Fantastic cover of one of my favorite MTB songs. Paul does an incredible job harmonizing with Charlie. Charlie does this one well. Toy is one of my heroes. I am beholden to him, as I am all vets, for his sacrifices for our freedom. I am still in AWE some 40+ years later of the music he created and left behind. As disco took over the music scene, solidifying the 70s reputation as SUCKY, MTB and few others were making KICK ASS music. I am extremely fortunate to have seen the original band in that era before the untimely death ot Tommy. Music I will never forget and never stop listening to. BBS is a bright spot in these times. Not only is this a wonderful band the fans are the best. I was at a very low point in my life. A friend told me a had to go see the boys. I found myself crying and had so many people asking if I needed a hug. ❤

I have a problem with these guys you call the Marshall Tucker Band just a bunch of guys playing Marshall Tucker music. doug actually said of toy Caldwell there were lots of good guitar Pickers in the Marshall Tucker Band he was just one of them. Hell there was only one and that was TOY Caldwell AND TOMMY it was their band not Doug's .Doug was just a singer. He drugged the band's name into the ground.

Toy and Tommy were exceptionally talented. They were trendsetters in the world of Southern Rock....but, the musicians of the band today are incredible artists who keep that LIVE music flowing as we sing the songs and hum the notes from the past 45 years. God bless every single MTB member, living and passed.

There's no way there be a Marshall Tucker Band if it wasn't for Toy and Tommy Doug should think about that. They gave him his future. Haven't been around any of the band members since the night they were inducted hall of fame. Not personal friends just a fan. It's been a long time.

You can never replace him and as for Tommy there has never been a greater bass solo then the one on the live version of 24 hours at a time They were great musicians and can never be replaced. They were MTB. So sad all the tragedy that happened in the Caldwell family.

Ya well they blew by hiring the wrong guy to play the flute. The flute part in this song is what drew me to MTB in '73 and this guy butchered it. On top of that, he looked like he knew he was butchering it and didn't care...like it was a part of the song nobody cared about. Bullocks!
My wife and I saw BBS last night in NC for the first time. They blew us away. Southern Rock is still alive, and kicking ass! And most of em grew up a few miles from where we live in Georgia.

BSS is great. Charlie Starr and Paul Jackson are one hell of a guitar duo. And nobody covers Skynyrd better than Blackberry Smoke and they do a friggen KILLER job with this Marshall Tucker tune. Hell yeah.

I just discovered this band about eight months ago didn’t even know they were on the planet… I may have missed out on a lot but I’m making up for it now because these dudes are really killer. Great sounds great choices of songs that they cover and their own songs of really really great I can’t say enough good things about them. They’re just that damn good. God bless Them. They’re bringing back an old way and traditional way of how to play music The right way. They are so good wish out of known about them a long time before this. Like I said I’m making up for it now. Unlike most of y’all listen to them for all these years I’ve got a treasure trove of stuff to go through and it just keeps getting better. Love these dudes. And out of music for a while so hadn’t kept up with much at all too many things happening in my life now that I’ve got my own studio being put up I’m coming across some great music these dudes. Met these guys in 2010 in Asheville, NC @ the Warren Haynes X-mas jam.....they were playing a local bar for the “x-mas jam by day” .....I been playing music for 20 + years and have had the opportunity to meet a lot of my hero’s ..... these guys are your favorite band’s , favorite band .......for sure ......Ty Warren Haynes for introducing new artist like this to the most loyal listeners there is period ...they sit down and hung out for a good while ..Charlie spending the most time , and tbh he seemed like an old friend , you haven’t seen in a few years ...you can tell by listening, that they respect the music and the history of each song esp cover songs , and that’s what makes this band special ....check out the cover of Tom Petty’s “You got lucky” by BBS and Amanda Shires ....all time best petty cover imho....

Randomly stumbled across these guys on UA-cam and immediately thought, "When are these guys coming to town?" Saw them live last year and it was the best concert I've been to in years (and I've been to quite a few).

This was the first song I ever heard from The Marshall Tucker Band and I remember seeing them in concert shortly after that self titled first album was released. Make no mistake BBS is the real deal. I saw all the great southern rockers back in the day and these guys are every bit as good as the bands that came out in the early 70's whether they are doing original music or cover tunes,
One day clicking the TV found a BB Smoke outdoor show with everyone's hair blowing in the wind. Checked them out on both U.S. Coasts. Will continue to follow this incredible talent. Thanks guys always getting just the right style, sound, and instruments in just the right place.
I've seen these guys 3 times and everytime they're spot on , its like they're all on the same page every word every note and if they're not then perfection isn't meant to be , a top notch band in a sea of wannabes. It would of been really cool if they had Paul Riddle and Jerry Eubanks sit in on this one. The original Marshall Tucker Band was iconic. True Road Dogs who were all about the Music and their fans. Blackberry Smoke is a class act, Thanks for paying homage to Tommy, Toy, George, Paul, Jerry and Doug.

It would of been really cool if they had Paul Riddle and Jerry Eubanks sit in on this one. The original Marshall Tucker Band was iconic. True Road Dogs who were all about the Music and their fans. Blackberry Smoke is a class act, Thanks for paying homage to Tommy, Toy, George, Paul, Jerry and Doug.
