I have the Coffman shorty exhaust on my 2018 Rebel 500 and it sounds good with the baffle in. As you ease off the throttle it burps and makes other cool noises. Their customer service is excellent as I had talked to Mrs. Coffman while ordering. The shorty leaves you plenty of room for larger bags. Good choice you made!
Congrats on the Coffman's Thunder! I think you'll really enjoy the product... the construction and customer support can't be matched! I was grateful to actually meet Wyatt Coffman and visit their facility in Ukiah, CA during on my return trip following the 2021 Scooter Cannonball Run. They make everything in-house, so they have fantastic quailty control and the ability to rapidly make changes according to customer feedback. Wyatt is great to work with for custom projects and he's eager to try new solutions with his customers. The ability to carry larger, symmetric panniers is fantastic for touring. If you and Nina are riding separate bikes on your trips, then you might look at something like the DrySpec D38 dry bag to strap across your back seat. That's the setup that I use on my Rebel for touring... plenty of space for all my touring and camping gear. BTW... how did you get back and forth from those private test roads in Mexico for your high-speed runs? 🤣👍 --QM
That’s awesome that you were able to see their facility! I’m sure that was super neat to check out. You can tell Wyatt and everyone over there love what they do and stand behind their work! As for the trip to Mexico…let’s just say it was an arduous journey, but sometimes that’s what it takes to get the people the content they deserve!! 😂🤘🏻
@@LifeOfBurch Hey you seem to have to done alot of changes to your bike. I was wondering if you know the center to center spacing between the handlebar clamps. I am trying to put single piece risers on my bike and most manufacturers make risers for harleys and indians which work with 3.5 spacing between the handlebar clamp bolts center to center. I fucking hate the rox riser pivoting risers. Cant find a good handlebar for this bike either as the bars are 1" that taper to a 7/8 and the bar has to have tbw inserts in it. I am 5:10 as well but the reach is getting uncomfortable for me.
@@gsin311 I’m not sure of the spacing, but another thing to consider is you’ll have to drill out the triple tree. The bolts for the Rebel risers are 12mm and Harleys are 1/2”. I’ve looked into doing it too and pretty much any good option you’d need to drill out the triple tree, which I just don’t know if I’m ready to do 😅

I put on my Coffman exhaust a couple weeks ago. Love it! Also, I have to rave about their customer service and the fact that (for me) they are a local small business.
Having just bought my 1100 DCT, I'm really looking forward to see what options you explore for saddlebags. My friend has sent me to your channel a ton of times and I finally pulled the trigger this weekend on a GORGEOUS burgandy 1100 DCT over the weekend. Since then, I've been exploring your videos for information and the number one thing I want is saddlebags!
Just put mine on today. Left the baffle in and holy shit this pipe is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. A good base full sound that isn’t overly obnoxious while riding. And damn it looks so good! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've noticed Coffman gaining more and more popularity over the past year or so. Probably has to do with the fact they don't rake you over the coals for the price of it, compared to other shorty exhausts. It helps they sound good, with or without the baffle.
Agreed!! I forgot to mention price in the video, but the Coffman’s Thunder is $400 including the baffle, and the TBR is over $600 once you add the optional baffle! 😳😳😳
But when I think about it snow bite will get stoked at the exhaust for a throwback mention in the video. The same reason applies to two brothers if not three
I will say with the baffle sounded PERFECT to me! I would have preferred the look and sound overall of that Koffman w/ baffle. I hope they do the etching option publicly (even if it's an additional charge) so I can get my emblem etched in too!
I love my Coffman's Thunder. Super high quality and sounds nice. The custom engraving is awesome!! Since you have the passenger seat, you will need a 3/4" spacer to mount the exhaust. I have some extras if they didn't include one.
Dude I don’t own a motorcycle and watched this whole video because of how well it is done. Pretty refreshing commentary 👍 this is how all review videos should be done.

Can’t go wrong with either of em! Especially if you don’t need bags, the TBR will sound way gnarlier for ya 🤘🏻 Thanks for watching and commenting brotha!!
I was looking at getting a coffman thunder for my Rebel 1100 already, but seeing the new logo design on yours has sealed it for me. Definitely gonna get one now.
It sounds soooooo good. I just can’t wrap my head around the size. I’m a lover of big pipes. (Not the stock suitcase) think scout bobber. Love that they personalised if for you
The Coffmans exhaust is a winner. I would keep the baffle in, but it did sound good without it. Any bike I buy has gotta have storage, and with the straight design allowing for larger bags, it's a no brainer to use it....
Great vids. On your previous review of the 1100T, you noted how difficult it may be to upgrade the exhaust because of the bags. Looks like a great solution right here. My wife is looking for a lighter bagger. She is tired of 'pushing' around her Vaquero 1700. The 1100T may be the solution, but she does not enjoy the refrigerator exhaust sound, out of the box.
@@LifeOfBurch Absolutely beautiful, and extremely well made from what we can see in the video! I should (finally) be getting my 1100 this year. The pitch sort of reminds me of a Ducati actually. So I can see what you mean by more refined. If there was a slider bar, Coffmans is towards the Ducati end while TBR is more towards the Harley end.
Even without the baffle it’s surprisingly MUCH quieter than the TBR when cruising at speed, and then gets loud and throaty once you punch the throttle. My passenger never had an issue with the TBR’s sound level in the first place though, even on multi-hour trips.
Should definitely look to get the shad sh36 side cases for your rebel if you are looking for more room! Looks great and hold a full faced helmet in both

Do they make this exhaust for the 300/500 frame too or is it strictly only the 1100? I'm slowly building up my 2018 300 due to everything being able to move up to the 500 with me later when I sell the 300. I've been pretty torn between the Arrow exhaust and the TBR for a while but I don't like upswept so this thing looks perfect!
Unfortunately they don’t make this one for the 300/500, but they do offer their shorty model for the 300/500- coffmansexhaust.com/products/honda-cmx-300-500-rebel-2017-2021-shorty-exhaust
Will this work with the hard bags on the 1100T "deluxe" version? It looks like it, but can't be sure. I'm debating on which model to get, but coming from a Harley street glide I like the looks of the T with 300 fewer lbs.
It should work fine I'd guess, just from the placement and size... I have some Viking saddlebags that are a bit larger on mine (had to fabricate my own mounts since they don't make it for the 1100) and they work great with my Coffman's Thunder.
I think this one gives the bike a more “complete” look than the shorty if that makes sense. BUT if I knew that I’d never have a passenger on my bike, I’d probably go with the shorty so I could remove my exhaust bracket/foot peg bracket for a cleaner look 🤌🏻
Sure does! Check out “Honda Rebel 1100 World” on Facebook if you haven’t already. A couple others have posted pics of their 1100T with this exhaust already 🤘🏻

Random question, but where do you live man? I have something in the works, but need a Rebel 300/500 owner in CA.
@@LifeOfBurch I'm just north of Seattle up in WA state. Let me know if you ever need some rain or clouds 👍🏻
Now I’m hesitating between the shorty Coffman or this version…. It does look good
I think this one gives the bike a more “complete” look than the shorty if that makes sense. BUT if I knew that I’d never have a passenger on my bike, I’d probably go with the shorty so I could remove my exhaust bracket/foot peg bracket for a cleaner look 🤌🏻
Man, I want a custom exhaust design now XD
Do ittt 👀👀👀
Can I get the tbr I’ve been wanting to try it out
Will this work on the 500?
Does it work for a 2023 touring with hard saddle bags?
Sure does! Check out “Honda Rebel 1100 World” on Facebook if you haven’t already. A couple others have posted pics of their 1100T with this exhaust already 🤘🏻
