My theory is that the kid who was waving to Chris in the last scene is the one with the powers. He saw him fall and saved him from hitting the ground just in time. So I think Life is Strange 2 is gonna be all about this kid with the telekinetic powers and saving Chris will be part of the game which is why it says "Meet Chris again in LIS 2". The reason why I think this, is because there's no way the kid didn't see Chris hovering over the floor. Anyone else would have freaked out or given some kind of reaction at the sight of that. But he just casually waved hello. So yeah, that's what I think. I could be wrong. But this is what came to mind when watching that scene.

@@ryann3189 You have to look at it from both points of view. Sure, maybe for the kid it's kind of upsetting and uncomfortable, and it isn't for every kid, but it's also very important from a moral standpoint for someone to do what the old lady did. She knows what's going on, maybe not 100% but she knows enough, and to just ignore it completely and go about her way saying "Not my problem" would be despicable. Maybe it hurts to consider that your parent isn't really a good person, or that they're in a messed up place and could do something terrible, but it's a truth that has to be faced, and having people who will support you because they care and want you to be safe is very important. What she did was the right thing, what a good person should do, and she shouldn't be criticized for it.
My mom passed last year from a hit and run when she was on a motorcycle. I also grew up with an alcoholic father, so this game kind of hit me hard. Though I wasn't a child when it happened, I think watching this really helped me understand how my younger brother must feel. Thanks for showing me this game Jack
So okay, took me too long, that it's not Chris's powers, it was one of the brother's powers that saved him from falling down when he climbed up the tree house. Goddamn. This is really amazing. I'm super excited for Life Is Strange 2.
I have to say, this is one of the only times I have ever seen abuse portrayed accurately (at least according to my experience). Abusers aren't all bad, especially not abusive parents. Whether they are capable of showing it in a healthy way or not, they love their children, and that love shows through. Which is part of what makes it so painful: you know they love you, but they hurt you anyways. It's horribly conflicting, and that conflict is often worse than the abuse itself.
Not all parents who are abusive love their children. Some do 'love' their kids but are unable to cope or deal with them and resort to violence. But there are many abusive parents who dont care. It's a very complex issue but violence is NEVER okay and theres always other options.
Talking about different characters, I have a theory. A game theo-wait, no. I mean a fan theory. I think the kid's mom is actually Max from Life is strange. She looks like her in the photo.
I was gonna say--every single last one of those "EXTREME!!!!!" options with the squiggling zap outline just seemed _made_ for Jack. XD It's pretty much the way he talks anyway. "YEAH!! GO BILLY!" It also reminds me of the trait things in Sims 3 and 4, where you can "PEE LIKE A CHAMPION" and such. :P
Ok so, it makes sense for him to be into comics and stuff. In many situations children from hard families turn to fiction to escape reality but this is from only personal experience. Many of the most creative people you may meet are the saddest.
I agree, but you say that like escape is the only inspiration for creativity. Some of the greatest creativity can come from appreciating the beauty of the world we live in :)
if they really wanted to tie this story in with life is strange, i think it’d be cool if chris’ mom would’ve gotten into a car accident with chloe’s dad who died in life is strange. that would have been interesting.
Yeah that would've been very interesting & then fast forward into the future & now Victoria Chase is actually Chris's stepmom & helping Charles get over the grief of losing Emily. While players get to see a very new & different side of Victoria.
Who knows, maybe this takes place in the timelime where chloe was hit by a car, maybe that was chris' mom driving the suv.. So many options and possible relations
I feel so bad for Chris. My dad was an alcoholic, he was never physically abusive to me, but when he would get drunk... let's just say I had to learn how to be an adult at a very early age. And I'm still 13 right now. So that just gives you an even bigger idea of how young I was. My dad is much better about it now, even though he shouldn't drink at all now, he at least doesn't get drunk. I'm glad he did though, i wouldnt be where I am if he hadn't.
It does hit really close to home, although my father wasnt an alcoholic, the anger problems and the kids fear hit really close. The first scene especially.
Mantriod is probably what the imagination of this 9-10 year old boy changes the man who killed his mother in the hit and run. There is no face to mantriod because they never found the person who did the hit and run. That’s why mantriod says your chasing ghosts and why he says it’s all your faults. It’s his own mind/imagination. The man villain of his imagination is the one who to his mother from him. It’s why with the shark car early in the level, the captain spirit intervention of the car hitting the pedestrian is so symbolic. He wishes he could have done that for his mother. Just 1 free episode and so much to look into.
that newspaper talking about the shooting. so that implies that captain spirit takes places after life is strange 2, and sean & daniel are already living in a different house, with a family member maybe? so perhaps they don't make it to puertos lobos? we'll find out i suppose..
By the end of season 2 episode one, Sean and Daniel aren't here yet nor have they passed Chris' house yet, my guess is they'll pass his house in episode 3-5 and either we'll see some stuff with Daniel and Chris' powers or we'll get a cliffhanger, where in episode 5 they find Chris, which would be lame because we just saw it happen here, but it's clear Daniel has gotten better with his powers, or Chris just discovered that he can levitate or telekinesis, my guess is this is later on in the story and Daniel saved Chris.
Well if you still watch Jack then you’ll probably know what’s happened now! Spoilers: Episode 2, Sean and Daniel run to their grandparents house which is the woman who came to the door. (Claire & Stephen) Daniel is the one who has powers and saved Chris so Chris does not have any powers. Daniel and Christ make fast friends after this and what happens next is what you decide! (But they do leave in the end of Episode 2)
Friend: "can i borrow a dollar?" Me: "I'm broke." Friend: "oof Imma beat u up now😂" Me: "I'm too depressed to care so ok." Friend: pretends to punch me* this is an actual inside joke that me and my best friend have
STOP! I discovered a conspiracy, the main characters name is Chris. He is a superhero and he says "superheroes don't swear" Chris Evans Plays Captain America, who is also a superhero. And in age of Ultron he says "Language!" When Tony swears. Chris in Adventures of Captain Spirit is just Captain America when he was younger.
I don't know what's worse, losing a parent or child to a disease that takes them slowly or BANG, just dead in an instant from an accident or even murder, on one hand you got disease which gives time to prepare and be as ready as one can be, while also being able to do everything you want and need to do with your loved one(s) living every day with them as the last while still on this Earth, but it's also horrific, full of pain and suffering watching loved ones become shells of their former selves, then on the other hand just having a loved one be there one second then just gone the next without any warning is also just Heart wrenching and Earth shattering, either way losing a parent and or child is just the worst feeling in the World
Aldo Parziale I think it’s the disease or dying slowly. you know they suffered through a lot just to not make it through it all. it’s always something that presses on your conscious once you think of that person you once held so dearly. you cant help but think “im the one that made them suffer through it all. im the reason they kept fighting. I inflicted pain on the one person who meant most to me.” but it’s not like i know anything about that.. pffftt
I think it varies. For me, watching my grandpa die of cancer gave me time to adjust to the idea of him being gone from my life, and I was able to make his end of life as good as possible.
This really hits home for me too Idk I started crying when his dad told him to stop whining I just never had a good relationship with my parents I want to love them but they've hurt me in so many ways and it's so difficult when you have to live with them through the bad and good days
At first I thought this game was for kids. I soon realized that it's for us all. As someone who experienced the same stuff from family members this game hits home hard for me.
It actually makes sense now... 2nd episode is in snow so we're gonna meet captain spirit in LiS 2 and we're going to teach daniel to help others... maybe there will be a standoff with his father
Samuel kavala it’s really funny because that’s what it’s actually like... I mean, there’s a lot less of all that stuff and more “team building” and that one pastor trying to be cool
Jack, if you think about it BtS added a lot to lore of LiS if you think about it this way. It hints heavily that Rachel has some sort of supernatural powers. From the wind when she sets fire to the forest to the fire itself raging put of control until she gets hospitalized. My theory is that Rachel reached out to Max for two reasons. One, because she had the potential for supernatural abilities and two she was close to Chloe and could help Chloe solve the mystery of her murder. She conjured the storm from her grief and anger and lead Max through the case. However, Rachel always gets what she wants and she wanted her Chloe back, which is why the storm hits Arcadia Bay even after Max solves the mystery and gets Jefferson arrested. It's also why the storm stops if you sacrifice Chloe. In that ending Jefferson is put behind bars and Rachel and Chloe are reunited.
Rikusgirl001 this is a really great theory, and actually brings light to the powers aspect (unlike the actual game- which was a massive disappointment for me)
Its a shame you couldn't listen to the music in this game, i understand the copyright issues but it would be nice if you took a minute to listen to a couple songs from the soundtrack, especially Death with dignity, it the base song for the game. :)
I’m glad that no matter what, kids are keeping their imagination with them through all of the pain that they have to go through. Stay strong Captain Spirit...
Holy shit coming back to this after LIS 2 makes so much more sense, at 1:43:00 ish you see Daniel and Sean and in LIS 2 Daniel has telekinesis so Daniel saved captain spirit from falling.

I don't think Jack realizes how spot-on he is about parenting when he speaks. When he spoke about Chris's grades, that is exactly what I wished someone had done for me.
Someone Something she ended being right though
@@ryann3189 Are you dumb? She was being sweet and caring. It's great she was concerned about his dad. You're just a terrible human being
StinkySlinky that lady ends up being in lis2 as daniel and sean’s grandma, she’s just a sweet woman looking out for a kid with an abusive father
My mom passed last year from a hit and run when she was on a motorcycle. I also grew up with an alcoholic father, so this game kind of hit me hard. Though I wasn't a child when it happened, I think watching this really helped me understand how my younger brother must feel. Thanks for showing me this game Jack
I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️
Well done for putting it out there and realising what it means
Kelsey Parsons I’m so sorry for your loss
Thank you all so much for the comments 💗
It made me so anxious when he took so long in the bedroom

Omg, same.
same here
So okay, took me too long, that it's not Chris's powers, it was one of the brother's powers that saved him from falling down when he climbed up the tree house. Goddamn. This is really amazing. I'm super excited for Life Is Strange 2.
Yep
I'm pretty sure its his but that reminds me of Beyond Two Souls

I have to say, this is one of the only times I have ever seen abuse portrayed accurately (at least according to my experience). Abusers aren't all bad, especially not abusive parents. Whether they are capable of showing it in a healthy way or not, they love their children, and that love shows through. Which is part of what makes it so painful: you know they love you, but they hurt you anyways. It's horribly conflicting, and that conflict is often worse than the abuse itself.
Guy ultimatecyberdog it goes without saying most parents love their children but some parents are doucebags
You're looking at the more decent parents there. There's also abuse from parents that either don't give a shit or actively hate the child.
Enrique me no
Not all parents who are abusive love their children. Some do 'love' their kids but are unable to cope or deal with them and resort to violence. But there are many abusive parents who dont care. It's a very complex issue but violence is NEVER okay and theres always other options.
Guy ultimatecyberdog that sounds like exactly like something a abuser would say
I love how they tied the 2nd part in without giving anything away.
Anyone notice how the truck in the garage is the same one Chloe found in the junkyard? YA’LL I’M SHOOK
This does take place after LIS, though. It's just the same model of truck.

Talking about different characters, I have a theory. A game theo-wait, no. I mean a fan theory. I think the kid's mom is actually Max from Life is strange. She looks like her in the photo.
I loved your OVER THE TOP reactions when there was the possibility of using the POWER option :D
I did TOOOOOOOOOO
What time?
I was gonna say--every single last one of those "EXTREME!!!!!" options with the squiggling zap outline just seemed _made_ for Jack. XD It's pretty much the way he talks anyway. "YEAH!! GO BILLY!" It also reminds me of the trait things in Sims 3 and 4, where you can "PEE LIKE A CHAMPION" and such. :P
MEGA CLEAN
Everyone's talking about how it connects to all the other games while I'm here connecting the symbolism of Chris persona to his life situation
Jack: Thats not helpful

Ok so, it makes sense for him to be into comics and stuff. In many situations children from hard families turn to fiction to escape reality but this is from only personal experience.
Many of the most creative people you may meet are the saddest.
I agree, but you say that like escape is the only inspiration for creativity. Some of the greatest creativity can come from appreciating the beauty of the world we live in :)
“I don’t want to antagonize him!” Does everything to antagonize the dad 😂
if they really wanted to tie this story in with life is strange, i think it’d be cool if chris’ mom would’ve gotten into a car accident with chloe’s dad who died in life is strange. that would have been interesting.
tHATS WHAT I WAS THINKING

@Saturn -Kun well normal as in abusive parents behavior normal but yeah.
@Saturn -Kun im so sorry for you. i truly am. i hope your parent wasn't like this at all. or said any threat
It does hit really close to home, although my father wasnt an alcoholic, the anger problems and the kids fear hit really close. The first scene especially.
I was expecting Mantroid to look like his dad from all his hidden fears of his dad's low key abuse.
High key*
Mantroid is a combination of the street signs where his mum died
I know that, that's why i said "i was expecting"
Mantriod is probably what the imagination of this 9-10 year old boy changes the man who killed his mother in the hit and run. There is no face to mantriod because they never found the person who did the hit and run. That’s why mantriod says your chasing ghosts and why he says it’s all your faults. It’s his own mind/imagination. The man villain of his imagination is the one who to his mother from him. It’s why with the shark car early in the level, the captain spirit intervention of the car hitting the pedestrian is so symbolic. He wishes he could have done that for his mother. Just 1 free episode and so much to look into.

9:20 - 9:30 FORESHADOWING! Agh! That’s so cool, how it mirrors the end of Life is Strange 2: Episode 2!!
that newspaper talking about the shooting. so that implies that captain spirit takes places after life is strange 2, and sean & daniel are already living in a different house, with a family member maybe? so perhaps they don't make it to puertos lobos? we'll find out i suppose..
Jess Jackalope this says « one week ago », so I don’t know if you are aware of it by now, but Sean and Daniel travel and they’ll pass by this place.
Emilie Poirier I played the first episode. When do they pass it?
By the end of season 2 episode one, Sean and Daniel aren't here yet nor have they passed Chris' house yet, my guess is they'll pass his house in episode 3-5 and either we'll see some stuff with Daniel and Chris' powers or we'll get a cliffhanger, where in episode 5 they find Chris, which would be lame because we just saw it happen here, but it's clear Daniel has gotten better with his powers, or Chris just discovered that he can levitate or telekinesis, my guess is this is later on in the story and Daniel saved Chris.
I don’t really know when, but in the trailer of episode 2 there is snow so it must be close
Well if you still watch Jack then you’ll probably know what’s happened now!
Spoilers:
Episode 2, Sean and Daniel run to their grandparents house which is the woman who came to the door. (Claire & Stephen) Daniel is the one who has powers and saved Chris so Chris does not have any powers. Daniel and Christ make fast friends after this and what happens next is what you decide! (But they do leave in the end of Episode 2)

I discovered a conspiracy, the main characters name is Chris. He is a superhero and he says "superheroes don't swear"
Chris Evans Plays Captain America, who is also a superhero. And in age of Ultron he says "Language!" When Tony swears. Chris in Adventures of Captain Spirit is just Captain America when he was younger.

I know this is a joke but..just saying Captain America was raised in a way earlier year than this kid X3

I don't know what's worse, losing a parent or child to a disease that takes them slowly or BANG, just dead in an instant from an accident or even murder, on one hand you got disease which gives time to prepare and be as ready as one can be, while also being able to do everything you want and need to do with your loved one(s) living every day with them as the last while still on this Earth, but it's also horrific, full of pain and suffering watching loved ones become shells of their former selves, then on the other hand just having a loved one be there one second then just gone the next without any warning is also just Heart wrenching and Earth shattering, either way losing a parent and or child is just the worst feeling in the World
This is very true
Sad but true :(
Aldo Parziale I think it’s the disease or dying slowly. you know they suffered through a lot just to not make it through it all. it’s always something that presses on your conscious once you think of that person you once held so dearly. you cant help but think “im the one that made them suffer through it all. im the reason they kept fighting. I inflicted pain on the one person who meant most to me.”
but it’s not like i know anything about that.. pffftt
I think it varies. For me, watching my grandpa die of cancer gave me time to adjust to the idea of him being gone from my life, and I was able to make his end of life as good as possible.
Chris's dad abused him Chris fell off a tree and got super powers-- that's gonna be a great one for the therapy group
Doesn't explain how he got his powers
Could have been the other kid with the super powers.
Cherokee C. C. The game wasn't fucking based around the other kid so no the fuck it wasnt

Went to go check if Daniel was the one who saved Captain Spirit, it was true...
and he opened the little door when he was in the tree house!
So, he has to be in Daniel's line of vision, but he isn't actually allowed to interact with Daniel.
But he *thinks* the powers are his own super powers.
The part where Chris PULVERIZES the CANS reminds me of the first time I crushed a can I felt like a god
At first I thought this game was for kids. I soon realized that it's for us all. As someone who experienced the same stuff from family members this game hits home hard for me.

Cue Edna "NO CAPES!"
Rikusgirl001 this is a really great theory, and actually brings light to the powers aspect (unlike the actual game- which was a massive disappointment for me)
I am MINDBLOWN by this. Everything you said makes so much sense. O_O
But thats just a theory! A GAME THEORY! Thanks for commenting!

The whole "No music" is so super awkward honestly. Makes me realize how important music/BG sound can actually can be.
Probably at least 50% of the cringe was directly caused by lack of music.
Yet another thing we can blame youtube for.
I don’t like ingame music honestly
Wolfsong 27 no it’s not, the music is owned by the original owners, UA-cam is just scared of getting sued

Its a shame you couldn't listen to the music in this game, i understand the copyright issues but it would be nice if you took a minute to listen to a couple songs from the soundtrack, especially Death with dignity, it the base song for the game. :)

I don't think Jack realizes how spot-on he is about parenting when he speaks. When he spoke about Chris's grades, that is exactly what I wished someone had done for me. Encourage my interests in art and music. Once I noticed that my own kids are interested in art, music, and gaming. I'm putting things in front of them that will deepen their understanding so that they have multiple paths to hone in on and choose from when they get older.
