I always took the sak can opener for granted, untill the time I really needed to use it, then I realized I had no idea how it works. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for your video sir I forgot that the majority of people in Switzerland are left-handed and that all the knives are designed that way you just made my life so much simpler
First, thank you for the video. Second, if you watch the videos by mr. Sak himself, Felix Immler you will find that he uses the can-opener going the opposite direction. He also shows a good technique where he can get a larger Cannon what you're doing right now open in 10 seconds or less. I'm not saying this to criticize you I'm just letting you know that there are people that do it very successfully going the opposite direction. I am one of those people.
🤦♂️Don't learn if you don't know how to use it yourself. It is necessary to open the jar counterclockwise, the knife for this direction is made. And then the edge will be perfectly even.
That would put the bevelled part to the rim. It´s kind of like the tool wants to tell the user how it wants to be used. Could we appreciate the effort that went into a tutorial with an even chance to get it right and still get it wrong. For a right handed person cutting clockwise is somehow awkward.
@@maxlutz3674 I'm left handed. So I do go( for what I find) the awkward way around to enable the can opener to cut a can open the most effective way. But I do get your point entirely about the effort that would go into making and posting a video. However if it's not giving the best instruction then I can't see a problem with commenting and correcting on that. Anti clockwise is the best direction, that's all. No biggie. Just started raining here in Cornwall, you?
@@c.d.3485 It sure is Ok to point out a flaw in the instructions. The can opener is designed to cut on the front where the edge is. That causes a preferred rotation depending on which hand you use. For a right handed person it is indeed anti-clockwise. I am ambidextrous and I do not find it awkward to cut clockwise using the left hand. FWIW Victorinox also has a combi can opener/ bottle opener cutting (kind of, sort of) on the inner side. That reverses the best direction. It is still sunny in Frankonia. Life is amazing.
I never thought I would see the day when someone had to make a video explaining how to use a can opener. I am so sad for the state of humanity right now.
What are you talking about? They are trying to explain what a woman is nowadays. If you’re a boomer, then you’re like me, the last of a dying breed. Teach everything you can to the next generation, they’ll need survival skills that we call basic knowledge.
I still think my mod is better ? Video: victorinox, explorer, huntsman, farmer, climber screwdriver can opener mod. But to be fair i didn't realise you go the opposite way ? Seems to be left handed to what i would imagine?

@@Bushcraft2survival having that style of portable can opener you have is better than nothing, but the best compact portable can opener is the P-51 Military style can opener. The brand I like is the COGHLAN'S because it is made of strong carbon steel with a rust-proof nickel coating on it.

So am I. But I also prefer Wenger's can opener.

Thank you dude!
thank you too and thanks for watching
You know when you find a video that answers the exact question you had in your head? this is spot on.
thank you and thanks for watching
It's the only can opener i use.
You went the wrong way round the can.
Go anti clockwise, not clockwise.
It's easier and gives a cleaner cut
Das ist korrekt! Ich muss ihnen Recht geben! Es sah im Video komisch aus! Ich musste mir erstmal ein Messer holen. Zur Kontrolle.

Just googled Frankonia. Somewhere in Germany? it showed lots on the map.
Wow! I've been doing it wrong for 50 years. I'll try it your way next time.
Clockwise, eh? I did not know that. Thank you for making me a little smarter today!
thank you and thanks for watching
Go other way to get a very smooth safe cut! Just saying! Lol😊
I'll be honest I've never used the can opener on my SAK. I would have done it wrong. thanks for the Video!

Totaly wrong. You must not go clock wise but against the clock. Tip from swiss soldier.
Don't just yell "wrong" :(
This person took time out of their short precious life to try and help people. Try and be kind♡ please
The knife is going clockwise but pay attention to the can 😊 thanks for watching

@MouManTai thanks but it doesn't bother me. I'm just glad they watched and commented cause at the end of the day to worked for me
Prefer p38
Не надо ворочить, воткнул и крути банку, так намного быстрее и край ровный!!
Yeah, no. Try doing that with a thicker model.

Prove it mines work
Сначала научись пользоваться ножом,вернее приспособлением для открывания консервов жестяных и стеклянных банках, а потом снимай ролик.
👍👍👍👍👍
🤣🤣 you 😂🤣 tell me more
Thank you
