I like that video where you had a Z71, an XLT and a SR5 that all cost 45K. Anyone who does not feel the new Tacoma is not overpriced should watch that. That video put that argument to rest once and for all. That poor SR5 looked like a bare bones work truck with skinny little street tires in comparison.
We have the New Tundra TRD PRO, my wife decided to get the new ranger XLT for her, Very Happy with our decision, Nice interior, seats are extremely comfortable, and quick,Ford did a great job
There's a couple old Lariats in my area for $30k max, since the new Ranger is even more outside my price range than the new Frontier that I'm looking at. Ford does make nice trucks that can last despite the long-term ridicule.
Its weird seeing a vehicle without push to start.
I know if they put a push button that would have such as easy way to send this beyond the competition

I do have a soft spot for the Ranger since I have an older one. However, the rear seat folding/storage design is horrendous! Why not make it a 60/40 split????
Say whatever you want about the Ridgeline, but in this area as well cabin space, they have the competition beat.

For the same 44K on the Ranger, I could get the Frontier Pro5X with real V6 and 9 speed trans...which one would you pick?
Had the 2019 Ranger, no issues, put 75k on it. Wasn’t confident in 100k+ miles, so decided to trade it in. Wanted to go V6 NA and stay away from turbo. Went 2023 Tacoma. No regrets. If I had to go 24, would probably go Ford over GM, and given Toyota’s prices, and current reliability, would do another Ranger, with the extended warranty.
lol. That natural v6 is a dog. I’m excited to get my turbo 2.7 v6 version. I can’t stand a slow truck…
@@billygames7107 OTT tune solves the problem. My Ranger had the performance tune, and I’m fully satisfied with the Tacoma acceleration and throttle response post tune. Oh, and I’ll still be driving it in 10 years. Good luck though, make sure you get an extended warranty.
Ford & Chevy have really stepped up their game, it's like years of the past in which Toyota was rock solid. Plus with Ford & Chevy you can get a decent discount.

I have one in outback and I didn’t think I would like it, but it actually makes way more sense than the horizontal screen.
Reminds me of Ram trucks.

My 24 ranger took one year but is worth it I wish I had the 2.7 the 2.3 is bit slow in hills
I don’t get how you could even think purchasing a 4 banger after they showed the 2.7… I heard a rumor and paused my purchase. I’m ordering my 2.7 this July.. it’s gonna be nasty when I’m done with it. Super stoked!!!
Is the “new” Ranger a complete redesign from the ‘23 model? (i.e. not just sheet metal change). If so I think that’s a decent price point. Also I can’t wait to see the 2.7 V6 in it, that will be a beast, not as quick as the Raptor obviously but quick!

When I’m done with my 2.7 it’s gonna smoke the stock ranger raptor. Tons of easy bolt on upgrades for the 2.7 plus a tune.. of shit. I’m ordering a 2.7 XLT white with black out package.. this July! I’ll post videos and shiz at this rate I’ll have the first one on UA-cam lol…
I’ve always loved the Ford trucks like Ranger , F 150 because of how reliable they can be going off road and how good the engines are and that video proves it

No rear locker on that Ranger?
Locking rear is part of the FX4 offroad package
Not a big deal you can add a rear locker on the configurator for around 500 bucks. Another 1K gets you the FX 4 package. Personally I'd get this truck with just the rear locker added to the 4X4 system. Probably have a nicer ride on tar sealed roads. But I hear they improved the dampening/ride allot from the last generation. Allot to like hear. Best seating position and rear leg room was improved here. Best in class comfort and class leading tow and bed capacities.
@@HiPlains1 you mean damping. Dampening means to make something moist. Just found this out myself recently.
It’s a $400 option available even on the base trim.
I had the 2.3 I=in 2019 Ranger. It has plenty of power especially if you don’t plan to pull anything larger than a 19 orv29 foot travel trailer. I traded it for a 2024 Ranger Raptor.
Please do a review on the Tacoma pro when it’s available
Ford giveth and taketh away. They giveth a digital instument panel and big touchscreen, and taketh away start, stoo button and rear seat vents and supercab configuration. Bean counters at work.

Ridgeline still seems like the best bang for the buck in the mid size truck segment.
I was considering the Ridgeline too, but man I just cannot get past the shifter 💀 I like the traditional shifter more than the button one that's on the Ridgeline
Ridgeline is not a truck. It's a car with a bed. It's a uni-body unlike a true body on frame (truck).

@@robedwards6926 the ridgeline rides better and has equal payload to the ranger. the ranger has better towing and would do better for more severe offroading. For road use and light offroading, the Ridgeline is better
I’m frugal and the new vehicle prices are so high any more that I have come to a conclusion that I will drive my old f150 for a long long time .
the 10 speed 10ra ford transmissions have known to have many issues.....

@@larrytjr then the e shifter for the titanium had a recall. You can look it up. Also the kick sensor for the tail gate

Test drove a 2024 Toyota Tacoma trd off-road and wasn’t impressed overall. Can ANY fourth gen Tacoma luver(s) out there convince me that this the sacred oath truck all the fanboys are praising continuously on the interweb because It just didn’t work for me as a great, dependable truck.😳

People harping on the 4cyl turbo in a midsize really need to get over themselves. This engine has been around for a while and a has a good rep, do your maintenance get it on the highway out of the city and it will be fine I have the 2.0 in my escape with almost 200k km and its been perfect minus a purge valve under a 100$ to fix and 20 minutes of time. After a 2hr drive the only way I can tell the engine is running is looking at the tach, besides I love it when I hit the gas and it launches me past the slower traffic on the highway. I prefer a key
I’ve owned 3 Rangers in my lifeime and if I was in the market for a another midsize pickup, this would be at the top of my list, with the chrome package too 👍🏾.
I got my 2015 f150 fx4 crewcab for cheaper than this Ranger. New vehicle prices have got retarded.

Lost all interest in the new Ranger after driving it. Acceleration is weak, and the portrait mode screen is poorly placed. For $45k, the XLT model I tried felt very barebones. I’m sure the Tacoma is just as bad if not worse.
The older gens are better buys.

Sounds a bit "tinny" when you shut the doors! For a $43K truck, it sure as hell does not sound solid, do not like the small engine and cloth seats for that price! Ford has gone nuts, stupid and that's why their vehicles are piling up on dealer lots! I would suckle on a porcupine before I pay $43K for that truck. Even when you pulled on the lever to open the hood, it dd not appear very solid, kind of flimsy! IF it were $32K or less, then I would think it's not a bad buy, but anything above $32K is too much.
Okay, what's the better more affordable new option? Frontier is the only one and it's still a tad dated.
