Do mesh bait bags ACTUALLY work? Sheepshead and Black Drum bait

- I have seen several people that swear by these mesh bait bags for catching Sheepshead and Black Drum. I don't believe anything I hear and only half of what I read. I had to try this for myself to see if it was the best thing going. I have another pack in the freezer and will re-test this theory sometime soon.

Catch Mud Crabs under "stuff", below the high tide line (WEAR GLOVES, oyster cuts are nasty). The purple crabs with spots and striped legs are stone crabs and are illegal to possess.
Catch Sea Urchins on pilings and other structure below the high tide line (WEAR GLOVES, the spines are non-venomous but can leave splinters and oyster cuts are nasty), I recommend using a crab net.

Fished morehead last Wed and the bait bags do work. Caught 2 black drum in the rain. Try the shrimp on the mesh it kept the bait theives in check.
I will put shrimp in the next batch. Thanks!
Shrimp in the bags worked well for me today in Louisiana. Crab is too messy. Tide to high to get oysters.
We use a system here on the Florida gulf coast in the Panhandle that is highly successful.. We don't have many clams so we use oysters for sheepshead and black drum.
We make hundreds of bait bags during Salmon snagging season in New Mexico. Best trotline bait for cats
nice haul, i enjoyed watching you fish and hearing the waves lapping and the cars going overhead 😊
I tried those mesh bags a few years back.. The bait stealers (black bass and pinfish) wore them out. It was summer time however. I guess they aren't around in the winter?
They are gone for the most part, I did catch one black bass on a mesh bait bag.
Same here. Mesh bags were a disaster when the bait stealers were around. I never fish when there aren't bait stealers so they don't work for me.
used the mesh bags on dock, not far from where you are now, and they produced when i could see sheephead around piling. other wise pinfish and puffers took over.
Hey man great video but question how long do you think the black drum and Sheepshead are going to be there in Moorhead and is this the bridge at Beaufort Inlet?
I’m not sure really, I had a hard time tracking them down this fall. Fish do what they want and every year is different. Bridge from Morehead to Beaufort.
that's what i love, a man that knows how to use a sewing machine and fish too 😊
I was thinking of doing the same. I appreciate the insight.

Hi funny thing is that we fished today (December 3) on port charlotte punta gorda can we saw a whole school of black drum near the pier and bridges and we couldn’t catch because apparently I was just told that is mating season
You must be on the Carolina coast. I bought some finger gauze tubes to inject my oysters into. I can buy a pint of raw oysters already shucked at Publix seafood. I saw where you can load the chopped oysters into a pastry press or bag and use it to fill the bags. You don’t even have to sew the tubes just close both ends with the hook. Bottom sweeper or swinging football jigs work well with these baits. Good show!
NC coast, yes finger gauze was on my radar as well. I’m not giving up on this, just didn’t work that day.
far out haha they do work really well. might give this trick a go i mean i saw it a lot being used for trout fishing and sturgeon as well so why can't it work on more aggressive saltwater species.
it works but it can easily get your hook bent too. it missed a giant sheepshead but my hook bent
Did the fishing pick up after we talked to you yesterday out there?
Short Black Sea Bass was all I caught all day. That’s fishing.
Dang! Ya it was slow for sure, but it was awesome to see you out there hope we do better next time
Where do you buy the mesh bags??
I have some sewing that needs done, all kidding aside, you can probably freeze those and have them all year
I’m not going to use these again. The fish mash the bait out of them too easily. Just as effective to use other types of bait.
They would be good for catfish where the fish pick up the bait and run with it
We always just took a hoe and scraped the pylons till we got a good cloud then would use shrimp always worked for us
They don't work where um from. They just peck though.... waste of money......
What kind of camera work is this. Why am I looking at huys belly the entire time fishing
where do you shop for your fishing tackle
I don't shop exclusively at one particular shop. I hit up all of the local tackle shops. They all provide something different and I like to spread my money around. I try not to buy online if I can help it.

When You Had Frozen🥶 Your Crab🦀/Oyster Packs, The Frost Killed The Freshness😢😬❗️
ThereFore, I Strongly Suggest Using SeaSalt BeFore Freezing 🥶Your Bait Or AnyThing Else💯💪🏾🎣🙏🏾❗️❗️❗️
awe give it to the pelican 😢
Buffalo bill vibes
Without a shadow of a doubt, good call sir...
they ALWAYS want shrimp! salt or freshwater, they issue is how to keep it on your hook, keep them from stealing all day 😂
Leaving them in kosher salt will make them tough and fresher than freezing
What is that rod reel setup?
