You are most welcome! If you have any questions feel free to drop a comment I usually respond pretty quickly. Like I said in description don’t forget to disconnect hoses prior to pulling pump and don’t forget to reconnect it all and zip tie PTO boot.
@@jetskirehab750 lol my friend and I pulled both pumps last week without disconnecting the hoses... likely will have to do a little repair work to get em installed correctly. I will post an update after our day tomorrow!

I am concerned you overfilled the oil as the hole was at the very top. I ensure the pump is in its proper alignment with hole slightly off center. This allows expansion of the oil.
I used a propane torch on my old wear ring which looked as bad as yours, heat it good and careful and get the screwdriver in behind it and it just bends right out
Not with these wear rings that are 20+ years old. Tried it before and it’s easier just to take 30 seconds to cut ring out. If you didn’t have a jigsaw I would say use freezer method. Thanks for the comment! I haven’t made any videos in a while because I didn’t really gain as much traction as I’d hoped. Have 3-4 new skis since this video I just haven’t showed on the channel 😂

Im at the point where you said you couldnt get the impeller back in and had to shave off some material on each fin. Im nervous to do so, but mine will NOT go back in.
Is it possible to remove the wear ring? I have found with the Delrin wear rings you have to clean the inside of the pump (where the wear ring goes) with a wire wheel to remove any corrosion. Use some grease on impeller as well. If it’s still tight once you put it in you can attach a drill to it and spin it over with some WD40 to “cut in” the impeller to the wear ring
@@jetskirehab750 I dont believe i can remove it without doing so in a destructive manner. I should have done a better job of sanding the inner surface of the housing to get the wear ring to sit in the "largest" housing it can. Im torn between: a) tear out the wear ring and sand down inner surfaces of the housing ($$ for a new wear ring) b) shave off outer edges of impeller to get it to fit. (free solution, but question robustness of an impeller with sanded down fin edges. My guess is I would only have to take ~0.1 to 0.2mm off in total)
@@nathansoley23 personally I would try to remove the wear ring. Even if you have to buy another. That way next time you don’t have a gap in your impeller if you shave it
@@nathansoley23 try to take a flathead scredriver and a hammer from the underside and see if you can get it to punch out. Just work your way around. I’ve done it before
I use a soldering iron to melt a slot in the old wear ring. No damage at all to the housing. Quick too.
Not sure why you remove the clamps , once you remove the bolts and washers the pump will slide off the drive shaft spline
Replacing the wear rings on 2 1994 GTXs tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!

overfilled with oil, leave some open air to allow for expansion and to screw allen bolt in
Awesome video, thanks mate

good video , but next time put jet pump in freezer the wear ring comes out easy and no cutting . keep up with your good videos

wear ring or impeller
When I have the jet pump out the impeller spin free as it can be but when I go to install it it get super tight and almost hard to turn
You probably pinched the thrust washer inside the cone. If it’s not sitting exactly right the pump will bind up.
