Fantastic cover of one of my favorite MTB songs. Paul does an incredible job harmonizing with Charlie. Charlie does this one well. Toy is one of my heroes. I am beholden to him, as I am all vets, for his sacrifices for our freedom. I am still in AWE some 40+ years later of the music he created and left behind. As disco took over the music scene, solidifying the 70s reputation as SUCKY, MTB and few others were making KICK ASS music. I am extremely fortunate to have seen the original band in that era before the untimely death ot Tommy. Music I will never forget and never stop listening to. BBS is a bright spot in these times. One of the best things about BBS is their interpretation of older songs. Another great pick and performance. Giving some love to the Marshall Tucker Band!
Ya well they blew by hiring the wrong guy to play the flute. The flute part in this song is what drew me to MTB in '73 and this guy butchered it. On top of that, he looked like he knew he was butchering it and didn't care...like it was a part of the song nobody cared about. Bullocks!

I just discovered this band about eight months ago didn’t even know they were on the planet… I may have missed out on a lot but I’m making up for it now because these dudes are really killer. Great sounds great choices of songs that they cover and their own songs of really really great I can’t say enough good things about them. They’re just that damn good. God bless Them. They’re bringing back an old way and traditional way of how to play music The right way. They are so good wish out of known about them a long time before this. Like I said I’m making up for it now. Unlike most of y’all listen to them for all these years I’ve got a treasure trove of stuff to go through and it just keeps getting better. Love these dudes. And out of music for a while so hadn’t kept up with much at all too many things happening in my life now that I’ve got my own studio being put up I’m coming across some great music these dudes. I’ll have a good one .And keep rockin. Hope that came out right I’m voice recognition system pretty much sucks and I suck at typing so I think you get the jest.
Marcus James Henderson killin' on flute. The name "Marshall Tucker" came from a piano tuner whose name was found on a key ring in their old rehearsal space. In 1972, they signed with Capricorn Records, the same label that guided The Allman Brothers Band, Wet Willie, and others to national fame.
