Fitbit Luxe has an Always On Display!
It does now, yes. When it was first released and at the time I made this video, it did not. Unfortunately, UA-cam makes it difficult to correct information on old videos. I'll pin your comment to the top so others watching this video see this, too.
incredible comparison. i love the easily browsable chapters and in depth info. this REALLY helps making a decision. thank you !
You’re welcome 😊 thank you for the kind words 🙏
Thanks for addressing the hiking heart rate issue. I've experienced the same issue with my older Alta HR.
This was an excellent review. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
You’re welcome. Thank you for the kind words 🙏😊
excellent review. the core hardware differences I’m aware of, but you showed exactly what I was looking for - the software, UI menu etc differences. also that screenshot of the waterproof guidance is helpful. my current Inspire just went kaput just shy of 2 yrs usage, due to getting waterlogged :(
I recently started swimming 6 months ago, 4x/week in pool (which now includes diving), and after about 4-5 months condensation built up in the screen. features (incl touchscreen) & battery life have been rapidly degrading since, and now it’s just done. I had been wearing it steadily in the shower - obviously using shampoos & soaps (who showers w just water, why list that it’s ok in the shower??!!). I also used a hot tub a couple times. prior to swimming, in that first year of usage I had also used it in my “regular, non-swimming” showers & that seemed ok. oh well...
based on your video, I’m leaning strongly to Luxe. I wish it had the clock face that Inspire has with all core stats, not just steps (steps, distance, calories).
That's a brilliant video. This is what I exactly looking for. Keep them coming 👍
Thank you for the kind words 😊🙏
Brilliant review and just what I needed. Thanks.
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for a fantastic comparison!
You’re welcome! 😊
Great review... i have a qq... i have the original flex which i love... yes mine is that old and works well. However i really want to start tracking my heart rate...Mind you i actually wear a watch so I was thinking of whatever is thin to simply track my steps and heart beat. Which do you recommend?
Also, that's a shame the steps are based on heart rate and not the actual steps performed.
Thank you again...
I had a Fitbit inspire 2 it's really good to start off for as a beginner then I upgraded to a versa 2 it's was to much of an jump but if you want an Fitbit start off with inspire 2 or luxe .
This really helped me. Thank you Kelsey! 👋
You’re welcome! 😊
To the point, clear on what matters. Excellent review 👍

Thank you so much for this video!

Awesome review Missy!!
Thank you! 😊
Hi, can anyone help? I have problems with tachycardia and few watches only can detect a sudden increase in heart rate from 80 to 200 bpm, apple watch is ok, but I haven't apple ,so only android phone and tried versa 3, garmin venu 2 and both go crazy during my attack, any idea?
Great review!
Thank you for the kind words! 😊
What clock face is on the Inspire 2? It shows seconds counting but I haven’t seen that option when searching different clock faces for the Inspire 2
After watching @ the quantifying scientist research & review, ill keep my ground & pick inspire as my 1st fitness tracker as it is in my budget, long battery life, accuracy & simple...not being a smartphone
I loved the inspire 2 onky issue I had with it was every time I moved my wrist the button was so sensitive at the side it was knocking onto some sort of menu and I see a few others had the same issue no matter how much I moved and adjusted the watch it still happend. I'm looking for a new watch and really interested in trying this does it have the same issue?
The Luxe doesn’t have any buttons, so you won’t have the same issue. I believe Fitbit did put out an update for the Inspire 2 firmware that adds a new button lock setting that is supposed to help with the issue of the Inspire 2’s buttons being too sensitive. I haven’t tried it out myself, but might be worth looking into.
Great video
Thank you 😊
Does both have calorie burnt tracker.. like you have set a certain goal to burn your calories and it tells you how much you burned? Pls reply. Thank you!
Nice review. I have a question, which one better about heart rate accuracy between luxe and versa 3? Thank you.
That’s a good question. I have personally found that neither is satisfactory for me at high intensity heart rates. Charge 5 has been better, but still not reliably accurate (meaning sometimes it’s accurate and sometimes it’s way off). Apple Watch Series 5, 6, SE, and 7 and Garmin Venu 2 have been very good heart rate accuracy for me. My first test with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was also very accurate but I’ll need to do more testing. I guess I would say Luxe and Versa 3 are similar in terms of hr accuracy. So choose based on other factors like price and screen size and extra features of the Versa 3.
@@wearablewhisperer Thanks 👍
You’re welcome 😊
The Inspire 2 has the worst band attachment system! My tracker has had to be replaced twice in less than a year as the plastic around the holes the band pins go in has broken. I have read many other complaints about this. Any suggestions for installing the bands? It's taken so long to install them in the past and my third tracker arrives this week.
Make sure two fingers can fit between the band and your skin. If the band is too tight it will cause the connection to be pulled. Be gentle swapping bands and try not to swap too often either. DON'T shower with it as chemicals will degrade the inner components and weaken the actual band.
Good info.
Been wondering if it's worth upgrading from the Inspire 2 as I get super annoyed by it losing my heart rate monitoring in the middle of exercising. Nice (lol) to know they both have the same issue. I'm pretty sure it's related to sweat interfering with the sensor.
Probably not a big deal in the grand scheme of things as you're still burning calories, but when you're wearing a device for the purpose of "gamifying" exercise those numbers and goals mean everything.
I’m glad my video helped you. I personally really like to know my real-time heart rate to know if I need to back off or if I can keep going (when I get near my max HR).

A possible miss is that the Fitbit Luxe has a scheduled sleep mode (display won't light up while you sleep). I know the older Fitbit Inspire HR does not have this (sleep mode must be manually turned on and off).
You can choose to enable or disable the sleep mode schedule on the Luxe. So if you don’t want to have it scheduled but still manually turn in on it off, you can.
The Inspire 2 also has a sleep mode (scheduled or manual).
The Inspire 2 now also does the temperature tracking.
Awesome
Hi, can you advise if luxe strap is compatible with inspire2? Maybe can make it work by using my existing pin? I have inspire2 but want strap of luxe
Not compatible
I like the one it comes with
The big show down. I had a feeling this was coming.
😊
Before it had no allways on despley but now it does on the luxe
Are there any other smart tracker that have silent alarm feature?
All the fitbits do. All the apple watches do.
is there a way that my Luxe can track my walking steps on it own, with out me always have to start that "exercise" ?
Luxe should track steps without starting an exercise.
@@wearablewhisperer oh ok ,i just got one, have for a week now, was just wondering ;)
Happy to help 😊
My Fitbit luxe now has an always on display, maybe it was a new update?
Yes, it was a firmware update (after I published this video).
Great video. Just a shame how small the screen is.
Thanks 😊
I am SOO glad my Inspire 2 broke (after 1 week of light use.) I UPGRADED big time to the Garmin SQ- then again (within the 30 days) to the Venu2 (since I was so impressed with Garmin.) It is soo much better on many levels including the interface/ecosystem, accuracy and incredible stats/metrics, challenges, etc., just to name a few things. Oh- and it has a brilliant AMOLED display. If you are on a budget- pay a little more for the SQ. If you want near top of the line, go for the Venu 2. Your welcome.
Also the luxe doesn't track steps while pushing a stroller
It tracks steps every time you walk
Which fitbit do you wear in everyday life?
Fitbit Sense 😊
Please compare heart rate accuracy between luxe and Apple watch.
Apple Watch 7, 6, 5, and SE are all significantly more accurate than any Fitbit for me personally.
Is it worth spending extra bucks for luxe ??? Inspire 2 will do the job so don’t see why I should spend extra
I want to buy for sleep and stress tracking
If sleep and stress tracking is all you care about, they should perform identically, so feel free to save some money.
Some people want the color display of the luxe or the more fashionable gorjana band, so for them it would be worth the extra cost.
How can we request Fitbit to add weather app to fitbit luxe
You can go the the Fitbit community forum and submit a feature request. I would guess someone else has already requested it. And I would almost guarantee the luxe will never get a weather app.
@@wearablewhisperer Thanks for replying and also for the amazing video! May I know why you think they will never add it ?
You’re welcome 😊
It is pretty rare for Fitbit to add a feature to a device after it has been released (unless it was a feature that was announced upon release to be “coming soon”).
It seems there was some indication that luxe would have the weather app, but that seems to have been incorrect.
You can see the feature request here and how it has only been marked as “reviewed” it is not even “under consideration” or in any stage of being implemented: community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Weather-app-on-Luxe/idi-p/4890925
I know it’s frustrating, but from Fitbit’s point of view they are unlikely to prioritize this request (most likely they are spending their resources on their next iteration of devices and will only fix major bugs for already released devices).
@@wearablewhisperer Thank you for such a detailed info and quick response ! 👍
You’re very welcome! 😊
Which has a bigger screen?
Screen sizes are very similar. Luxe has higher resolution screen.
@@wearablewhisperer Thank you so much for your help! You are awesome!
You’re welcome! Thank you for the kind words 🙏😊
How thick is the Luxe compared to the Zip?
Luxe is 0.4 inches thick, while Zip is 0.38 inches thick, so Luxe is 0.02 inches (or 0.5 mm) thinner (essentially the same).
@@wearablewhisperer ok, I think that will be my next fitness gizmo once my zip dies. I like the zip because it's super small and doesn't need to be worn around my wrist. Fitbit says the inspire replaced the zip.....but they fail to understand the zip is especially desirable because it's super thin.....make hiding it easy. The inspire is considerably thicker.
Can you...whisper to Fitbit to bring back Fitbit Coach?
Even Fitbit support told me using Windows 10 is very difficult and not worth the effort. They were right. Fitbit user interface is awful.
Inspire 2 or ace 3 for 11 year old. Inspire 2 on sale for $59. Ace is $79
If you want parental controls then Ace 3 is a must. Inspire 2 isn’t “supposed” to be used by kids under 13. Ace 3 is also 6-months newer.
Looks like ace 3 is a good option for our family since my wife uses a charge 4. However, I’ve been reluctant to try Fitbit since I’ve heard about bad accuracy and reliability. It’s such a difficult decision.
@@wearablewhisperer why would you need parental control it tracks steps heart rate there’s nothing bad
Luxe can get weather app if your location is on or whatever
Do you have a Luxe with a weather app? The Fitbit Community Forums say there is still no weather app for Fitbit Luxe: community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Weather-app-on-Luxe/idi-p/4890925
I think they are simply lazy with the luxe, no stats heavy clock face, no proper spo2 despite the promise, the scrolling ui the worse because it always stops in between two stats
no blood oxygen with out the rip off app .a fitness device that you cant check your blood oxygen 24 hrs on the device is useless so stupid of them..just my view thanks for the video
I agree they need to utilize that sensor more by now. You’re welcome 😊
looks like Luxe is designed for girls only. Its not Unisex.
Forget the luxe all together it's 150 and has a better screen than all of the rest but less usable features than the charge 4. BUY Neither OF THESE. IF IT HAS TO BE FIT BIT ..BUY THE CHARGE 4. CHECK OUT THE XHARGE 4 ITS THE NOT ONLY 119 BUCKS IT JAS WAY MORE FEATURES THAN LUX....THE ONLY NETTER THING ABOUT LIXE IS THE SCREEN. WHO REALLY CARES?? CHARGE 5 HAS GPS.PAY SPO2 NATIVE SPO2!! Heart RATE. ITS THE BEST OPTION..THEUXE IS BS
