I’ve played all of these, and they’re all so awesome. Automata is one of the best games I’ve ever played, and that ending (THAT ending) is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced. Devastation is so wicked, too. It kicked my ass hard until I was able to get myself in sync and finally tear through it.
Oh, and my youngest son thinks Wonderful 101 on Wii U is the greatest game ever. He's a huge Power Rangers fan, and that game is practically made for him.
Astral Chain is my 3rd favorite game period thanks in part to the genre and atmosphere being my favorite in Anime which was thankfully backed with wonderful combat and a cool world with a bunch of detail and even backstory thanks to the interactions with the ARK's citizens. And even the side stories got compelling in a Yakuza-like fashion. Wonderful 101 is my 2nd favorite Platinum game because it is the closest we have to a Gurren Lagann game with some of the most creative combat and set pieces I ever experienced And then most recently, Bayo Origins. Delightful game with the best story Platinum has ever told without Taro complete with unique gameplay haven't been seen since Fromsoft's Cookie and Cream
Vanquish isn’t just one of the greatest 3rd person shooters ever,it’s one of the greatest action games ever created imo. It’s Usain Bolt on cocaine laced steroids gameplay,makes the action of a series like Gears of War feel like a marathon length sludge through knee deep mud. Platinum Games could do no wrong through the 360/PS3 era.
Platinum actually lost quite a few times. I'm not saying this to diminish their success or talent. They made some of the most incredible raw gaming experiences in my opinion. But they also have quite a few failures on their hands, big failures with big consequences which almost bankrupt them. I'm glad they're still in business, though. Can't wait to see what they'll come up with next.
Agreed, though I don’t think anyone would argue that their recent one was probably one of the bigger ones due to it being relatively new! I do hope that whatever they make next will be brilliant!

Platinum always seems to be teetering on the edge, but nothing can take away the amazing things they've accomplished. Bayonetta is a gaming icon, Metal Gear Rising is still relevant and discussed (and memed!) over a decade later, and NieR Automata is simply a triumph. Here's hoping the bumps in their road can be over and we can have them sailing smoothly
I really need to pick Automata back up and play through that, especially since I’ve played through Nier Replicant and completely LOVED it. I didn’t get around to upgrading all the weapons, but I did the majority of them, and I did do all the sidequests! That game is truly something special, and I hear Automata is even more so.
yes in reality they have recently released games like Sol Cresta no-one talks about because we identify Platinum Games with Bayonetta and we tend to treat them like a new ninja theory or team ninja. The reality is they experiment outside of the so called "stylish action" genre quite a bit more .. Cereza... also wonderful 101 has a physical in the west and it's more well known I guess... Sol Cresta is a solid shmup (Nier Automata also had a shmup component that becomes more protagonist with the second play through)
Transformers devastation it's great, sadly has been delisted of all digital stores. Your only chance it's to track down a physical copy but they are kind of expensive.

Its so weird I love Revengence and Transformers devastation (and bayonetta to a lesser extent) to the point where Ill retry everything for S and SS rank, but i HATE nier, which is probably their most popular game outside of bayonetta.

@TheRayCat thought it was a good length. It's also a mission based game, so you'll sometimes want to replay parts as well

Platinum is dying I feel, this focus on live service and cancelling cool new ips and hideki quitting.
