Another great sounding 5 cylinder is ofc the audi 200 specially with a tune. The video called " Audi 200 Quattro launching with launch control/anti-lag " one of the best sounding clips of an engine on youtube imo.
And ofc Volvo's 5 cylinders are also nice.

LITTLE TIP alex!! MULTI ELECTRODE SPARK PLUGS
ONLY £10.74 INC DELIVERY FOR BOSCH SUPER 4 SPARK PLUGS X5
IVE USED THOSE IN ALL MY CARS apart from my peugeot 407 coupe as its diesel i
buy multi electrode spark plugs they give you a cleaner more accurate spark as you don't lose the gapping over time due to wear and tear its definitely a good thing to do,its not much extra money to buy the multi electrode plugs plus when you get most plugs even the expensive ones dont come with the correct gap plus after you do gap them you end up losing the gapping over time due to wear and tear due to heat etc where as with your multi electrode plugs you dont need to worry about gapping plus the plugs are usually longer lasting plus you can clean them without worrying about bending things so easily

I legit started tearing up hearing it start. I miss my old yellow Coupe Turbo 20v so much. It met its demise in the mountain wall of a tunnel unfortunately after a merc wrecked in front of me and I in him. Walked away from it with just some muscle tears in me back though, so even though I hope it never happens I can say they tolerate crashes at highway speeds relatively well.

ALEX have you ever drove a peugeot 407 coupe 2.7 hdi twin turbo diesel?
mine is 250hp and 400 lb/ft of torque
I fell into mine I found serious rot in my jaguar s-type r sills so needed a car to allow me to take the jag off the road to give me time to fix the car, I seen the Peugeot on facebook for £800 I got it for £700 it was an amazingly tidy example its the dark blue with the white leather and the extra leather dashboard(rare) and is got every single option apart from the electric adjustable suspension (wouldn't want that anyway) i got it cheap because there was a issue with the electrics but i sorted that out no problem and now there way up in value mine is worth easy 3 grand people are realising what they are!
Ive had 307s and a 106 and 206 and my dads 309 before and i always seen peugeots as down market especially when it came to the interior but honestly the interior in the 407 coupe is beautiful!! even the seats rather than you pulling the handle and then sliding it to get in the back you pull the handle and it moves its self electrically!
and its got a nice jbl sound system aswel the only thing that lets the car down is the very of its time non touch screen satnav its a good size but low res and no touch there are android ones out there but its to easy to mess up the sound system as they have a amp from factory so I'm looking at replacing the screen with a android one but leaving the factory radio etc alone
the handling is really good aswel the chassis is really stiff you will notice in pics the doors have bits that stick out of the bottom of the doors that lock into the sills! I've been in 407 estates and 4 doors before but the coupe is a different beast altogether and in person in the rite colour they look great the long nose and short body really suits it plus that engine is nice and tourqey aswel Ive just got a map and intercooler so far but i plan on hybrid turbos and a few other bits im maybe thinking of a big single turbo as that's what land rover did with the same engine so im still trying to decide
Your welcome to drive mine in the summer and do a video on it if you would like? im going to take a road trip to england at some point in summer anyway so i could go somewhere to meet you in summer if you want but honestly alex the car will surprise you so much if it had a jag badge or something from new i would honestly not question it when it comes to quality etc they really changed the car big time from the common 407's the leather dash and nav screen did it i think plus the seats are very smart
      SORRY FOR THE BIG COMMENTS

That car really deserves a full and in depth restoration, especially considering it's in UK and rust is just starting to get really through the paint. And I'm not saying it just because it's an Italian car and I'm Italian!

    • @interceptor-ss8kb
      @interceptor-ss8kb 2 роки тому

Too be fair it's survived well usually they are full of rot by now, not just because they are Italian. The UK climate is car killing heaven, we have salt roads all the way through the winter and mix that with all the rain we get rust takes hold pretty fast. Fords are by far the worst for it.

@@Dave5843-d9m I never said Italian cars are more rusty than others. I said that car needs restoring, with the history it's got and the unicity of the vehicle. A base Ford Focus, unless a particular edition, will never be as valuable as a Fiat Coupe Turbo 20V. The service history shows people really cared about it, and Alex should keep on giving it the love it deserves

As good as Phil sounds, Fabrizio trumps him with the noise of that 5 pot. And just because a car is/can be problematic doesn't mean it isn't a good car. Since he is passing it to me I would love to get some insights on how to properly maintain it and furthermore tune it. As far as I remember, the turbo has been replaced, exhaust was patched up, electrical stuff redone, MAF sensor replaced and some bits that I'm missing.
Good thing is, its bone stock and most of the miles were done by my parents. Many are interested in buying it and my mom insists on selling it, but now that Alex has stepped in, another fiat coupe 20v 5cyl will be reborn! So so so excited!

It was actually my families first car, unfortunately when i was about 4yo (arround 1999) my father was driving with me on the back seat. Those were the days kids still didn't go into kid seats where i'm from so i wasn't even buckled up. We were ascending a mountain so it was a very narrow road, basically if you encounter somebody one has to yield and wait at a bit wider part of the road. So on such road we were frontaly nailed by a speeding drunk truck driver, he just couldn't brake strong enough, my father even stuck it to reverse in time to soften the impact since the road was a cliff too narrow for us to try avoiding it. The impact itself i don't even remember, not even the slightest detail. But i didn't even have a scratch on myself, bruised all over though. The car didn't fare so well unfortunately, the engine was basically in the firewall and front end was just a bunch of metal. It's funny, even to this day my father remembers that car as one of the most fun to drive cars ever, and he is completely not a petrolhead, he just needs to go from point a to point b, and yet, that car was fun to him. That said a lot about it.

It'll be interesting to see how well this car turns out - looks like a pretty solid base to start from. Just about anything mechanical can be sorted, but rampant rust is what kills them eventually. Seeing as it looks like the turbo needs doing anyway, you have the opportunity to go for a bit more power. 280-300bhp is a doddle on these. My last Coupe had EXACTLY double the power of this one and was stupidly fast. If you want to take it a bit further, I reckon 350-375 is the absolute sweet-spot, as long as you upgrade the running gear too. That said, if you want it to be worth something, keep it as close to standard as you can.

I have a base model 16v. The body is in poor shape but it has only about 50k miles. The engine is fantastic, it's the ancillaries and the rest of the car that lets it down. Also the terrible soft-touch plastic on the center console tends to turn into a horrible sticky mess, and there's the really annoying always-on radio circuit (the key has no ACC position, just PARK (for parking lamps only), OFF, ON, and START; the radio is always hot). Mine also has a frequent water leak into the trunk that I haven't been able to pinpoint. It's a fun car when it runs but when it does break I really don't enjoy trying to fix it. Everything seems to have been assembled in such a way as to make it painful to get anything done.
