Take the highway - Lord know's I've been gone too long :-) Real rockers keepin' southern rock tradition alive !! This is it 2010 - greetings from AJ Europe, Norway
The dudes these guys have paid have shaped them into who they are which is awesome their respect for old school and their respect for themselves is unmatched
holy moly....just got back after living overseas for decades and just discovered this band. Being a Southern rock guru LOVE THEM. What a trip this concert is in Sweden...however in my international adventure I met many Europeans, Asians, and South Americans who LOVED Skynyrd, MTB, Allman Bros. and along the way was turned on to a lot of music from their side of the world (Soda Stereo, Grace Nono, Snow Patrol) Music is the glue for all cultures. Carpe diem.
@Curtis Lowe, Just saw them recently at the Master Musicians Festival in my home town in Kentucky and they're awesome!! Paying homage to all of those long time gone great southern rockers from the Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, etc.....
Thank God, finally a band that covers MTB and not "can't you see". MTB had so many great songs. Thanks, Blackberry Smoke ! Thanks edkofuzz for the upload : ) ...cheers!!
Kudos to the person who filmed all the members, instead of focusing on just the singer. Glad to see those old Peavey amps, l reckon it's a Southern thang! One more comment,at 3:16 l hear a Rebel Yell, one in every crowd.
Fantastic american southern rock song, a lot of power. Congratulations for showing all the musicians. Greetings and I hope I can see you soon in Argentina 👏👏🎸🎹🔥
@dregen77 ...... Thanks for posting this. These are all buddies of mine, as I grew up here in Georgia with the Turner brothers (Bass player and drummer). Rock on!!!
Being a Die Hard Lynard Skynard Fan & Having seen the Original Band as well as the New Skynard band, I Am SOO Happy to see Southern Rock IS Alive & Well !! I Just discovered this Band & Love EM. Gonna Buy My Concert Tickets NOW !! They are performing in the Tampa,Fl. Area & I looked em up ! SOO Glad I Did !!
Ya brother they are in Aspen next month and I'm bringing all my friends to this show....they will be blown away! South is going to do again.....boogie time.
Holy cow, what can’t these guys do ...?! from Zeppelin and the Stones to Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, the Allman Bros, and Charlie Daniels... I’m sure Charlie and Blackberry Smoke could cover Beethoven and still rock the house!
Thanks to your post, I decided to look at the tour and see if they are coming to Houston any time soon. They are playing at the Horse Races tomorrow night! Thanks!!!...lol
I love the original version of this song.... no question. However I think it is great that this band cranked up the volume and made it heavier. Its one of those songs, especially the verses/chorus that just needs to be turned up to 11.
My Gawd!!! This sounds as good as the 1973 MTB show up on youtube.. While I love BBS orginal stuff, this cover/tribute to MTB is fckn great!!! Can't wait to see BBS in New Hope at the end of April!!
@orioles57 You should really try to catch them live if you can. They blew me away. The first record is good but the second one, "A Little Piece of Dixie" si simply one of the best records of the decade so far. Don't miss them!
They are going to Mansfield,Pa on Nov 4th. Already booked a room last night. It's a 3 hour drive but I am thinking this could be worth it. To bad it will be too cold to take the bike. They have a great Harley store in Mansfield.
makes you remember that trends come and trends go but quality is forever.....I would go on the Simple Man cruise one week and the blues cruise the next and be in music heaven the whole time....I gotta go on wikki and read up on this band...just found em tonight on channel one directv
I think the might find few people that would enjoy them up here in the northeast. I'm going to check their schedule. I think I would rather see these guys than the current MTB.
That might be true if they were from somewhere else but Blackberry Smoke is from the great state of Georgia as a matter of fact. they have alot of awesome original songs too you should check them out as well they are the new face of southern rock Blackberry Smoke forever

Great video and cover. Reminds me of seeing MTB back in 70's at the Mississippi River Festival at SIUE.
Cool band-they have the true spirit of Southern Rock n Roll, they way it was played back in the mid-70's
Fantastic american southern rock song, a lot of power. Congratulations for showing all the musicians. Greetings and I hope I can see you soon in Argentina

How this isn't one of the biggest bands in the country, I just don't know.
They are going to Mansfield,Pa on Nov 4th. Already booked a room last night. It's a 3 hour drive but I am thinking this could be worth it. To bad it will be too cold to take the bike. They have a great Harley store in Mansfield.
Take the Highway!
That is a nice looking gold Gibson SG.
This is an early '90's Gibson SG-90 that he repainted himself. Charlie did auto body work before doing the band full time.

Pretty good but it misses George McCorkle pumping away on the F#m7b5 in the solo part.
@orioles57 Grab your leather & drag the bike with you ! It will be worth it , they put on a GREAT show.
Nice job, but hard to duplicate the magic of Jerry Eubanks.
What a horrible noise.
RIP Brit Turner
