FIRST Inspection For Our DIY HOME BUILD | Compaction, Footers, Rebar. DONE!

- Now that we've finished digging the hole for the root cellar we create the pad and get ready for our first concrete pour. This week we compacted the pad, dug the footers, put in rebar and passed our first inspection.

Please put protection on your vertical rebar. Bad accidents can happen when someone is falling in. They sell them specially for that purpose. Greetings from Holland and Happy Christmas.

It would have cost more to instead fill in the whole with reinforced concrete, and in the long run, you would have been better off. You would have had a larger more robust cellar, for multi-uses.

The bucket is not sufficient...they do make a plate compactor for the backhoe. Much easier

If I was you, i'd buy some Ic F blocks that way you can cut the one block to where it goes down the side of the form concrete and then leave the other side out so when you pour the walls, it'll flow out the bottom and pour the floor too I just thought that might be a good idea, so that way it'll be insulated on the inside now. Side cause I see Yelp is a 3 inch foam on the inside. Neal side and then you pour the concrete around the center in the center of the phone block. And then they make a very, very good structure for putting in the ground. But if you leave him just sticking. If you pour your pears your foolish and then make the a** AF on top of your footers. And then you pull you inside floor then you'll have a really warm and cool structure in the ground.
