I think they are owned by the same parent company. It’s a weird Chinese thing. It’s like Chinese phones where one plus, Oppo and Vivo are owned by the same brand.
@@sloppynyuszi Interesting. XP-Pen still feels "different" to me and more of what I prefer. I'd get an XP-Pen product over a Huion even if they are the same parent company.
@@sloppynyuszi Nah, that's XP-Pen and UGEE. You could say XP-Pen was like a rebrand, but they're both under the Hanvon group. Huion is a standalone company started by a Chinese guy while XP-Pen was founded in Japan years earlier to become a Wacom competitor (which didnt take off at all till UGEE bought them)
If I didn’t already own a XP Pen 13.3 Pro and a 22R Pro, I wouldn’t hesitate getting this one. I haven’t tried any other brand but an iPad to draw on, so I suppose what I don’t know won’t kill me.😂 I recommend XP brand for anyone starting out, I bought one to start up my Squigglesmith Illustrations hobby and I love both of my XP Pen devices. I do wish I could have both devices connected up to my laptop though. Not have to disable one and upload the other program when I go out and about with the 13. That’s a bit annoying and time consuming. But other wise I’m rather pleased and think this one that your reviewing looks rather good. 🙌🏻👍
I have a Huion Kamvas 22, Inspiroy RTM-500, and Wacom Intuos S and I can really tell the difference between 4K and 8K levels of pressure sensitivity. Having an 8K pen pressure feels more comfortable, satisfying, and less tiring to draw with while having only 4K pen pressure feels clunky and it hurts my hand after drawing for more extended periods.
Kinda bummed with this release tbh. When Huion came up with an essentially a Surface Pro clone but significantly better experience for doing art, I was hoping for XP-Pen to counter that with their own, or offer another feature that aren't yet offered by their standard lineups. I would appreciate for example, 120Hz refresh screen (which you will notice! I use my pen display as pen tablet sometimes for my 165Hz monitor and it felt so so great how smooth the lines came out!), better integrated touch screen display with their X3 pen tech, or their own Surface Pro clone. When their main selling point is 16,000 pressure sensitivity my thought was "nobody is going to be able to tell the difference! There's 2000 pressure wacom pen that works better than some 4000 pressure XP-Pen/Huion old model pens!" On the plus side, I guess my money is safe for now lol. Maybe I'll get an upgrade for next year or so.
I have no use for a standalone tablet so this is fine with me. And I think a lot of people are in that situation; why pay extra if you already invested in a workstation with a 3080 or something for your 2D and 3D art. Some dingy lil' intel HD graphics card in standalone devices isn't gonna cut it.
Yes! Exactly what I would have wanted - higher refresh rate and better touch models with the X3 chip pens. Also a 22 or 24 inch model with the new pens and thinner bezels, because it looks more aesthetically pleasing to me and takes up less space. We kinda got the opposite here lol
What real artist need to know is that the pressure level of each brand is slightly different, if you used the device to drawing a massive and complex illustration, you will know the different. It`s hard when you already used Wacom products while the standard is very high. So i`m kinda pessimistic unless they can reduce the price by half in the same product category. Sound harsh, but that is the fact... (Sorry to say this...) 😬
hey try doing a review on the Asus ROG Ally as an art pc like how well it works with art programs and an art tablets can it be a nice mini art pc setup?
I believe that in order to perceive this difference, first and foremost, programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, or whichever they may be, need to have compatibility and recognize these levels of pressure. I may be mistaken, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but these programs are not yet sensitive to this.
16000 levels of pressure in amovement of 1 mm of the tip... i dare anyone to have a good pen with 2048 levels 4000 levels 8000 levels or 16000 levels and see if they feel the difference. that said its a great device
I do a lot of precise line work and sketching, for me 8k pressure is a big deal. It makes pen bit more like real pencil. Because, you know, they have infinite levels of pressure.
Were there any difficulties for you with the type-c usb cables/cable set-up or graphic display? I've recently bought one of these and haven't been able to get the graphic display to work.
Artisul sp1603... needs a review. Price efficiency in times of inflation. I was excited to hear some new tech was coming out from XP. And then was kinda like... I really am not seeing the need to bump up from the other 2nd Gen devices. At the same time, if you are in the market for an upgrade, maybe. It does run without the screen. But if you want the added effect of the 16k pressure etc, I would rather buy the much cheaper Deco 2nd Gen class using that same 16k tech for finishing up one's artwork. If you actually need that level of sensitivity, that is where I would go. Save a few hundred. There are no flaws here really, but there is nothing woohoo. I was actually kind of intrigued by your ad more than the review.
Rather than keep piling up those pressure level, which most human being can't feel nor utilize, it's better if they add TILT and ROTATION. I know there are already pen that can do that, but they are still exclusive to more expensive display tablet.
I can definitely notice the difference between 1024, 2048 or 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. 1024 doesn't work for me, I can get away with 2048, but rather not. 4096 is definitely it for me, below that it's less great, above that I don't notice.
Brad, hi, love your video reviews. I bought myself this tablet for learning to draw. But, I am extremely annoyed by the huge amount of unnecessary wires. To my dismay, my computer does not support the type-c mode needed for the tablet and therefore only a 3-in-1 cable, which is very sad. However, I found a huge discussion on the internet about how to add type-c with the right dp alt mode modes so that the tablet can be connected with a single wire. The only problem is 7.5 watts of power, for this pcie board, and this tablet supposedly requires 11 watts. But! There is a video of a wacom one 13 touch - working when plugged into this pcie board. Although its consumption on the wacom website is stated as the same as xp-pen, almost. So I write to xp-pen with a question - will this tablet, like wacom, start up with this board? The level of willingness to help is zero. They don't care at all. Maybe you can help me ? Ask xp-pen how much their tablet typically consumes and whether 7.5 watts is enough, as it was enough for the wacom tablet.
So, for those who are interested in the topic - I got a usb tester: 1) type-c single wire 7w 2) 3-in-1 cable 2w Only when switching on the tablet for ultra short time the consumption was 10w.
Hello, I recently bought a tablet, but unfortunately the zoom does not work in the shortcut. zooms out but does not zoom in. Did you have any information or where can I find a solution
I have a pen display that has 2048 pressure levels of sensitivity. Now I have multiple pen displays that has 8192, and I can't even tell the difference between the two. So what makes me think 16K is much of an "upgrade" Sorry XP-Pen, not this time.

Feature rich as they are, unfortunately these Xp Pen and Huion Screen Tablets simply do not last. The failure rate compared to cintiq is atrocious. Lines in screen, ribbon cable fails, no screen, etc. And worse yet, it seems to happen after the warranty ends! Hopefully this changes, but until it does, I cannot recommend them. I know so many that went back to their cintiqs. ): The non-screen based line is fine though. For screens I recommend cintiq , ipad pro, or samsung Galaxy Tab S line. >>>If you really feel you must buy a kamvas or artist, get a 4 year protection warranty!
hey Brad, could you do a top 5 or top mobile phones with stylus for creative professionals to use? I know there's always the tablet or laptop tablet option but I experienced something today that that made me wish i had something in my pocket to draw with. I had a prior meeting today but it was much time away from how my day started so I filled my time with procrastinating activities, as time went by, I looked at the time and it was almost time for the said meeting, I hurriedly gathered my essentials, my phone, my keys and my wallet and off to the front door I went, as I took off and went in the bus, the scene and time of day was just right and i had the urge to draw the view outside my window but I couldn't. So at the of the day as I'm typing this, i looked up some of your previous videos but never had I seen top mobile phones for creative professionals ranked. was wondering if you could make one?

@@sloppynyuszi Nah, that's XP-Pen and UGEE. You could say XP-Pen was like a rebrand, but they're both under the Hanvon group. Huion is a standalone company started by a Chinese guy while XP-Pen was founded in Japan years earlier to become a Wacom competitor (which didnt take off at all till UGEE bought them)
I can't believe were already getting drawing tablets with 16,000 levels of pressure I wonder when there will be screenless versions
They actually released a screenless tablet along with this one
im enjoying the move to 16:10 with these tablets but wish this had a 2K resolution like the newer Huion 13. similar price point too.
it is 2.5K
Thanks for the review ❤ Maybe I missed this, but can you see pixels on "XP-Pen Artist 14 Gen 2" ?
If I didn’t already own a XP Pen 13.3 Pro and a 22R Pro, I wouldn’t hesitate getting this one. I haven’t tried any other brand but an iPad to draw on, so I suppose what I don’t know won’t kill me.😂
I recommend XP brand for anyone starting out, I bought one to start up my Squigglesmith Illustrations hobby and I love both of my XP Pen devices.
I do wish I could have both devices connected up to my laptop though. Not have to disable one and upload the other program when I go out and about with the 13. That’s a bit annoying and time consuming. But other wise I’m rather pleased and think this one that your reviewing looks rather good. 🙌🏻👍
Please review the one without the screen that also has 16k pressure levels! Love your reviews btw, keep the amazing work
I have a Huion Kamvas 22, Inspiroy RTM-500, and Wacom Intuos S and I can really tell the difference between 4K and 8K levels of pressure sensitivity. Having an 8K pen pressure feels more comfortable, satisfying, and less tiring to draw with while having only 4K pen pressure feels clunky and it hurts my hand after drawing for more extended periods.
Looks great, loved the review
There's 2000 pressure wacom pen that works better than some 4000 pressure XP-Pen/Huion old model pens!"
On the plus side, I guess my money is safe for now lol. Maybe I'll get an upgrade for next year or so.
I don't think XP-Pen is ever gonna release a standalone tablet like the Huion one you mentioned...
4:25 the stand will put too much pressure on the small area next to the trackpad eventually breaking the laptop. I will pass.
It seems there’s a bit of an editing mistake at 7:38 ! just letting u know
Can you do a review on the new deco pro?
I'd rather they start bumping the refresh rate of the monitors, 120hz would be a huge upgrade, 240hz would make it feel as fast as drawing IRL.
Were there any difficulties for you with the type-c usb cables/cable set-up or graphic display? I've recently bought one of these and haven't been able to get the graphic display to work.
Hi, did you figure it out?
Can you have a comparison between this and wacom one
So would this be better than the 15.6 pro?
That’s what I hope to get in the future
As a heavy painter i will sure need to try 16k pressure
so this is NOT the Pro version?
Weird I still own and use my XPen Deco 3 and I have not experienced glitter or wavy lines ever on any software. Tested across different OS.
Great video as always :) Could you also consider checking out the Xiaomi Pad 6 and their new second gen pencil?
So, for those who are interested in the topic - I got a usb tester:
1) type-c single wire 7w
2) 3-in-1 cable 2w
Only when switching on the tablet for ultra short time the consumption was 10w.
how is tilt? how is android compatibility? how is pen paralax?
Hello, I recently bought a tablet, but unfortunately the zoom does not work in the shortcut. zooms out but does not zoom in. Did you have any information or where can I find a solution
Wacom or XP pen which tablet is best?
Thinking of jumping from iPad to drawing tablet soon. First I need a newer laptop. Currently rocking an Acer Aspire 1
ipad pro 12.9 (2021+) 👍🏻
I have a pen display that has 2048 pressure levels of sensitivity. Now I have multiple pen displays that has 8192, and I can't even tell the difference between the two.
So what makes me think 16K is much of an "upgrade"
Sorry XP-Pen, not this time.
Yes, it's just marketing. There ARE things that can be usefully improved in digital pen tech but pressure levels isn't one of them.
Brad! Love your reviews! Check the end of the video,! - Looks like you left some b roll clips/takes in at the end of the video! you can still get to it quickly!
Hey brad can I use xiaomi pad 6 + hi paint as an alternative to ipad air + procreate? Is it worth to save a few bucks?
Love your vids! Keep it up!
Hiii😊.
What App (software) do you use for design?
it is photoshop
Damn oldschool dimensions
New Xiaomi pad 6 is out, would you please like to review it with smart pen gen 2. There aren't any good quality detailed video :(
I Brought This But for some reason Screen Isnt Coming Up and Pen Works But get no signal is there any fix?
How about tilt sensitivity? How many degrees of tilt..?
After getting my ASUS ProArt monitors and seeing the difference in having/viewing 100% sRGB coverage and delta E
I hope something 16k pressure levels 😊for the wacom intuos pro 7th generation
Is the pen better than Huion 13 2.5k?
Will you be trying xppen deco pro gen 2 as well?
Can it be used on 2-in-1 windows laptop? For example: Surface laptop studio, surface pro 9...
Can you review universal stylus pen please
Feature rich as they are, unfortunately these Xp Pen and Huion Screen Tablets simply do not last. The failure rate compared to cintiq is atrocious. Lines in screen, ribbon cable fails, no screen, etc.
And worse yet, it seems to happen after the warranty ends! Hopefully this changes, but until it does, I cannot recommend them.
I know so many that went back to their cintiqs. ):
The non-screen based line is fine though.
7:32 😅
editing f*** up
Honestly I'm just so pumped people make it to the end of the video to see my mistake 🤣
@@thebradcolbow That why you need to hire a editor😊
@@thebradcolbow If you want, i can edit your video for free😊
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a tablet that’s using at least photoshop or procreate. I’ve heard that all tablets except the Microsoft pro surface ones use a “light” version of photoshop, is it true ? What about photoshop on this type of tablet, is it already installed and if not how much does it cost ? Thank you 🙏🏻
It's a shame the wobble is still there, but less is always better. A high refresh rate would be nice, but then again this isn't a top end product.
Don't worry about the double Brad at the end. More Brad is better!
Mind if i ask what draw application ur using?
In this video he's using Photoshop.
Pls try pixel tab , want to know your views on
Does it have tilt?
If the tablet is in like, presale, can i still buy it? I am confused. Also i'm from spain. I don't know if i can buy it.
the Artist 14 Gen 2 is available at XP-Pen’s store for pre-order, the 16 is available now. For a few weeks there is a discount of 10% on both as part of an anniversary promotion…
Can you review huion kamvas 220rds
Hey brad! Great video!!❤ I would love it if you could review the new Xiaomi Pad 6 (successor to the android tablet you liked!) would appreciate your thoughts on it as an artist!!
Sir, can you please review the Xiaomi Pad 6 with it's 2nd gen stylus. One more thing that can we use super display on it to use it as a cintiq. I'm really looking forward to buying that thing with my scholarship money but I am not sure that it would be a good tablet. I mainly draw for product design and sometimes do art too.
Thank you so much for your videos sir, those really helped me get into the design school that I really wanted to. I thought I could not clear the entrance exam because my drawing was really bad. You're videos really helped me. Thank you so much. I'm really looking forward for your response.
16k? Is it really necessary?
Review Xiaomi Pad 6,
Hey brad do u plan on reviewing the mew xiaomi pad 6 and the new 2nd gen smart pen?
New*
Yes, but they don't sell them in the US so it's going to take a few weeks for it to ship over here.
@@thebradcolbow looking forward to it !! Love your reviews
random curiosity: I want to know what a 16000 levels of pressure looks like beside 1000 levels of sensitivity
I haven’t got mine yet
You have to review Xiaomi pad 6 bro
16K pressure? I don't get it, aparently drawing tablet companies making product that just make the pen harder and harder to reach maximum pressure.
You can tell the difference only if you know how to wield the pen properly
16k pressure is riduculous marketing bullshit that hopes to make you think there is 16k resolution monitor and 16k pressure in 2mm size pencil is completely irrelevant
Wow!

at the end there is an editing f*** up
can run ps 2023?
