craziest thing about Chester is his life is literally the verbal truth of male mental health crisis. he wrote and sang 100 suicide notes and sang them raw for 20 years and then when he killed himself we all looked shocked because "nobody's listening"
Agreed, he was suffering in silence for so long. RIP man.
IMO, I wouldn't say he was writing these songs as a cry for help. Yes, he was struggling due to his childhood. However, his family and the band helped him thru a lot. He was even sober for very long. The band wrote these songs for people feeling the same way and to help them realize that they aren't alone. Depression, however, never truly leaves us and his best frnd passing away pushed him over the edge. This shouldn't be seen as a cry for help but as a beacon for all the lost souls.
This
Unfortunately, think about it, if someone is thinking about and then "does" take his or her life, it's their freewill to do it and we can't control them. Ask yourself, do you want to be controlled?
Stop using him to push victim mentality. People close to him cared and tried to help.
"What the f**k is wrong with me" is a question thousands of us ask ourselves on a daily basis. Some of us never get the answer, which makes us feel colder and unheard even more.
Guilty
We’re all perfectly imperfect. I wish he could have fought through it. He had such a big heart. He saved so many yet couldn’t save himself. RIP❤️
The truth of the matter is, all but a handful of people are living outside their natural habitat. We evolved to live as hunter-gatherers, or in small communities. Even early cities very likely had a lot of community involvement. But now, we're like gorillas in a zoo. A gorilla in our local zoo (which has won awards for its treatment of animals) still has problems of their gorillas having stress issues.
One has a problem where they pick, pick, pick at their skin and cause sores.
The type of mind that is capable of happily living in this unnatural environment might very well be a mind that wouldn't have done so well any time before 500 years ago. Or, they happen to have just bypassed by luck a lot of the major issues.
I am autistic. A lot of autistic people do think that our difference would not be a disability in a more natural habitat (except maybe those with extreme sensory issues). Kids going to school and being raised all day by people with very little interaction with the kids, by people who may care about the kids, but who don't know them and can't love them as their own. Raised by people who are restricted by policy or even law from showing affection or even having the time to do so, is a very obvious and blatant example of our unnatural environment.
Anthropologists will tell you that a large part of the energy spent in any society is raising and teaching the young, but throughout most of time, it was the family of the children doing the education (very consciously and actively educating) and they did so with love and affection, and with having a direct vested interest in the endeavor. (it is impossible to spell "endeavor" without spell check.)
Kids are left bereft, and every generation sees more and more neglect, abuse, and very bad parenting, due to how they themselves were raised.
We have lead, plastic, and BPA poisoning. We don't get nearly enough sleep and most of us have shit diets.
THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH US.
Now THIS is a fucking reaction mashup. Actually transitioning back and forth between the reactors DURING the song instead of just doing them one at a time and constantly rewinding the song. Well fucking done.
😊💜
This song decades later still has me in the fetile position crying my eyes out knowing I think exactly like he does and when am I finally gonna snap the way he did
I fully encourage you to assume the fetal position and cry whenever you need to with no shame. That emotion is energy that needs to be expended and processed as not to build up inside of you.
Please don't snap like he did. Survive. You need to survive whatever it is that has you feeling this way. It will be your best teacher and best healer in life. I'm not sure how old you are but life evolves over time in ways I never imagined. 💜
I listened to Linkin Park a lot growing up.
I felt like I always understood what Chester was saying, but it was only after his death that I finally understood what he meant.
❤ The voice of an angel and a demon combined. RIP Chester ❤
This song still fucks me up. Iv never heard a clearer scream for help, and yet everybody just cheered it. RIP Chester.
I was fortunate to experience the 18 seconds live over 20 times in my life. I still rock Linkin Park to this day and was gutted when he took his own life. R.I.P Chester
Had the privilege to see them live. One of the best bands ever
Chester is smiling from above as he watches these people witness his incredible voice and music he produced with Linkin Park❤ RIP Chester we miss and love you😢
Absolutely insane, I was listening to your reactions all day and I literally thought to myself 'I wonder if she will ever do Linkin Park'
More from LP please
💬This one was tough for obvious reasons. I did not want the video to be too heavy as the song, in and of itself, is intense enough. I also did not want to ignore the fact that Chester Bennington is gone. I hope I found a balance, if such exists.
I left a quote at the end of the video that I find myself telling many people. That trauma and hardships have been my best teachers in life… bar none. Surviving them has evolved me into a stronger, more adaptable and well-adjusted human being in the reality of this world we live in. But it was never fucking easy and residual anxiety remains to this day.
Most of the time, depression is something that can be overcome. As life evolves, as we evolve, things change and we change. Having said that, I know in some cases, it’s not quite that simple. Trauma can literally change the makeup of the brain which can affect us for the rest of our lives. I believe Chester was probably one of those people.
I’m thankful that we all had him for the time that we did and hopefully, whatever happens after we leave this life, he is free from it all. I will continue to enjoy his time with the band as well as present day Linkin Park. They are all great musicians. Even if you don’t like their music, you can appreciate their contributions to music innovation.💜
If you're looking for another amazing, fairly unknown song by this band... listen to "Roads Untraveled" ua-cam.com/video/KLgQKiUk7ms/v-deo.htmlsi=p54-E8Q-aENuQ7jh
man, those multi cuts were an absolute delightful surprise. well done.
Thank you, @@shotaholic1 ! 💜
It was perfect as always. Sad that we lost Cornell and Chester so close to each other.
The photo is an icon to me that hurt personified is me so many it will make realize "me" and "us"
Awesome mashup & tribute
RIP Chester
I'm also diagnosed with Major Depression. Although I never wanted to die , I've come close a few times.
This hits like a truck 💔
So easy to see it now but Chester left a lot of suicide notes 😢
Sad 😭😭
He scream for help
As did Chris Cornell…
@jcech73 You're absolutely right. As soon as I posted this comment that's what I thought, too. There's definitely some Soundgarden and Audioslave songs that hit me differently now.
Dude on the top right was losing his shit and I love it 😂
That's @daveeezy184 ! He had an incredible reaction to this song!
Amazing job by Chester on this vocal fry that will live in infamy forever! No one can hold it like him!
check andy cizek cover of this song he can do it and do the last bridge higher
I have commented a few times already but Linkin Park is without a doubt the band that represents a lot of what I am and what I went through as an abused child.
I remember when Hyrbid Theory first dropped and they were chalked up to one hit wonders, mind you they already had a few hits under their belt but whatever.
I remember when they dropped single after single, they got moderate coverage but it wasn’t until “In The End” when people paid attention.
I remember when I was in high school there were a few bands I predicted had what it took to keep going and Linkin Park was one of them. I kept telling my friends that they needed to keep an eye on them because they were obviously not one hit wonders. I was thought of to be crazy.
But I was absolutely right. As single after single was dropped from Hybrid Theory, I knew and felt they had staying power. I don’t know what it was specifically but I knew even in high school that they were a force to be reckoned with.
In case anyone is interested there were a few others but the one I remember specifically telling me friends that they were going to be big was Gorillaz.
Now mind you unlike Linkin Park, Gorillaz was supposed to be a one hit wonder. If memory serves, they were labeled simply as an experiment.
However, I did feel that they had more going for them than other bands. Not just because they were animated but because they were animated they could touch on more genres than an any other band.
It’s nice to know I was right.
I love how you went to a blank screen right before “I’ve given up and from a blank screen before the scream to all of the reactors. Beautiful job ❤
The ones you want love & recognition from, take you for granted because you're there everyday. Head demons are deeper than fame. The man is at peace now. RIP Chester.❤
Rip Chester 😢 I need you
Where do I even start Wondermomma... the scream ... that scream of help and despair... frustration...wanting to end it all...the pain... that song resonated then and even more now... so many scream with pain yet are never heard... we heard you Chester... yet the pain overtook you... despite the love around you...please anyone out there if you feel the misery of depression and can't seem to find the light... scream! Scream it out to the world... someone will answer...❤
We miss you Chester ♥
Best one yet, momma. Excellent work. I don’t know how many times watched the sixteen reactors during the scream. It was much more emotional than I anticipated. Thank you for this one.
I've listened to Linkin Park since 2006, on & off in the early 2010's, & was very lucky to see them in concert around 2009. Hearing this song before he passed, especially during my teen years, I felt like I wasn't alone because Chester wrote exactly what I was feeling & sang it the same way too. Hearing it afterwards is devastating, & I wish he was still here with us. One of the best vocalists of the 21st century, definitely will never forget him
Fabulous compilation, R.I.P. Chester, lost way to soon. Powerful! I love a great screamer, epic. Thanx so much, Peace
great song choice…love this song!
The Beast 🖤
May Chester R.I.P, much respect to him and his band. I remember way back when they 1st came out. I had to learn a couple of their songs as a favor for a few old friends.
they are for one of the best rock groups the rhythm of their music and the vocal power of chester gives incredible music then I also like the theme covered in their song
Hey you!
@@WonderMommaOG hey 👋
Лучший вокалист нашей эпохи ❗❗❗❗❗❗❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for all of the editing work that you do. I appreciate you. It's almost like being at a concert and watching everyone enjoying themselves.
It's sad that these people will never hear him do it live. So unbelievable.
i cant listen this song without tears in my eyes... we miss you chester :c
You did an amazing job. This hit deep. ❤😢❤
Hi WonderMommaOG. I feel you in regards to your quote. You can use your pain and hardships to become bitter and angry, or a better, more compassionate human. As sad as it is that Chester couldn’t fight the pain anymore, he left behind the gift of songs such as this one, with words that resonate with so many. I’m sure we can all think back on difficult times in our lives where music was our one saving grace. Congrats on 17k!
Thank you, Jill!
Another spectacular video, the multiscreen and the reactions to the scream before the reaction itself were great ideas! And Chester... What else to say about him? He was unique and will never be forgotten! 😢 #RIP 🖤
GOOOOOAALLL! Consensus shots up front-check. Pointing out who I subscribe to next-check (#Daveeezu, you're up to bat) and the best part, taking an old song and making it new again, through as many hearts and eyes as possible, not to mention, proving that some of the best reactions don't even involve words. (Yeah, #Daveeezy). Thanks, Momma!
I'm glad you found @daveeezy184 ! His rock reactions are amazing. Another new reactor I used in this one is @kshavon3098 ... she and her white boy shopping basket make my day. 😅🤣
@@WonderMommaOG There!
Amazing work again as usual. Mental illness is absolutely real. I dealt with my own battle but got the help I needed and am doing very well today.
I had a feeling it was this song... RIP Chester 😢
Fantastic video as always
I LOOOVED THIS! deeply appreciated 👏 TY. ❤
His lyrics told his story of depression throughout much of his career. Very sad
We miss you Chester
Props on this one, should have shown you love "back then" Momma cause I had already watched it, so I live and learn.❤
I suffer from depression.... I got a great career I'm good looking but I'm fighting really hard to find a way to stay.... i understand how Chester might have felt it's something that can't be explained
Minutes to midnight album was came out in 2007, and shadow of the day is the first song i heard from the album, and leave out all the rest... I went to cyber cafe and i downloaded... Man i miss those day😢 i remember like yesterday
Very well done video! RIP Chester.
Thanks rock n roll heaven hell of. a band.
This was fantastic
GREAT EDITING WONDER MOMMA OG!
Not gonna lie, Momma. Thought it would be hard to watch, yet it was the unexpected.
Appreciate your edits, beautifully made.
Missing Chester. 😪
This was the first song that popped in my head when i heard Chester had taken his life 😢
Hello doll this is a great video ❤ it worked out really good. Bennington was a great vocalist and you have really improved in your editing 😮 take care my friend 🎉❤
Chester was like i wanna KMS
And people were like
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yeah, when news broke out of him taking his life really hit hard. I went to watch Metallica back in 2017 at the Rose Bowl and a moment of silence was given in remembrance of Chester. RIP
*#RIP** Chester Bennington* great compilation what editing program did you use?
You look beautiful but I see the ring on the finger so congrats.
When it comes to depression like *Chester* was dealing if you yourself are dealing with depression or know someone who is. It's time alone that is the worst keep them busy or yourself when they cut themselves off that's when they get locked in their head the depression builds & something like this can happen
Best Mashup eVer
this was actually kinda hard to watch, i can't imagine how it must've felt to MAKE the video. such a cathartic experience, you're the best Momma!🫀
Yes, I had put this one off 3 times because I knew it was going to be a duesy. Thank you for your kind words.
Of course everyone reacts to Chester. They don't really say anything towards the rest of the band. Chester was an amazing talent that certainly is missed.
Crazy thing about this song and video was released, he then ended his life like a week or two later.. People understand mental health.. Rest In Peace Chester!! Love and miss ya brotha!!
I think the song came out in 2008 and he took his life in 2017... I think losing his close friend, Chris Cornell, might have sent him over the edge. I do know that he filmed a carpool karaoke 6 days before he died. It's a bit haunting to watch. Appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Guy in top roght corner is literally us
I feel like this is why the lyrics hit differently now…. Before we thought he was singing about us, he was standing up for all that suffered. Only now we learn that he was singing for himself too and we weren’t really listening.
Their song lost is amazing
YIKES😭😭😭
Продолжай делать такие видео! Они супер
You did another great job, but I can't comment on the song and video because my opinion is not a popular one.
❤
🖤
There was NOTHING wrong with you ! We miss you
Dude did Chester sprint up 100 mountains everyday?
HAD the voice....
The video should be mashup
Poor guy, so sad, lost soul...
Почему я плАчу?..
He scream for help
Amazing to me how all these reactions are not listening to how he is crying out for help in his songs, RIP Chester.
all speak only about the scream... but they dont listen to the lyrics... chester better never did that scream...
i stopped watching Linkin Park reactions because no one pays attention to Chester's voice anymore. everyone just talks about his suicide.
i understand that people are spreading awareness about the issue, but his music was more than a man committing suicide.
Chester's fans remember him for how his music impacted them. talking about his suicide only makes it worse for people who are still trying to move on.
I completely understand and would agree with this. This is definitely something I will be more careful about conveying in the next Linkin Park video I make. Thank you for reminding me of what is most important. 💜💜
Meh
as always, great video @WonderMommaOG! U R The Best!
nice
❤
