  • How to install a cheap Ebay Chinese rear subframe tie brace bar, with the infamous JDM logo on it, and a cheap generic 24mm Chinese sway bar. This should be the same for all 1992-1995 Del Sol, Civic, and 1993-2001 Acura Integra too.

    Quick question, do you have a link to the rear Si sway bar end links and the small silver sub frame brace brackets? Looking at getting those for my Ebay Swaybar and Truhart Subframe brace.

    Great video but, the spherical end links are better than stock links, also, you're supposed to pre load your suspension while installing a sway bar

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  Рік тому +2

      Wrong. Pre loading does not matter on a sway bar. Also, heim joints are not better. If they were, manufacturers would use them. None do.

    I’m curious how everything feels on the street for you. Watched your video installing the ground control Koni’s. Is the ride quality about what you expected? Stiffer? Softer?
    From my research, and what I gathered from that video, I think our goals might be about the same.

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  4 роки тому +11

      The coils made it stiffer. The shocks made the rebound slower. That was the big noticeable difference. Basically less bouncy, and stays planted on the road way better. Swaybars decrease body roll. stiffer in the rear promotes over steer, and stiffer in the front promotes under steer. Too much swaybar makes the car handle like it no longer has independent suspension. It's all in how you want the car to behave.
      Have not driven it with the rear swaybar yet. But the suspension is firm enough for a nice ride on the tires that are on there, and it is definitely the best handling car I have owned. I could do stiffer rear coils too, but not going to go there. Also have 205/50/15's, But I like my HX rims for the street. The way this suspension is right now, is pretty close to the way a type R is set up. Sorry for the long post.

      Rust Belt Auto no worries on the long post, you gave me exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time to respond in that way.
      Intuitively, I was between 15’s and 14’s for the reasons you mentioned. And was also curious if the eibach pro kit springs would be better spring rates to run (maybe it would be with 15’s). I also decided on the same swaybar setup as well, funnily enough, so I’ll keep and out for any updates on that.
      Thanks again 👍

      @@VeggieLard the nice thing about ground control's, and koni's is the variety of springs you can order, and the adjustability. People seem to like pro's just fine.

    did the d16 head bolts held good? or it didnt work out?

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  2 роки тому

      Regular ARP studs are probably fine. I put oversized studs in mine, because the head kept lifting. Both the tuners had too much timing in the thing. It blew a head gasket again after going oversized, then I dropped the timing back a bunch, and have no problems.

      @@RustBeltAuto oh , i think i didnt ask right , did the head bolts you used for the suspension held ? Cause i thought on using some head bolts myself for the control arm cause my ebay kit does not even have those long bolts... Sorry for my bad english and thanks for answering!

    Now that you've had some time to drive it, how is the difference between this bar and the del sol bar?
    Any complaints about this bar? Seems to be the knockoff of a asr bar
