experience to not want to casually bring up their experiences. This is especially true around children. I mean he was comfortable telling his sister, my great-grandmother, but she was a middle aged woman by the end of the war. They were places where human life was worth less than cattle, beasts of burden or test subject animals. The propaganda campaign had been so masterfully tailored that to those transporting, processing & dealing with those in most of the concentration camps viewed them with complete apathy or even contempt. That side of my family was famous, or notorious, depending on who you ask. During the occupation of Poland leading up to the Great War they were very active in coordinating smuggling of goods, hiding political dissidents, conducting sabotage & organizing civil unrest. When the family was outed as a linchpin in causing so many problems for all the occupiers in the 1890s both the German & Russian authorities put a bounty out on my great-great grandfather's head as well as those of his children. It was at that point that my great-great uncle, my great-grandmother's brother, smuggled both of his sisters out of Poland. The younger of the two settled in Paris France, married a Frenchman & she opened a restaurant there. My great-grandmother was newly married to a fellow Pole & together they emigrated to the United States. The streets weren't paved in gold & it certainly wasn't the promised land they'd believed. Polish immigrants were a dime a dozen at that time & companies had such a workforce glut that they could hire them for mere peanuts. My great-grandfather died from black lung in the 40s from his work in the coal mines. My great-great grandfather died during the Great War which left my great-great uncle as the inheritor of the family in Poland. I know he married & had children but I know nothing about what became of them. During the Invasion of Poland he had joined a volunteer defense force. He didn't leave the country when the unit was dissolved. Despite being in his 50s or 60s, he became a part of the "Armed Struggle," smuggling people out of Poland, smuggling arms & participating in the partisan activities. They captured him in the autumn of 1941. Meanwhile, at the same time in France, my great-great aunt had chosen to become involved in the French Resistance. I can't say her motivations were as noble from a certain perspective. By war's end she'd become filthy rich through being so heavily involved in the black market that was so prevalent in occupied France. There's no way she could've gotten that wealthy without feeding valuable information or contraband to the Germans as well as the Resistance. That wealth was still readily apparent in the early 80s when her grand-daughter came to visit us in California. She went on such a lavish shopping spree while there that everything she bought had to be crated up in two large wooden crates to be shipped back to France. She seemed genuinely surprised by how common her cousins had turned out to be. This resulted in her having a very condescending "look down her nose" attitude towards us. I was very young then but it left a very deep impression.
When the worst people in history gathered together to perform the worst acts of evil upon others, they say history repeats itself, I just hope that we have evolved enough to the point that it doesn't...
I knew that the twin experiments were going to be in the #1 spot. It’s heart breaking. For those of you who hate history and think that we shouldn’t learn it, we learn it so that we don’t repeat history. So that everyone can learn from the mistakes and tragedies of the past so that it doesn’t happen again.
I doubt that no anesthesia was used. Maybe it wasn't used on everyone but they still had to use it to some extent. You can't study the effects of a medical procedure on a subject(s) if they all die from shock. Some of the experiments were done to save their own soldiers so unless they planned to operate on their own soldiers without anesthesia, there would be nothing to gain.
and your proof is? How about holding the west and US responsible for killing civilians by a mistake?? now that’s one thing we have a proof . stop believing everything you see and hear from western propaganda media.
Every year we take our 8th graders to DC(obviously not in the year of Covid). We tour the Holocaust Miseum, and typically there are one or two survivors there in an open forum taking questions, and every time my students make me proud at how into it they are (albeit horrified by what happened). What saddens me is that this experience is unfortunately drawing to a close. Sooner than later there will be no more survivors to tell their stories to the thousands of students (and other members of the public) who flock to the museum every year. My grandad once told me when I was young (he fought in the western front) that one day it will be up to us to make sure no one ever forgets and subsequently allows this to happen again. He passed in 1994…I hope we can all make him and those he served with proud by keeping this memory alive so that it NEVER repeats…
Not only is it hard to realize this really happened, its even harder to realize that some outcomes of these experiments really helped our knowledge in the medical field which we benefit up to this day.
Actually although tattooed skin was preserved AND the press said Else Koch wife of the Buchenwald Kommandant made lampshades etc NO SUCH EVIDENCE WAS EVER BROUGHT TO TRIAL.

Many, many years later she forgave the monsters that did these things to her. She met one of the doctors at the camp, 50 some years later, and shook his hand and she said “I forgive you.”

Canadian army tested mustard gas on some of their soldiers, my great uncle was one of them.
I've heard what mustard gas does to a person and it doesn't sound pleasant. Also I'm Canadian

Anybody who hasn’t should read about Japan’s Unit 731... Some of the things they did appalled the Nazis...
731 was very comparable to the experiments the nazi's were doing in concentration camps. Usually the same types of experiments with similar goals.
My grandfather survived and escaped and he used to tell us stories about his time there. He dies 2 years ago rest in peace grandpa
