The IPO Process Explained - how does a company go public?

All major public issues of securities are done through an offer document. For an IPO, this offer document is also called a Red Herring Prospectus. This offer document must be drafted and sent to the securities regulator (SEBI) for vetting before it is formally filed with the companies regulatory authority (RoC).
