I owned the original Ka50 Black Shark. I have the paper-based manual, but wow! over 500pages? It took me forever to get off the ground and I eventually got bored and jacked it in. Thanks to your excellent tutorials I am now well and truly on my way and have recommended this series to groups on Steam. Thankyou.
ive owned too the first ka-50 , but i'm not bored , yes that true it take time to learn a part of it .....though there are so many things you should know before going in a real mission . but in the life the good things take time , so dont be bored of that and take your time every night after work or once a week if you have kids and wife ,, trust me at the end when u know how to fly and use weapons at least , it so much amazing
Ka-50 was my first module and turned me off DCS altogether. A poor first choice, I’ve been told it’s one of the hardest.

For anyone in the comments I had this problem MAKE SURE YOUR GENERATORS LH-RH ARE *ON* my SHKVAL wasn't turning on and I didn't know why. Hope this helps someone! (The switches are on the front right panel can be found near your fuel guage)
hi love your tutorials immensly.i notice when you slew the helmet mounted sight on to target it was a very smooth movement.i use the hat switch but it is very jerky ,can you tell me what you use,Thanks

Auto Target turn does not work on my chopper...any tips?
Make sure your heading channel for AP is on and you're not in override mode.
Pull your hand off the stick :D Don't fight with it... It will point where your shkval or eye reticle aims.
[QUESTION]: When I employ weapons such as the Vikhrs, the hover-mode circle and drift-vector line symbology disappear from the center of the HUD and are replaced by Shkval targeting symbology... Is there a way to switch back to "navigation-mode" symbology so that I can see hover-mode status and drift-vector in the HUD again?
I've watched all the tutorials on this chopper and no one addresses how to get back to Nav HUD mode after switching to other modes, which I'm sure is simple , but still has eluded me. I also asked this question on the Hover-mode tutorial vid of yours, since the question relates to both systems. Thanx in advance, and love your vids!

@@hijinxvr1027 Dunno if you figured it out by now, but by default I think your thinking of the backspace key, it re-cages the shkval and removes targeting from the hud.

1 of the 4 buttons you talk about is not for laser to track the target - cause it's done all the time. Laser aims where the shkval is. It's for the combat computer to operate gun - to take target speed into account when aiming... So you can engage with a side gun moving and flying targets as well.
Love this chopper. Only downside of it is that it's rotors breaks so easily sometimes 🙄
when u manoeuver this chopper at high speed its normal the blades breaks , or when you struggle with your stick to turn suddenly right or left , its normal to get a crash also ...so fly like a Professional with your hands on stick and throttle ..;;KA-50 is not an arcade game , its a pure mil sims , think about this and you will do well
And the damn laser burns after a few activations.
omg so many info... is there no easy mode in that game to just flight and shoot. sry i am new in a PC game world , butifull game, there are not so mutch helicopter games, what i know and love is ace combat assault horizons and apache air assault

georgiodavid KA -50 is not an arcade game , that why games and simulations should'nt be in the same box , but unfortunately most people like you say simulation is just a game and nothing else , you wrong man ..;Learning how to start the engine on to use the navigation , weapons and emergency procédures put the level in the same tips as real pilots so do not say anymore its just a game ....apache air assault or ace combat should be fit your preferences

Dcs is a truly great simulation but it is still a game we do not use it for training purposes to become a pilot, we use it to have fun and be entertained . And no we’re definitely not on the same level as real pilot. Dcs has a lot of limits concerning unpublished data. It a a lovely simulation and you should try it for free and see if you like this way of playing the best simulated aircraft with the best graphics currently on the market.
Yes there is an easy version to use or go full sim but 90% of the stuff you can use like the full sim anyways it's a good way to learn an lesson the curve
