Embroidery To You how much for 50 patches about that size?
What a marvellous idea! I mostly embroider on a tear away stabilizer, which leaves a bit of the stabilizer visible on the edges... But when I tried embroidering a patch on the water soluble, I didn't feel the outcome was that much better that I'd want to spend all that money, using a water soluble which costs more. Great video! :)

The plastic idea is fantastic! Was it sheets of plastic you bought, or would regular plastic shopping bags or something of that ilk work? Very keen to try.
+ShuffleyCat You can use regular Plastic bags. I get a bunch of plasic bags when we buy our aprons from Fame Fabrics. I use them. Test out different bags and thickness of bags till you get it down. Good Luck HERB

Hi, I'm a rookie at patches and have a little Brother PE770. Someone mentioned that I use Wonder Under. What are your thoughts? Also, was that like a black denim or canvas? I have a collection of patches from my travels. Love them! Thanks!
Not sure what Wonder Under is, we have never used it. You can use patch material or any other fabric. Just digitize according to the fabric you use. Just do not be afraid of trying other types of fabric and have fun.
How many patches do you think could be edged on a Merrow in the 3 minutes and 20 seconds it took to satin stitch that one?
I think you are missing the most important benefit of using your technique : concave/complex edges.

How do you secure the material to the plastic bag once you have hooped it? I have iron-on patches and am wanting to add names to them but my hoops are too big.
Sew your outline stitch and then use spray adhesive kk100
What about the plastic on the back of the badge when you iron or apply heat to it? does it melt away? How can you apply glue on the back if the plastic is there.
The plastic is between 2 picks of patch material. You can put glue on back of patch. The plastic in the middle will not just melt away. Hope this helps you understand the process. Do not be afraid to play around with some material and some plastic bags and see if it can work for you.

How long does 10k stitches take ?
It matters. The speed you are running the machine and the artwork for the design. Things like trims in art will also determine a time for running a 10,000 stitches design.
