honestly? i didn't like that remix. Too much dubstep and annoying min/max youtuber intro (as in, y'know the Ali-A meme, too much of that) if you ask me.

Now I'm imagining the dwarves and a reclaimed bet-c singing and using their tools to make this in the middle of an empty cave like a crazy mix between industrial street musicians and the ending of portal 2.

I love the artwork for this game, every character is depicted exactly how they would react to a fight with a driller running in to get some drill damage, the gunner and engi playing defensive, and the scout grappling straight into danger with no plan whatsoever, exactly like the game.
We must be very different Scouts, because I'm always grappling _away_ from the danger, thinking "shit, shit, shit!" In my head the entire time...
Of course, as I type this, I remember the quote: "and that is why no one will remember your name."

@@hevyguy8192 well when you think of it, Deep Rock sees it as a gray area.
They clearly appreciate their employees - saluting dedicated miners and the like, memorial hall for those who never made it back, stuff like that.
So I see it as like, they don't see the employees as expendable or whatever; it's just that DRG does some of the more dangerous operations, hence why Hoxxes of all balls of dirt. The cost is high, but so is the reward.
@Dj11o9er like the mission control guy, i reckon he isn't callous because he is a cruel guy, but rather because he has seen his far share of crews get lost in Hoxxes' depths
I just realised you can easily assume what type of mission the dwarves are doing for the 3 songs he's made so far (with lyrics) because of management's quote in this and rock and stone being salvage and mining expedition respectively and then in nitra hammer and pick the lyric "let the morkite flow" implies morkite refinery

This is the song that plays when you have to sit in the drop pod for mission assurance, watching your scout and gunner slowly fail to pick up the driller who went down while mission control becomes increasingly more urgent with the countdown to takeoff.
I gave each of my Dwarves: names and backstories. I thought about replacing them with new characters if they don't make it back to the Drop Pod or fail the mission. I didn't go through this plan cause that is way too painful for me.

Same bro! Had a Driller with the nickname spice beard! Had to make a new character when a dreadnaught ambushed us on our way out of a hazard four. Held it off long enough for my friends to escape but I was killed.

This song shows what Rock-and-Stone is really for its a way to remember and praise the lost so they are remembered.
Fan songs always run the risk of being cringey as shit but this and the Deep Rock Shanty are nothing short of legitimately brilliant

I absolutely love this little darker tone of this song, it's about dwarfes risking their lifes to mine minerals, going deeper and deeper into the most dangerous place in space, and their doing it for the living
this music makes me vibe and almost cry

Ok, my high brain just created a story to go with the song.
The singer is Karl, who has been running all over hoxxes trying to catch up with a mining crew so they can rescue him but he's always just moments too late, or he finds corpses and wrecks, realizing just how expendable his dwarven brothers are to management. After a long time stranded and alone, he has lost his mind and is driven by a want for revenge on the company that left him and so many others behind. The "truth of rock and stone" is just how many dwarves the company have abandoned for cost purposes. He finally gets his hand on a transmitter and calls to a mining crew, calling them down to the planet without management realizing. In his madness he sees them as part of the company and nothing more. He steals their drop pod and leaves them stranded. Back on base, nearing his goal, he loses himself fully. He sets explosives to blow the base out of the sky, and reveals to his horrified kin his intention to force everyone on the base into an invasion force. And, laughing madly, he sends them down, down, down, to be lost or find renown.
That's quite the story!

The thing i love about this song is that the bridge isn't "glory or death", it is "death or glory". It's a fucling dangerous job and if you're lucky you get back alive and live long enough to enjoy riches and glory

No joke, this is one of, if not the best fan songs ever made because of just how much heart is behind this and said heart can be seen as clear as day (something that most fan songs lack in my opinion, since around 60% of them are trend chasers). Rock and stone to your future endeavors.
