👍👏Thank you for this. You are the first & only person to remind us to wash the items first. It’s always important to do this but maybe MORE so when we’re doing it this way (without a nifty canopener). Recently I lost my can opener, which was the kind I really like cause it leaves zero sharp edges!👏🥳 {{{they don’t even cost a lot more & so worth it😉}}}
In regards to Swiss Army Knives can opener styles of the Wenger lobster claw versus the Victorinox D shaped cutter, there is also a third style which is the Victorinox Combo Tool which combines a can opener, a bottle cap lifter and a screwdriver. Watch all three can openers demonstrated @ ua-cam.com/video/O0bX6gqKNmk/v-deo.html.
The Victorinox engineering is far superior as an "anvil style" can opener tool. I have seen the design on a cheap clone increased by only 1mm and it is this precise DESIGN that's what's it. I will concede this: on smaller tool sets, the 'lobster claw' design might be more effective as like a toothpick or pry tool or torture device.
Your problems with the first can opener can be solved by using the tool correctly. Take smaller bites with the can opener so that the start of the cut overlaps the end of the previous cut.

I saw a guy use the counter clockwise method but pushed the can around the blade in one continuous motion and was Quick as heck to open the can.
I used to think victorinox had the best can opener, but when I actually got a Wenger and tried it, I liked it quite a bit better.
After watching many videos , you are the only one that cleans the can top and cutter which is great . Concise and straight to the point . 12/22

You can do shorter, quicker, punches with the Victorinox and it makes it faster and easier. Takes a little practice.

I found the crab claw to be much easier, but I’m not using them both to open a lot of cans
