I have a collection of 15 bags and a couple of watches and designer shoes now and what I have definitely learnt for sure is that if you ultimately want something there is no point buying alternatives (often cheaper similar styles) as eventually you’d still keep dreaming and wanting THAT particular piece in the end most likely loosing more money on buying and then on selling those alternatives or not even seeing it beneficial selling those alternatives all together based on say getting 40% of your money back. If you truly want something, wait for it, save for it. It may take time but isn’t that a good sense check that you definitely want it (?)
Yes!! Such a great one, I have to say I have been good at waiting and not settling but it has really frustrated me at times but always pays off, because as you say, the money and time is saved!
I am not keen on your MTO. But what l do love about it is that it is clearly a "one of a kind" made for you. What would be the point of commissioning something that is likely to go into mass production. Continue to enjoy 💜
Hi Dayle, finally back to UA-cam and have a lot to catch up on - all your videos I missed 😔. Your MTO experience stands out the most to me and just makes me happy to think how empowering this lesson was to you and I would say to many of us. Thanks for that 💜!
Great examples. I fell into the trap of buying a classic piece the alma bb does not fit my style top handle very structured and horrible as a crossbody yet I love my heart bag too and my coach soft tabby 😊
In line with everything you're saying about finding your authentic style, I've learned to question how much I love a trend piece. Do I like it just because I'm seeing it all over instagram or do I *really* love it. A stiff linen, frilly Zimmerman dress is still sitting in my closet 3 years later, never worn, but it was the Zimmerman style that all the bloggers had. I used to rush into a ton of clothing purchases (especially on sale), but I've learned to chill out and take my time!
luv luv this video. my biggest lesson if you truly can't stop thinking about it, makes your heart flutter and excites you, just buy it! who cares if it's not popular or will resell well. if you fall out of love at least you know you tried. scratch the itch! the loss in money, call it a wear tax and move on, don't dwell in it. plus it'll help you realize what works. my example chanel gst, loved it, howeve hated the middle divider. yes, I lost money but now I know, don't buy totes with middle dividers.
For me: 2 lessons learned. 1. Buy in the best possible condition for the price you want spend. I sold all my preloved and vintage items that were not in very good or excellent condition. 2. Follow your heart... I recently bought a classic bag in a classic color and I miss it being special and me... so I'm already thinking of selling it 😮
I love this video! 🤣🤣🤣 It's funny and bubbly and wise and full of eye-candy-exhibits that prove your points! Because the point is... ... ... you nailed it!!
This was a very timely video as I’m thinking of adding a fun color to my bag collection. I’m going to Las Vegas soon, and will be visiting Fendi for the first time. If you were starting over, would you land on the Baguette or Peekaboo? I’m torn between the two. 😅
I feel buying luxury especially when you are starting is such a learning curve plus our style changes over time. There are many things I would do different today. I love your right hand ring, what is it if you don't mind sharing?
I still find it so strange that people have an opinion on a bag or even wallpaper 😂😂 that is not their own. The age old rule if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all 😂😂 loved the video, your mto is stunning ✨️
If it wasn’t for your videos I would probably have passed on my black tweed MyLady for the black lambskin … but I was just standing in the boutique and suddenly I heard in my mind “classic with a twist” 😂😂
My biggest mistake was not thinking it through then reselling always at a loss. I despise the term “investment”. Because it’s just not LOL. I don’t buy handbags as an investment I buy because I love them.
I’m resonating with the classic for you lesson! I “invested” in a black medium Chanel double flap piece and hardly ever use it. On the flip side I took a chance on a smaller, fun and theoretically less practical Chanel WOC and use it all the time and it fits around the same amount as the double flap. Same with home decor - we painted all of our walls a very safe and boring off white colour when, with the aim of changing it up when we figure out what we want. Fast forward three years and we’re still living with the boring white… time for a change I think!
There are so many elements to life that are serious so why not have fun with bags, clothes, decor - life is short - buy the purple ostrich leather Birkin if that is what toy want!
I love your philosophy Dayle. If you’ve not done it already, I’d love to see what 5 bags you got early in your luxury career because you felt pressured to buy but didn’t actually like in your heart of hearts? Or did you escape that that phase. e.g your inter-hemisphere twin sister once said she felt pressured to buy “real (large) handbags” in her early days @AmeliaRose
Always 👏🏻 Be 👏🏻 Learning 👏🏻

Awww thanks babe
Idk how anyone can be repulsed by your made to order bag, I love the color combo and the textures together!
Thank you! She’s an acquired taste!
I'm struggling to take me eyes off the ring you have on your right hand, it is really sparkly today, stunning
Loved this video. Your MTO is gorgeous! It embodies everything about you xxx
🥰 thank you beautiful!
You holding your MTO Fendi: "This is the most outlandish, crazy piece in my collection."
Gary: giving serious side eye over your shoulder

Great to see you back lovely!
How many lessons have been learned the hard way? Or in the context of luxury, the expensive way!! Great overview on what you have learned
I don’t think any lessons come without a little pain and humility 🤣
Great points Dayle!
I love your made to order bag I love the contrast of the pink and green. ❤
Thank you Ada 🤗

Yay for the heart and the pillowy Tabby!
@@DaylesAddiction not the pilow taɓby , I can't stand that one. I got the "soft" tabby.

Great video Dayle. As you said, we’re always learning. We’ll continue to make mistakes. But hopefully we learn not to repeat the same ones.
And sometimes, they are mistakes we enjoy making as there is no harm done!

Yes! A agree, it’s orthodox spending a little more for better condition - patience is key!
Great video, l love your top, it’s stunning plus it matches all the bags you mentioned xx
It does, it’s a neutral 💁🏻♀️💕
I love your made to order Dayle!
Thank you so much!
Fabulous points & loved what you said about continuously learning !
Thanks Nick - you should do it!!

I actually have a video coming on this soon! I still think peekaboo is most user friendly as a first bag!
Perfect video!!! Thank you for making this 💗Do what makes YOU happy! 💗 Love all your handbags 💗

I’m ok with people not liking the same things I do, it’s when you are personally insulted as a result that it gets a bit bitey.
Hi Dayle….wondering what is the current recommended retail price for a Birkin25/30?
When I bought mine it was €8900
