  • After almost 2 years with my FAVORITE Rebel 1100 exhaust, my Two Brothers Racing Comp-S Slip-On, it's time to move on to something different, and hopefully EVEN BETTER! The only thing is, the exhaust that I'm replacing my TBR with isn't exactly what I'd have called the best exhaust for the Honda Rebel 1100 if you'd have asked me a few months ago...in fact, I've even said before that I'm NOT a fan of this muffler...
    BUT times change, and I'm confident now that my new Coffman's Thunder exhaust is the BEST exhaust option for my Rebel 1100! I'm SO STOKED on my upgrade and can't wait for all the benefits of having the Thunder on my bike now!

    Having just bought my 1100 DCT, I'm really looking forward to see what options you explore for saddlebags. My friend has sent me to your channel a ton of times and I finally pulled the trigger this weekend on a GORGEOUS burgandy 1100 DCT over the weekend. Since then, I've been exploring your videos for information and the number one thing I want is saddlebags!

    I have the Coffman shorty exhaust on my 2018 Rebel 500 and it sounds good with the baffle in. As you ease off the throttle it burps and makes other cool noises. Their customer service is excellent as I had talked to Mrs. Coffman while ordering. The shorty leaves you plenty of room for larger bags. Good choice you made!

    Congrats on the Coffman's Thunder! I think you'll really enjoy the product... the construction and customer support can't be matched! I was grateful to actually meet Wyatt Coffman and visit their facility in Ukiah, CA during on my return trip following the 2021 Scooter Cannonball Run. They make everything in-house, so they have fantastic quailty control and the ability to rapidly make changes according to customer feedback. Wyatt is great to work with for custom projects and he's eager to try new solutions with his customers.
    The ability to carry larger, symmetric panniers is fantastic for touring. If you and Nina are riding separate bikes on your trips, then you might look at something like the DrySpec D38 dry bag to strap across your back seat. That's the setup that I use on my Rebel for touring... plenty of space for all my touring and camping gear.
    BTW... how did you get back and forth from those private test roads in Mexico for your high-speed runs? 🤣👍 --QM

      That’s awesome that you were able to see their facility! I’m sure that was super neat to check out. You can tell Wyatt and everyone over there love what they do and stand behind their work!
      As for the trip to Mexico…let’s just say it was an arduous journey, but sometimes that’s what it takes to get the people the content they deserve!! 😂🤘🏻

      @@LifeOfBurch Hey you seem to have to done alot of changes to your bike. I was wondering if you know the center to center spacing between the handlebar clamps. I am trying to put single piece risers on my bike and most manufacturers make risers for harleys and indians which work with 3.5 spacing between the handlebar clamp bolts center to center. I fucking hate the rox riser pivoting risers. Cant find a good handlebar for this bike either as the bars are 1" that taper to a 7/8 and the bar has to have tbw inserts in it. I am 5:10 as well but the reach is getting uncomfortable for me.

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  Рік тому

      @@gsin311 I’m not sure of the spacing, but another thing to consider is you’ll have to drill out the triple tree. The bolts for the Rebel risers are 12mm and Harleys are 1/2”. I've noticed Coffman gaining more and more popularity over the past year or so. Probably has to do with the fact they don't rake you over the coals for the price of it, compared to other shorty exhausts. It helps they sound good, with or without the baffle.

I'm planning to get the SW Motec Legend bags, as soon as I can pool together the >$1000 for 55L of storage, and I expect it to fit with this exhaust. It's also way easier to lift the rear fork now without the original suitcase exhaust. Mine has browned up a little bit after seeing some inevitable rain on an 1100 mile trip, but I expect it will clean up with some soap and water.

      Nevermind looked it up and they don't make one for the Pan America.

      Thanks man!! Sucks they don’t make one for the Pan America though. Meet up is going to be Saturday, April 29th! I haven’t announced it yet, but I’ll give you exclusive access to the info since you helped me out so much 🤘🏻 “Official” announcement coming this week!

    Can I buy the old one?

    Get an ATV lounge. Way more useable storage, a plush seat for Nina and armrests you can use while cruising and no clearance issues.

    I like my low mount Two Brothers. Will be interested in this European comparison.

      I considered the low mount TBR, but I just don’t like the way it looks personally. Plus it’s still ever so slightly upswept, so I’m not sure it would fit with the big ol’ bags I have planned 👀

      @LifeOfBurch I have the low mount TBR with large SW-Motech soft bags, and haven't had any issues

    Burch said he didn’t like their red logo on the exhaust because it made it not look good/clean but got excited about the red in the shock hahaha 😂

      @LifeOfBurch  Рік тому

      I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s totally different in my head 😂 One’s a nice clean pop of color, the other’s a big ol’ advertisement of a logo!

    Do they make this exhaust for the 300/500 frame too or is it strictly only the 1100? I'm slowly building up my 2018 300 due to everything being able to move up to the 500 with me later when I sell the 300. I've been pretty torn between the Arrow exhaust and the TBR for a while but I don't like upswept so this thing looks perfect!

      Unfortunately they don’t make this one for the 300/500, but they do offer their shorty model for the 300/500- coffmansexhaust.com/products/honda-cmx-300-500-rebel-2017-2021-shorty-exhaust

      Random question, but where do you live man? I have something in the works, but need a Rebel 300/500 owner in CA.

    Does it work for a 2023 touring with hard saddle bags?

      Sure does! Check out “Honda Rebel 1100 World” on Facebook if you haven’t already. A couple others have posted pics of their 1100T with this exhaust already 🤘🏻

    Now I’m hesitating between the shorty Coffman or this version…. It does look good

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  Рік тому +1

      I think this one gives the bike a more “complete” look than the shorty if that makes sense. BUT if I knew that I’d never have a passenger on my bike, I’d probably go with the shorty so I could remove my exhaust bracket/foot peg bracket for a cleaner look 🤌🏻

    The only gripe I have with this pipe, I wish it was longer, but they couldn't do it without changing the whole process

    • @LifeOfBurch
      @LifeOfBurch  Рік тому +4

      Interesting. I like it BECAUSE it’s not longer (that’s she said??). I feel like if they made it any longer it would look out of place unless they increased the diameter of it too. Otherwise it would look like a pencil strapped to the side of the bike 😂

      I wish it was shorter so I can hear it more whilst riding lol
