I wish cars would have sensors for tiny animals or if not, for those who have microchips... I was just a little bit angry for how they lied that they were having "technical issues" and they have to cancel their live session when at that moment Bob was already missing since Saturday night...if they had only told the truth that Bob was missing, people who knew Bob would definitely help find him... Can't believe that someone once accused James of drugging Bob. That is the cruelest accusation ever and someone who has had such an awful history of battling drug addiction would never wish that on anyone, even an animal. If you've read the book then you'll understand what I'm talking about but if not, someone once accused him of drugging Bob to make him calmer and more tame.
Homeless people do drug cats to get more money. I was on prince street in Edinburgh and this miserable git was begging and had a kitten that clearly was quite unwell. I knew something wasn't right and had a big fight with my then boyfriend about what to do ( I wanted to pay for the kitten). Turns out that was exactly what not to do. The man had been stealing kittens and drugging them. Lucky he was arrested maybe a week later? Obv that wasn't the case with Bob but it does happen and you can google that case.
I think this cat looks quite normal not drugged. I walk my 2 cats outside myself, they are leash-trained but they mostly follow off leash just like dogs. Though we mostly go into nature, I would never walk my cats in the city due to the poluted air. Cats can be trained to do a lot of things.
I find it really annoying that so many people cant stand seeing someone find happiness in life. I've been around cats all my life, I'm 52 now. Most cats wouldn't sit still around that traffic, never mind staying somewhere they didn't want to be. He's clearly comfortable with James and trusts him. I belong to a couple of groups on Facebook for people with cats and these idiots show up there as well. Accusing people of abusing their pets because they don't agree with this or that. They have nothing constructive to say, it's always condescending. I've been in the same boat as James and having a cat meant the world to me. Like my Mum used to say. "If you've got nothing nice to say, shut yer trap"

Lots of noise around and sometimes something unexpectable can happen and when the cat suddenly gets scared, it runs. It could get lost or hurt. James even says it in his book he bought the leash and tried if Bob's ok with it just after this happened once because he wanted to prevent such situations in the future. It's not a walking leash as with a dog, more like a safety belt. And yes, cats are very much free - that's why you could NEVER force a cat to accompany a human it doesn't want to accompany. Which is why you showed two things by your very clever comment: you haven't read the book (and probably nor watched the movie) and you don't know shit about cats. :*

I finally decided to read the book last night after hearing about Bob passing away, what a beautiful story. I hope James will be okay. I lost my cat 2 years ago, I had her my entire life & it was so hard. I think about her every day. At least she is playing with Bob in heaven now ❤️

I have read the 3 books....they are wonderful. This cat is simply amazing. This story is a human story of hope, redemption and change all brought about by Bob, a cat, but not just a cat, who is a gift from God to James and..an inspiration to us all.

I lived on the street with my cat Tomato for 3 years, he was ginger and white and died 2nd May 2020 aged 14 like Bob God bless them both.

I finally decided to read the book last night after hearing about Bob passing away, what a beautiful story. I hope James will be okay. I lost my cat 2 years ago, I had her my entire life & it was so hard. I think about her every day. At least she is playing with Bob in heaven now ❤️

I have read the 3 books....they are wonderful. This cat is simply amazing. This story is a human story of hope, redemption and change all brought about by Bob, a cat, but not just a cat, who is a gift from God to James and..an inspiration to us all.
I heard about the book "A Street Cat Named Bob" through a FB post and I just finished it and loved it. I look forward to reading The World According to Bob - What a Wonderful Story. She probably keeps her cats at home and her cats are probably uncomfortable having to be there all the time.
