Wir hatten dieses Jahr auch das erste Mal einen Kernbeißer bei uns am Futterhaus. Bei uns war es ein Weibchen. Wunderschön. Konnte sie zum Glück auf Foto und auch auf Video bannen :).

I named him Mr. Hawy and I think he's older because of his movements. I never saw his kind. Beautiful that he showed up at different places in Thomas Garden. 😊
An unserem Vogelhäuschen ist der Kernbeißer täglich zu Gast. Man hört immer, wenn er da ist, weil er so laut die Sonnenblumenkerne knackt. Manchmal kommen sogar vier Exemplare auf einmal 🤩 Scheint eine ganze Familie zu sein.
I swear I’ve seen one of those in my garden, North England!!! Was trying to figure out what it was for ages but couldn’t find anything with the golden head and colour scheme like it.. Are they more common in the UK?
I am pretty sure they are very rare in the uk…that is amazing you seen one!
@@TheThreeScoots we did have a heatwave recently so it may have got confused and thought it was a nice place to stay? Haha are there any other golden head finches I could have mistaken it for or is that unique?
@@JustWilson I think they are native but still very, rare. Search chaffinch or brambling…if you don’t think it’s one of those it is probably most likely a hawfinch

Wir haben an unserer Futterstelle auf dem Balkon bis zu drei Kernbeißerpärchen. Sie knacken sehr gern Sonnenblumenkerne und bringen dann auch ihren Nachwuchs mit. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit ist hoch, dass nach der Sichtung eines Kernbeißers bald anderen nachkommen, da sie Brutkolonien bilden. Im Winter ziehen sie sich eher zurück und nutzen die Futterstelle nur noch selten. Sie dient für sie wahrscheinlich nur zur Unterstützung in der Brutzeit, da sie insgesamt sehr scheu sind.

I think this species is mainly found in Europe and Asia.
