I would happily listen to Patti Smith chatting all day. There is something comforting about her energy.
It’s because she is completely authentically herself.
After loving her since getting Horses when I was 14 I’ve been having the surreal experience of hearing her speak, and write, regularly on Substack. It’s magic. Check it out.
Yes, she has powerful energy. Also she can write a healing poems, and also Patti Smith has telekinetic powers. 100%
She's fairy
How was she able to side-step all the neurotic bad-stuff about being self-involved.
She embodies all those special qualities I would hope to find in a friend. Such an approachable soul. Love her:)
@debramckean1970..such a loving and insightful comment. I bet you are a true blue friend.😊❤
She really changed. Used to be edgy
My heart feels like that, do you love poetry as well?
don't dare ask her for an autograph, she'll bite your head off.
Yeah, no, she's not "approachable."
Her first performances - changed my perspective of the strength and breadth of self-expression. Years later, I Had to take my young son to see her and hopefully meet her one day - we were lucky to be brought backstage after her powerful performance at The Wiltern, where she was sitting silently in a large, soft chair as people quietly stood and greeted one another all around her. She motioned to my son, with a gentle smile, had him sit down by her - she asked him a few questions, and they both quietly smiled. His regard for women grew by leaps and bounds from that moment, on.
That's beautiful!
Beautiful.
I was also at that show. Patti is pure magic.
Always a pleasure to listen to Patti, whether it's performing or just speaking her mind.
Agreed, thanks for watching!
Patti Smith is a wonderful antidote to all that is wrong in our culture. She is a treasure, and may she always have a voice, and an audience!
Love Patti. What an authentic, passionate soul.
Indeed
I taught her son, Jackson. What a parent-teacher conference that was! I was so nervous because, as the old saying goes, you should never meet your heroes. Happily, she could not have been nicer.
@@mc76 Lucky!
I always think about how nobody is going to experience what she has, it’s just not the world we live in anymore. It’s beautiful. I cried my eyes out after reading “just kids” and it definitely changed my view on the world and art.
What (kind of) book is that?
@@melsmit2 it’s her explaining her childhood and rise to fame, it’s really beautiful.
@@alyssawilliams7448 thank you!
this is why children need to be taken to art museums and music performances
Exacto
She's so clear-eyed and down to earth for a true shaman. Please see her in concert if you possibly can.
She is so fascinating*-* Just kids will forever be my favorite book!
It is mine too. I want to read it again ❤
She is sooo Real, true breath of fresh air. She sure sounds very wise, someone I would like to hand out with for sure, and be a friend of.
Just finished reading "Just Kids". One of the most beautiful books I have ever read.
One of my fave books 😊
Patti is amazing. I read "Just Kids" every Summer, just beautiful. Thanks so much Patti.
Patti is a living legend. One of the most genuine spirits this earth has held.
Thanks for this! Just saw her in Seattle last night and this fits so nicely with her current book tour. Hard to explain but she’s my adopted aunt.
In my mind, not for real.
I get that. To me she was like a neighbor, older sister or cousin I wish I had, and she was and is a great role model.
Incredible! I was so so happy to see Patti in my sub feed! By the way if you enjoyed this at all, DONT let yourself miss out on her memoir Just Kids its one of the best books ive ever read easily.
so much love for patti smith
I relate so much to being a female but a weird one, I look up to her ❤
I love this woman, she is such an authentic, beautiful and creative soul. I wish this had more views - cause people should know about this wonderful and intelligent treasure.
Your music has enabled my art! Thank you for your bravery Patti Smith!
Most guys my age are either dads or thinking it's a bit too soon to be a grandfather, but i feel more like a male "Patti Smith"🤣...and yes, it's kind of difficult "fitting in" but it's not so hard if I accept that and embrace it.
She’s an ocean of kindness with a smell of jasmines
I loved that her and Sam Shepard remained friends.
She and Tom Verlaine did as well… honestly I think she remained friends with most of her lovers.
SHE is so AMAZING!! There will NEVER be another Patti Smith. Nevah!!
Patti is the best, the real deal.
Patti is one of the best artists to live. I love her mind, music and voice. Such an icon.
Patti you are so true to your art . Looking forward to reading the new book.
If your an artist it is who you are. It’s such a privilege to create the product of humanity. It’s such a privilege to give I. This way.
She's just phenomenal ❤ love you Patti! I have the privilege of seeing her perform again this coming Thursday......beyond thrilled
Patti makes everything seem possible.
What a beautiful soul. So strong yet so embracing and peaceful. Something changed inside me tonight.
My mother took me to the record store in February 1976 when I was 12 and I bought "Horses." Thank goodness I had Patti (and Debbie Harry and The Runaways) and not Trailer Swift and Harry Styles, etc. growing up. Hey kids, all the cool stuffs in the Indie music scene. Like it always has been.
Just listened to the audiobook of Just Kids, read by Patti Smith. She’s amazing!
Always loved her songs and very much admired her as a true artist ❤
“Just Kids” is on my bedside table. I’ll frequently open it at random and read a few passages. It’s a beautiful examination of what it is to be an artist. It’s like scripture to me.
Thank you so much!. I love Patti so much and I look up to her a lot 🧡❤️💛
She is definitely a trailblazer. Love her song "People Have The Power". Thank you Clive Davis. He also help Carly Simon re-ignite her career in the 80's.
Thanks to some guy named Fred for that as well.
I''m 67 as of 2024, and Patti Smith has always been my idol. I love all her music. She's a female Eric Clapton. I even kind of look like her - unintentionally. Maybe just the hair thing.
In love with her!
♥️
this is awesome! 🖤💞
Yes, it takes way from dreaming. I love listening to you. Thank you!
Wow, I am impressed that Bazaar, would reach out to speak to Patti. If you enjoyed this, go watch a documentary, called 'Dream of life'. PBS' POV, aired it was really good.
@symptom of the Universe Thank you for the documentary suggestion.
stubborn goat ♑ I love u 💘 bless Jesse to give us Patti in this way this past year, it has been an open shelter during the pandemic

You got a book..her new A Book of Days ❤
People have the power❤
Love ✌️✌️
❤
hi Patti !! xoxox🖤🖤🖤🖤
Art hero.
Shame there are less than a hundred likes.
I mean the video has been up less than 24 hrs and the subject is a woman who hasn't made an album in a decade
and not an album that has hit mainstream in many. So it's actually doing pretty well given these types of videos don't tend to do well for Harper's.
Probably 4 hrs or less given when it appears you commented.
as i read her book i come across this vid
Personification of Cool 🙏
QUEEN, as always, go rimbaud!
Always.
I like this l
Check out her documentary 'Dream of life.
here from just kids
I'm 70 years old big fan of music I've heard the name but I have no idea what she sounded like or even what kind of music she sang.
Perhaps you heard her just did not know, it was her? How? Because the night, People have the power. I am guess you have listened now.
Jackson pallack...he was a ******! That line always leaves me shook for some reason.
if not beautiful; her soul, songs and spirit are...
Kinda rbf, kinda makes me wanna cuddle. Lol I love her.
God gives me my confidence.
MORE OF PATTI , PLS , MORE , NEVER ENOUGH
I'm 33 and I want to marry her.
Thank you for being a woman who didn't fit in.
I love both of them, but doesn't Patti look like Joey Ramone now?
Who's the bag lady?
I love Patti. I disagree with her politics and her views on climate change because they are linked. I'm old enough and so is she to remember the stories of the coming ice age in the 70s. I you live long enough you will see the cycles. They were predicting the end in the 70's and the climate control people now have seen their predictions come and go for years now. But there are always new young folks ready to believe and to be used by older folks who have an agenda to fulfill. This is sad. I still love Patti though.
Terrible clickbait headline. Deliberately gives impression patti is losing her voice - she talks here about two times she had laryngitis
Were you hoping she lost her voice? Or were you worried that she lost her voice?
@@symptomoftheuniverse3862 worried
She barely has a voice to lose
Good interview until they brought up climate change
She had a voice to lose?
Ya , the voice of truth and art and all things I love .
@@shanemcconnell1736 The voice of ego, pretentiousness, and middle class privilege.
patti smith is NOT a nice person, My brother had been a fan of hers since Horses 1975, had been to numerous concerts of hers, he even went to see her horrible spoken word tour, after her sept 2019 show at the Royal Oak music theatre he had the nerve to ask for her autograph and patti and her equally horrible son Jackson called my brother a VULTURE !! AND REFUSED TO SIGN ANYTHING..after witnessing this i LOST ALL RESPECT FOR HER ! its not like she's Joey Ramone or someone actually famous.
That's a dude...
