Bob was a very pretty kitty. Rest In Peace, dear friend. He had the most beautiful green eyes I've ever seen on a cat.
What I love about him is he stayed so humble even when he got famous. He got money, but that hasn’t changed him. He talks to people just the same. So sad he past r.i.p little bob.xxx

Wow, I find it quite fascinating how Bob can remain so calm with all the people and noises going on. A veteran street cat for sure.

I'm reading this book now and I just can't put it down. It's amazing the bond these two have...I have 3 cats, all rescues and one just happens to be an orange tabby like Bob so the story has a little extra meaning for me. I love my orange boy just like James loves Bob...it's crazy the control these amazing creatures have over us isn't it?

I have just finished reading `A Street cat named Bob'. Absolutely amazing story and an incredible duo. The book made me laugh it made me cry and gave me a terrific insight into life on the streets. I have been homeless in my life and really related to the dark days James experienced before he met Bob. Bob is really a star and James is a lovely guy made good. btw, i was homeless and schizophrenic (rather badly) for 20 years or so, finally got a shelter dog who cured me, no lie. i also wrote two books, poetry. Apple Cider and Wishes on the Edge of Time (on Amazon.com). i was a panhandler until i could get social security and a gov't. apartment where i am now. my books are my effort to stay positive and sane through it all. they represent a journey of 20 years. glad yours was a lot shorter. all the best, cathy smith

At the very least, people should ask James's permission before taking pictures of him and Bob. And I agree that if they want to take pictures, they should make a donation to help them out.

I've read the book and since I've now actually seen Bob I can feel the agony even more so of when he lost Bob and feared the worst. I would die if I lost this cat.

I read two of the books and was deeply moved. James and Bob had a unique and extraordinary relationship. As much as I enjoy the many youtube videos about Bob, I am saddened by his passing. Bob was one in a million.

Anyone who has cats knows that cats are not brought up so easily. It is the cat who's raising you. But the cat has a weakness for flattery and attention. It makes it malleable. You've found the perfect combination for both of you makes you strong together.

This is a book I must own. It represents myself. My own life. The importance of knowing that someone needs you. The opportunity to take responsibility. The relationship with animals. Even the daily fight for survival on the streets. I'm so happy for your progress.

I have seem some people asking some offensive questions and it is not very nice. Bob loves attention and we can see that he is a very content cat. James looks after him really well. It's a shame some people don't donate some money for him... I would donate so much money. I care. :)
And do you donate money to the other street musicians or homeless people? Just go outside and look in your city. There are a lot of people who also need help! But they don't care. Just like him. They only care about him because of this nice cat story. That's so sad. I spend money to all the people on the street or I spend food or just a little talk. That helps also!
You're a very nice person. I wish that I could help everyone in the whole world, not just James. Even if it seems impossible, I will never give up. I try to help them so much, but my mum just drags me away from them and say they are just faking. It's not fair. I want to so help them, even if I'm young.
I plan on spending a day with a homeless man, just to see whats their story. To see how they live. I think that is a good thing for both of the people. At the moment I make a practical training in an organisation for former homeless people, they live there. It's so inspiring and wonderful to see how thankful they can be. I'm from Germany by the way :) Im planning to study social work. I'm young too, I'm 19 years old. Maybe you can go outside in your city, buy two coffee and just go and sit down to some homless people and talk. They often are very happy of someone recognizes them as a human being. Just do it, it will be one of the best experiences in your life, trust me :)
Yes. I am planning to. :) I just want to run out and help so many homeless people even if it seems impossible. ^^ I won't give up!

Our whole company loves Bob, we can't wait for the move to come to the US. I, personally, have something similar with our Carol, whom showed up at our apartment, starving to death, covered in fleas and feces from sleeping in a trash can, she is now doing well, she trusts humans now and we will get her a home, trying to get my cat and dog to let her become a member of the family. You are an inspiration to us here in our home, that you could overcome your addition and give a cat a special place in your life is a wonderful thing. I abducted my last cat (sadly passed away coz of cancer), from my cousin's arsehole boyfriend who was mean to her and had already broken one of her toes by standing on her and used to whip her with a twisted tea towel. I took her home, gave her love, and she was my best friend for 21 years. Little black and white furry baby who was so gorgeous and loving, yet chased all the other cats out of the garden to protect her human family! I miss her every day. You are so wonderful for caring and loving your cat. Thank goodness for people like you.

It's been 8 years since this video was recorded. This means that Bob is about 14 or 15 years old now. Hope Bob will live much longer. I really like him because I have a cat myself and I want my cat live longer.

I had my ginger and white, Mr.The, for 15 years....I missed him so much when he passed away in January...I read ' A Street Cat Named Bob ' and a miracle happened...We found a ginger and white kitten just by chance on a website, he is named Mao Mao :)))

Ich bin sehr angetan von Bob, diesem außergewöhnlichen Kater. Ich liebe auch Katzen über alles, habe selber einen, der schon 17 Jahre alt ist und der mit uns immer in Urlaub fährt, weil er niemanden anderes akzeptiert.
Es ist schön, diese Freundschaft zu sehen, doch hoffentlich wird sie durch die Medien nicht zerstört.
