    I saw her at CBGB New Year's Eve in 1977 where she did Because the Night for the first time and Springsteen did a surprise walk on and joined her. Also saw her in 1975 or 76 at The Cellar Door in DC- front row seats. Have since seen her 3 or 4 times in NYC. Most amazing was July 2001 Lincoln Center, where she did a 20 minute elegy to Vietnam, and in 2003 at Battery Park City, where she performed "1959". In 2005, she did "Gloria" in Central Park, in her 60s, and she was hotter than most singers in their 30s!

      I saw her twice, she was about 68-69 years old.
      First time was in an outdoor concert, 6 months later I saw her in a medium size theatre, completely full and sure was one of the concerts of my life. Some sort of a religious celebration of rock&roll and freedom! God bless her!

      I saw the PSG at the Golden Bear (Huntington Beach, Cal.) sometime in '76 and on that tour she had fans following her for every show on that tour! That's not bad for Californians at that time. She was the very essence of punk rock long before any band got awarded with that title. Yeah, lots of spitting from the audience and her too, and was very loud. Just good garage rock.

    I saw for the first time last night in Bath, and part of me was expecting a slight disappointment compared to the energy on her records from younger years - I couldn't have been more wrong . She really has still got that punk rock energy at 74, and knows how to connect with her crowd - thank you to whoever gave you to world, you are inspirational!

      What most people fail to realize, she was married to Fred "Sonic" Smith from the MC5. They both walked away from successful careers.

      @stellarocquie7957 Рік тому +4

      @@revwahfair Uh, they DID? Fred DIED very young, so if you consider that to be walking away, so be it. As for Patti, she never walked away from anything. She is a multi-talented artist, singer, poet, author, photographer, producer, performer, and probably more talents that a neglected to mention here. Walked away? This lady is SO successful, busy and still in demand, I don't even know when she has time to sleep!

      I was a grip on this show, Mike gave the musical guest booker lots of latitude but it took Mike 2 good weeks to get over Patti, we had Lou on once or tried to but he was to smacked back and kept spitting all over the set.. my 2 favorite guests on mid day talk show.. the switch board almost blew up after patti with irate pill swilling housewives complaining. That studio was not as large as it appeared, musician green room was 10 feet stage left of the shot, you could hear patti Howling and laughing , she was and still is one of America's oh fuck that the world's great poets

    The funny thing is how everyone commented on how "fresh" this performance (and Patti) was, when in fact it dates from April 1977, more than a year after "Horses" was released (and six months after "Radio Ethiopia"). No one seemed to realize (or care?) that she'd been actively involved in music (not to mention poetry, art, etc.) since at least 1974.

Fortunate to see her do 40th anniversary of Horses in Cleveland, saw her in 2000, waited 24 years due to missing a '76 show at the Cleveland agora that was sold out. She has to be the most well read singer of her generation, a true force of nature. PSG!!!

      Paul Perkins lol yeahhh… that first Am @:46 is rough but I feel like once they start going it’s less noticeable, or perhaps I care less by then since it’s seemingly a vibe for this one. I know this is 5 years later but I’m glad I’m not the only who noticed the out of tune guitars. Hope you’re well!

    The Mike Douglas Show was pretty conservative. I'm surprised he booked them. (Then again, KISS appeared three years earlier...)
