- The storm that kept on coming. Things are still shut down, people without power for 5 days, heading back to 35 below zero, the roads are a big mess, what else can happen? Here's hoping that because 2021 is going out like a Lion, 2022 will be the calm after the storm. Happy New Year's Eve everyone 🎉🥶❄

The snow is so strange here, it didn't stay sticky very long or that metal shovel would have been great to use. We have a huge snow scoop but let the man handle it, HAHA. The cold weather is coming, it looks like all sun for the next 10 days, hopefully we will see some aurora 🥰💚💛🧡 Happy New Year to you!

I don't want to hear it. I had to do the Hotsprings road all week in this and the freezing rain. Note to travelers, if us taxis can't make it in a 4x4 truck don't attempt it in a rental car!!!
We went out to get pet supplies yesterday, it was insane out there, people I am sure haven't been out and about in a week. I tried to get off the roads ASAP, too many stupid drivers. Good Luck to you, I couldn't do it.
I love the tea's! I mix tea's all the time too :) Yes go to the snow dumps, I forgot about them! Yes Airport rd...I walked it everyday to school:).
They were clearing town last night, I will go check the snow dumps Monday 😉 We mix a lot of teas, it makes for some interesting custom flavors, pretty yummy! Glad you found us!

The city came down the road here today, I haven't been out to see what they did, but there are people parked on the streets so I don't think they could do much. They have us listed to do the heavy stuff in 2 weeks. Happy New Year to you, only a few hours now 🎉🥰

It's crazy, it's not uncommon for us to get "Chinook Winds" from Hawaii, they come in and warm up things and melt our snow somewhat, but the rain sheesh, this is desert climate here, we broke precip records. haha, see ya next year!!! of course it's next year for you 😉😍🤗😘💖🎉

Hi Sherry, Mary and Heather. 💜 Well, we did it - made it through another year. ⌛⌛⌛ Happy, Happy New Year. We wish you all many blessings in 2022. Loved the video. Sherry, you are such a trooper. It looked very scary driving. I don't know if I would have the nerve but you make it look so easy. And, then, there is the shoveling. I have back issues so if I did even a small part of what you ladies shovelled, I probably would not be leaving my physical therapist's office. 🤣🤣. Kip and Beean looked so happy playing in the snow 🐾🐾🐾🐾. Our Biscuit does not even like cold weather. Hope things are more normal next week. Hugs.

I remember those winters. Had to bring supplies to mother since she feared driving. More ice than snow there..

I try to stay off of the major highways, never venture out of town in the winter, so I only have my little bubble 😜 The roads in town are beyond bad this year, we don't deal with freezing rain well here. Good tires and an AWD car.

I guess Mother Nature figured I needed to get a head start on my New Year's exercising, haha. Happy new year!!! I should have been a girls scout, always prepared, well mostly anyway, the chinchilla situation was getting really scary.
We are used to a lot of snow here in upstate ny. But not your temperatures. Last dec. 17th we had 32 inches of snow, but this year we have green grass. Guess the west and Alaska is having all the snow this year. It is early yet thou, some of our biggest snow storms have come in march. The coldest I ever remember is 26 below but that was years ago.
It's crazy, we are breaking records left and right, snow rain, most precipitation. My family in Michigan are still having an extended Fall, they should have over a foot on the ground by now.

I am in Minnesota. We have lots of snow & below zero temps. So I can relate. We got the rain then snow & now the cold (-10 -20). At least u have power. Seen Somers in Alaska keep losing power. Hope u can get that gate unfrozen from the ground. Happy New Year!
Oh wow! You must be in Northern Minnesota, I hear the south is still having warmer than normal weather. I do have friends in Grand Rapids Michigan that got snow though, so winter is finally arriving. Good luck to you. I live in town, I think the longest I have ever been without power in town is 10 hours. The first winter we moved into the house, we were out of power for 4 hours, it got really cold really fast, inside! Used to be we didn't have to close the gate and Kip would stay in the yard, now everyone in our neighborhood has at least 2 dogs and he knows it, so we have to close the gate. It's moving now. I don't know how you do it Sherri, drive on those roads an those train tracks just bounce you everywhere. The pup where having so much fun in snow poor Kip look like a snowman with all that snow stuck to his fur. We still in the 70's so people trun on their AC it got hot yesterday it almost hit 80' we had are on as well,, in Dec never ever this weather has gone Bat #%@! I have NEVER seen the roads like this, it's awful. I should show the snowballs Kip gets in his paws they get really big! This weather, sheesh, it can straighten out any time now. Hugs to you and Happy New Year!💞🥰💖🎉🎉

The kits are so much fun! something kind of brainless, but creative and then you have a treat when you are done 😋 The roads are dangerous, I felt so bad for the fire and police departments though all of this.
The snow looks heavier then I remember it. During CQ I would shovel the walkways out side the Barracks just to keep busy and awake; I get really good at it. Denali? I will say that driving thru the center of town, it looks like it was during my time there. People spent a lot of time and effort shoveling clear the walk ways and driveways in town and on base. The gas powered ones were not available yet there yet. Forgetting about the tracks happens from time to time Sherri so don't feel bad, especially when they are covered by snow. I hope the time is passing smoothly while you wait for the storm to pass.
The indigenous people called Mt. McKinley "Denali", they renamed it officially in 2015, it's not called Mt. McKinley anymore, it's Denali. And yes the snow is awful, wet and heavy, it's not suppose to be that way here. I am kind of liking the time off, my paychecks not so much 😉😢 Happy New Year 🎉

Howdy pretty ladies!..Mary is definitely much to small and patite to be shoveling snow around!...Glad U are safe after such a terrible storm!...Bert Somers mentioned on their channel that he's LIVED there HIS whole life and never seen a storm like this one!...We had a similar type of storm here in Northern Minnesota few weeks back but not nearly as bad...Be. People are charging $500 or more to shovel them off and leaving the snow against the house. I bought a snow rake, hopefully it will work. I am outside of Ester and it hammered us the freezing rain. very hard to dig out.
I was hearing horror stories of being up in the hills, I don't know if the roads will ever be clear, we may have to put up with the nastiness until Spring 🥶😭
Try cracking a few windows in vehicles when you have a bit of sun.
That happens here too.
It can help to stop moisture from building up to ice.

We here in Delta have a roof snow load. Our grocery store is shut down It’s interesting to say the least
I heard about IGA it's so sad, I love that store, we stop every time we are in the area. We almost hit snow load in the Spring. I want to clear some off now, who knows how much more we will get. I hope IGA opens soon, stay safe and warm.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs also as a result found out that DOT has the Richardson Highway listed as a #2 road. So last Thursday we pushed 6” of snow all the way to Fairbanks in order to get to doctors appointments. No plows met us It took 3 hours each way. Governor Dunleavy is going to change that cause we need to be able to get to Fairbanks to shop since no store here. We were wondering why the roads been lousy in the past. Ambulance drivers will be glad for sure.

This is noting I remember in kindergarten I had to walk from 6th ave to barnette elementary and at times in -45 below

Yep I had on leotard those stretch pants with the saddle feet a pair of Jean's snow pants under shirt my top a sweater a heavy coat took like an hr just to get ready lol then these moonboats had 3 pairs of soacks on and off to school I went my mom would come in b4 she left for work here an thermo gonna be -50 just be careful ok love you but yep I'm 5 yrs old those were the days
As I got older parents started complaining when it hits -50 that's it close the schools so they did when it was -50 for a few weeks or months then the parents started complaining when u gonna open bk up the school school board was like this is Alaska u need to get use to the weather up here then in 1st grade when it was -45 I was like forget this nope not happening I'd get get up my mom left for work at 530 am I'd go turn all the lights off climb right bk into bed lol

You might want to get someone up there to clean off your roof. That’s a lot of weight from the rain hardening to snow.
I ordered a snow rake from Amazon, we will see how it works. Even if it gets half of it off it will be better than nothing, they want $500 or more to shovel roofs here, it's crazy. I just got new gutters, I won't trust just anyone.
