I drummed at this show, along with the rest of Orchestra Luna in the upstage pit. That is Richard Dunne singing. Jim Steinman was NOT in the play. This is the first time I've heard it since '77. Yikes.
Just think of it...if Steinman fully realized his vision there would've been a crazy science fiction West Side Story for that generation. What a crazy genius
The program on Jim Steinman's website credits Richard Dunne, Larry Dilge, and Ellen Foley as the performers. This performance was 1977. Bat out of Hell album was recorded 1975-1976, though not released until Oct 1977. The program states "Book, Music and Lyrics Jim Steinman." Jim isn't listed as a performer.
The same website shows in the script that is the role of Baal wich is played by Richard Dunne. unfortunally an irish football player shares the name making it difficult to use google to know more.
@everyone who says this is not Jim Steinman.. I I think it is.. You can hear that distinct sound of his voice. This sounds like him. Plus no one else this bad would be allowed to sing it unless he was the writer lol. Steinman is GOD!! :-) Maybe NocturnalPleasure can correct me if Iam wrong??????
@@realmikeholman It is Richard Dunne. Larry is singing back-ups as Trink. Ellen Foley is Wendy. Jim was frustrated not having a role in the show this time around. He is doing the recording (with a big old ghetto blaster on a cassette tape.)

MelancoliaI It’s playing in New York right now, the cast is sick. It’s a blast.
This sounds sinister!
I love it!
Sir Jim Steinman at the helm!
LEGEND!!!
this is my favorite version of all, it's sung with less effort - lightweight, lovely

You sound awesome Richard.....been a long time, hope all is well
I've got a bootleg of this. Been on a Steinman kick recently, looking up the various versions of his songs.
I really wish Jim had been able to piece together all of his vision of the full Neverland.
I really wish I could’ve met Mr Steinman in person😔
For the record, I'd also like to thank the Lord for Todd Rundgren, as it turns out.

Jimmy had a different voice. This is Larry Dilge

@@spacepunk2001 cheers man! I love learning new things about these awesome events :)
Any song that Jim Steinman writes is hard to sing. Especially live.
@loaf333 This is a stage performance... Not everyone is perfect. Hell, have you heard Meat live, he isn't perfect by far either.
This is not Jim Steinman singing. I promise you that.
@DoktorBScheuert, jim steinman, i preffer all jim songs to meat loafs.
This can't be Jim singing. He doesn't sound like that. Probably somebody unknown...
It's not.
this one is crap
