This one of the main reasons I left NY and across the river to Jersey. I have the best view of NYC. The apartments are triple the size with minus the roaches, rodents and crime. Stainless steel appliances the whole works 🤷🏾♀️. The rent is significantly less. If you do decide to get a apartment in the NYC price range in Hudson county, you’ll only pay your monthly rent because EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED: utilities, gym, swimming pools, spa, tennis courts etc. All this for 30-40 minutes MAX commute to the city courtesy of NJTransit 🤷🏾♀️
If you're an old person like me, you'll remember that back in the day, almost every brownstone on the Upper West Side was split up into tiny studio/1-BR apartments where artists, musicians, weirdos, crazy cat ladies, strange old men with huge baseball card or model car collections, stoners and writers who wrote for 'zine's you could only buy in head shops could live. The small rooms were absolutely useful, because they made it possible for creative, interesting people without much money to live in the city and fill it with interesting, oddball, goofy and brilliant ideas. So sad that the NYC of my youth is gone. This Cash video does show an apartment that could actually work for three young people who are compatible, don't own much stuff and are committed to making it in the Big Apple. I welcome them! ❤ 💕

Well, New York City is one of the world's priciest cities in which to live. It's on par price-wise with London, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc.
The location is good for those who stay home at night. It's a walkup, but only a couple of flights, and you don't have to lug your laundry anywhere. The apartment is small in every way and needs a rolling island for food prep. You'll need to buy window A/Cs. This one might function better as a 2-bedroom.
It would be interesting to know a little bit of history on some of the old buildings that you check out. Like when it was first built, who lived there in the past, the original size of the rooms, etc. Love the content!
@CHARLES 13X For sure. Either way, I was just agreeing with SuperShark about hearing the history of some of the buildings which he has mentioned in a few of the videos and I found it interesting.
3 adults living in there?? I could never do it. The kitchen is so small…no storage. I could see a couple living there, using 1 bedroom. The other “bedrooms “ I would use as a living room and one as an office. Thank goodness I don’t have to live in New York.

The van around 2:23 would actually make a great little RV, just put in a few windows, insulate it, furnish it and you'd be good to go! Living in a converted van has got to be the most affordable way to live in NYC. These converted vans can be bought or done up for as low as $7500 - $11,990, depending on where you buy it, how spartan or fancy you want the van interior to be, etc. And getting a permit to park long term in a neighborhood may cost between $500 and $1800 per month.
It's all about location! Down the block from Central Park & the subway!! & only 3 blocks away is a different subway line! But why do I feel like the apartment was chopped up to make it a 3 bedroom?
You know, one of these days, that "But hey, it's New York!" Excuse isn't going to work anymore. With the new mayor wasting tens of thousands in tax payer money posting "gay" billboards in Florida, they obviously have financial problems.
Yes, but not a NICE part of Central Park or subway. You couldn't pay me to live in this neighborhood, and the fact that someone wants 4K/mo. for a shoebox is laughable.
There definitely are wheelchair accessible apartments in New York City, just not in the older buildings. The older buildings, those dating the 1920s and earlier, tend to have steep stairs, narrow corridors, standard size doorways and thus are not suited for wheelchair bound people. What you have to realize is that while wheelchairs did exist in the 19th and early 20th centuries, they were incredibly rare, and the disabled were often confined to institutions.
The monthly rent on this apartment is about twice what the monthly MORTAGE payment would be on a three bed two bath single family home in most other places in the U.S. And those steep, narrow, winding front steps! Imagine navigating those when they are coated with ice or snow. Unless you absolutely have to live in NYC within a 10-minute commute for a kind of employment that is not available anywhere else in the U.S., why would you choose to live in this city? Better to commute into the city than live there. Even better, work somewhere else with a much, much lower cost of living, less crowding and cleaner, more attractive surroundings.
That's just your opinion. Many people prefer to be within walking distance of any kind of entertainment or amenity they could possibly want. That comes with a higher price tag. It's more expensive because that's what more people prefer. I'd love to do that, but instead I live in the aforementioned single family home in Michigan where our mortgage is about even with the one-bedroom cost of this place. But I'd drop everything and move to this place in a second if I had the guts to do so.

I’m from this neighborhood, there are multiple reasons why it’s empty. It’s not affordable for native New Yorkers , no bath tubs , and it’s truly meant only for a single family. Technically if you live in NYC you’re not supposed to have no more than 2 roommates. Also no native ever takes the subway at Central Park. The subway line there is considered a drop off point, due to many factors , one of which females would be raped there , people being killed, etc. it’s never been safe.
That strange building you were wondering about says "3rd rail operation" on the door... so I wonder if it is some support structure for the subway system? Like electrical substation access point??? Based on the graffiti and abandoned look maybe it is an older decommissioned one?
It's the opposite for me. I won't even consider renting a place that has a bathtub rather than a step-in shower. Same goes for carpet -- I hate carpet.
@1:08, dogs are supposed to be kept on the leash in the park. You don't want that pack of dogs running all over the place. Horrible steps up to the street door. I would be housebound when the snow arrives. 😂 Great location, but it's another place where the landlord has chopped the space to get the maximum rental yield.
Here is an idea. Travel contract RN's are paid housing stipend and a base pay hourly. They usually get less than local wage rate because housing is UNTAXED. When I was working as RN in Westchester the travel assignments available paid $3000 monthly. A three bedroom split walking distance to Central Park and Mt Sinai well maybe the rental market ie roomies wearing scrubs is down the block. Regards to family from Brookfield RS

“If we’re lucky, we’ll see a squirrel instead of a rat.”🤣🤣
Another great video that place was pretty dope good location by the park. Luv the channel keep up the grind. 😁
That strange building you were wondering about says "3rd rail operation" on the door... so I wonder if it is some support structure for the subway system? Like electrical substation access point??? Based on the graffiti and abandoned look maybe it is an older decommissioned one?
Made me lol when he said if we’re lucky we will see a squirrel and not a rat! 😂
Really nice place and the park being so close is awesome. I would have liked at least one bathtub instead of a shower.
It's the opposite for me. I won't even consider renting a place that has a bathtub rather than a step-in shower. Same goes for carpet -- I hate carpet.
Haha I’m the same - I hate carpets and love showers!!
Ya know that squirrel? That's why the massive pack of dogs don't get to go to the park. haha!!!
Cleaning those bathrooms is going to be a nightmare!!!! Great vid!
That pigeon is adorable!
Squirrel! 🐿 errr... chipmunk...ummm. RAT!🐀🐀🐀😂😂
😁😁😁
Really nice and the price is right for the location! I especially like the pigeon!
My dog ran away from me in that part of the park lol. Thank goodness for the guy with a puppy who grabbed him lol
I grew up in this neighborhood. Back in the 70's. It was different. But I truly still miss it.
That Yellow van got me concerned honestly😅
This apartment seems like such a steal. I'd give anything to live by Central Park in the fall. ⛄❄️🌲
A steal for 4K a month? Glad I don't live in NYC. It looks really nice, but so small for the price.
Thank you for sharing.. Being that close to Central Park is so nice...
I would say for the location and size and amenities, the cost isn't bad. I had a linen shelf closet at one time...it was great.
Oh wow!! Maybe you could get Windex to sponsor you. This apartment reminds me of a fun house at a carnival. Seriously, lovely apartment and that pigeon nesting on the A/C - priceless.
You are really good at giving your videos the best titles. Your titles are not exactly clickbait, but they are designed to make it inviting to click and watch the video.
Good afternoon Cash. This was nice but I rather enjoyed the neighborhood tour better than the apartment. I hope you and your family have a great day.
Friedrich, the dove! Nice neighbour.
And on her/his personal throne.
Cash do you ever leave an apartment you’re showing and forget your vitamin water in the fridge
good question 😂😆
Nice place for sure! It kills me thought, no counter space lol
That's a Ford model T. I can tell by the fact that the brakes are on the gearbox there's none on the axles or the wheels if you're curious on what that old car with a cover over it was
Ha 103rd between Central Park West and Manhattan Ave. That used to be a no-go zone when my family lived in the NYCHA houses. Funny to see what they charge now.
Nice place,, in unit laundry, 2 bathrooms.. .. yes!
Decent room in NYC is like a small closet in anywhere else in the room.
By far the most unsolicited compliments I received on a scent was from my hair conditioner 😂Thanks for the fun and interesting video 👍😁
0:16 I burst out laughing 😂 God I love your videos hahaha
Shout out to the nesting pigeon.
Hey Cash, can you do like a monthly Q&A videos or something? There will be a lot of people interested in you perspective on the rent, housing market etc.
I'm waiting for the day when you slam one of those appliances or bathroom medicine cabinets & it breaks into pieces!
There has been an eagle named Rover spotted in central park so that may be what the photographers were there for.
Hahaha, you gotta love the sarcasm. 😂👌
Guess spending too much time inside or losing it one.........I was feeling oddly attached to the pigeon on the AC. OH LORD.
😂😂😂
Iove to watch cash.he is a treasure.such personality.
That common space would have to be a dining room/study so you could monitor the kids doing their homework. 3rd bedroom would have to be a den.
A little cuteness goes a l-o-n-g way.
Great video as always.
That weird little building is the entrance to the TMNT secret hideout. Cowabunga dude!
Personally, l would most definitely get it that Yellow Truck that advised 'FREE CANDY' whilst touring the local area alone, and after Dark. . I mean, what's not to be apprehensive about that Sinerio. Seems highly legit to me. Welcome to CENTRAL PARK ladies and Gentlemen. Enjoy your stay. Hilarious stuff.
Oh lord I'm from the South and if we get something $3995 a month... It's a damn mansion here and we own it... I damn near passed out when he said that....😳
Appreciate your videos Cash Jordan
“Nothing fishy about the Candy 🚐 van” 💀 😂
Cash smelling good for the wifey you go boy😃👊🏾😃
living accommodation without outdoor space: lower rent
Parks are the best invention for outdoor space: no worry, well maintained, all amenities and all for free.
Hi cash! Happy Tuesday!☘️😤
My first time meeting you! Please meet your acquaintance! You are so funny! Maybe we'll see a dog, instead of a rat?! Hahahahaha! Love it!
"The only party I'm seeing is in this garden." LOLOL.
