- Record Snow and Rain, What is with the weather? Fairbanks has been shut down for days and we are going to get another round of it. Our city used to be wonderful keeping up with the snow, but freezing rain is something we can't deal with here, our ground is too cold, we have no way to melt the ice, salt only works to a certain temperature. Soon we will have too much snow on our roofs, every year now it seems like more buildings are ending up with collapsed roofs. The trees were heavy, they were cracking and one even fell across our driveway, we were lucky, there were so many without power and still have no power days later.

Someone brought it to my attention that the one clip, I put December 21st, the date was December 28th! You all know I edit these things at 1am right, LOL, SORRY 🤣
I can attest that you are also up around 2am too! We are both insomniacs and that’s when we post during the wee hours! LOL 😝 Also, I can’t believe it’s been over a week since Our last livestream. Time to head back to the parks for a dose of Epcot! Hopefully, Remy ride in the new year!

Oh yeah, like a slug while eating Junior's cheesecakes, hot breaded mozzarella sticks, piggy's in a blanket, burgers and a nice healthy salad? That's right, in my mind, everyone ate the most healthiest salad and I'm sticking to that while stuffing my face with pecan pie! LOL

Way too much snow! Leif doesn't have access to equipment anymore like he used to, we are going to have to pay someone to come and move the snow. Beean loves all the snow and ice! I thought she would hurt herself but when I pushed through it, it was a lot softer than you would think. I felt like I could not thaw out today, brrr, too much shoveling, I guess I am getting my exercise 😉 The weather is so strange, my relatives still have green grass in MICHIGAN! Hugs to you as well 🥰💞

I heard about the snowstorm and icy rain came down in Fairbanks this past Sunday. Plus, series of power outages went all over Fairbanks and North Pole. Are y’all all right? Man, snowstorm and icy road are very risky weathers in the winter if you ask me. I dealt with snowstorms and icy rain before in my life. Much prayers and love to you.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The weather sure is strange, lots of snow in the northwest that don't know how to deal with it and days worth in Japan too that devastated things, I think it is all the same system, like some kind of snow hurricane, for thousands of miles! The property next to me is a vacant lot, I hope to purchase it soon. Thank You, stay safe as well 🥰💞
This is the picture I have in my mind the last time I was leaving Fairbanks. This amount and density of snow; this is what I consider 'normal'. Have you also had issues with your Power Supply? Some of the other You Tube Sites have said this is becoming an issue with them but they live at the four corners of Alaska besides Fairbanks and North Pole. The Rain and Snow Mary looks normal to me as this was predominantly what 'normal' was to me when I was there. To me, the snow and rain are beautiful but that is easy for me to say down here in SoCal! P. O. Boxes were a big think way back when but only if your prepaired to get financially fleesed.
Some people have been without power for 3 days now, just starting to get it back. I had friends that have lost power this morning, we were having blizzard conditions. We did okay though, just some flickering lights. Tons of snow is pretty normal, the freezing rain not so much.

Thank you, at least it warms up when it snows like that so not too bad to be outside, but cutting back that tree in the rain was miserable, I was soaked clear through my coat and two layers of clothes.
Hi Bears. Sure hope everyone is doing ok. The weather looks very treacherous. Was watching a video tonight by Rudy (Alaska Prepper) who was showing us around his property and all the snow. He's in Fairbanks and it looks like it will take days to get dug out. Hope each of you were able to stay home today until it is safer to travel and things get back to more normal. Sherry - How is the fence? Could tell from the video it was bent but hopefully the damage was only superficial. Glad you received your present from Mary - very cool. 😊 That blue hoodie is the perfect color on you. Heather's goodies were cool as well. Scarf looks warm. We are all okay, my back is a little sore, nothing that can't get worked out though. I just saw an article about that Alaska Prepper, was going to check him out. Like I told someone else, a friend dropped by today and he couldn't believe we did all of that shoveling by hand, we have sure been getting our workouts since we bought the house, haha, Leif usually comes to the rescue with the big equipment but he doesn't have anyone that he can borrow from anymore, they are all moving or retired and sold their equipment. Time to buy a plow. I was hoping to wear one of those scruchies to work today but did not work, I will tomorrow. I love the hoodie though, I gained so much weight the other one doesn't fit anymore. Heather has a room full of stuffies, I think the dogs know that anything in there is off limits. Thank you for the prayers, this snow needs to stop, we are due to be back to 40 below by Sunday night.
Sherry..you're one tough cookie...good example for your daughters! While watching your vlog I was thinking I know the camera doesn't capture how bad it really was.. yikes!! It is so hot here..my vehicle registered 83 here today...we have a few cool days in the forecast..can't get here soon enough. As usual the doggies give us some hilarious moments.
I had a friend come over today and when they drove in they couldn't believe we shoveled all of that by hand, the piles are starting to look like we are building Denali in our yard. 83 sounds fabulous right about now, HAHA. Those crazy doggies are so funny, Kip was like, nope, I am not dealing with that and reprimanding Beean for being so brave, 🤣🐕

You get some crazy weather. That's a lot of snow at once. The dogs had so much fun outside it was cute to watch. Do you have to clear your roof we always do it gets to be so much it's dangerous...stay safe
We will be clearing the roof this year, this is too much too early, we usually don't see this much snow until the end of the season when it starts to melt.
Wow! Beautiful snow, but very difficult conditions. We have been battling heavy rain and flooding here in the South East of Ireland. Lots of bridges damaged/washed away! Keep safe 🇮🇪❤
Oh wow! I hope you are in a safe area, the weather is so scary. Japan just got record snow like us and some of our states on the western half of the U.S. the rest of the U.S. is having record heat.
We have heavy rain warnings again today! And it's so mild for the time of year. Definitely strange weather. The last rain managed to wash away bridges that were 100s of years old!

Oh that's so, so sad. The changing weather patterns here are wiping out villages that have been there for 100's of years also, indigenous peoples 😢 There are 2 places that have wanted to visit since I moved here and the villages were taken out by rising waters, what was left was moved, so the villages are not the same. Thanks for watching, I hope you are safe, we are just putting up with crazy messy conditions, it motivates us to change, haha. 💖😉🥰

I know! This town used to pride itself on never having snow days or any days off from school due to weather, the days just weren't built in to the schedule. It's been almost 10 years now of freezing rain stuff, not normal at all, so thick! It collects on the streets and they can't get it off, they tried brine which melts at lower temps but it still froze and made things slick. Just have to learn to drive on it. These dogs love the snow and ice, I have to be careful for Kip though he eats so much snow that when it hits 40 below, it gives him brain freeze, he looks like he is having a slight seizure, LOL. Oh yeah, Happy New Year! I was so concerned with the weather I almost forgot, it's a couple days away. I hope the University has the fireworks.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs Exactly! School wasn't called off unless it went to -40 or so. Driving on ice is so nerve wracking. We have it here in WV too...hardly any snow anymore. At least in my area. Oh wow it really sound's like it's there to stay:/ Sadly the weather is just nuts all around the world. I sure do appreciate you all sharing Fairbanks though. Oh yes, I'd say the ice with the pup's is dangerous 😔

Oh no, the grass is really green where it shouldn't be right now, LOL. I wouldn't give this up for anything, bring on 50 below, we need to weed out some of the haters 😉 The lower 48 is nice to visit but I would never live there again.

Well this video just popped up on You tube. I clicked on it and realized it was my street. wow!, just a couple houses away from mine.😂My house is the log house down from the 2 green trailers. I rent it out. So it's nice to see what's going on in my little neighbirhood😁😁😁

No. I rented my house out a couple years ago and moved to Skagway after I retired. I did visit last summer for a few days. And I also have a dog named Bean😁

Out here in Delta Junction That' snowstorm /ice storm Destroy the roof to the IGA Removing The town's only grocery store . They have a temporary Location at the liquor store next door But it's only for a very basic essentials And it doesn't help that Fort Greely Is limiting their commissary hours as well do to the storm.
It's so sad, I love that store! I hope they can repair it soon. I thought they put a 3 bears store nearby? Those things are going up everywhere. The roads should be back to normal soon 🤞 Our freight is stuck in Anchorage though, so no milk, eggs or salad stuff up here. Stay Safe and warm, I hope you feel better.

I watch them also. The weather all over is nuts! Tornadoes in December and earthquakes where there usually isn’t any. We had 70 here in December. I’m in Ky. 2 days later we had snow!

Wow so much snow. It's so pretty, but I don't like the ice. Where I live in NC we don't get it very often.
We can deal with a lot of snow here, but ice is not fun! I found out I have relatives and friends in NC, I hope to visit some day.
How much snow do you get up there a year
Our average snowfall is around 5 feet per year. we get a lot of it in the fall and spring when it melts, so usually not much to deal with over the whole winter. We have gotten almost 3 feet in the last few days, it's insane. Then we had a big Easter Blizzard this year, so we are way above average this year.
I live on nunivak Island. And that was us. All that snow. Rained couple days later no snow just tundra. Past few days we got cold again and got lil but snow again. Our bay was froze over. When we warmed up for bout a week in the 30° now it broke up and we open waters again. So yes you all east ofnus are getting all our ugly weather. Winds and all. Happy new year

Keep trees clear of all fencing and homes.
I cleared all of the trees from my property when I moved in and had the power company take out many of them, they missed some though, so I need to get after them again. The property that the tree fell from is not mine.

That's just not right, your days should be looking more like what we are dealing with right now.
I work over at GCR tire we closed down on Monday it was so bad.
We called today, too bad you weren't open, needed a flat tire fixed.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs yeah we're not open on weekends. Only way to get someone out after hours is a service truck. That's super expensive about $125 an hour. Only gotta pay $22 for the whole deal when we're open. Monday through Friday 8 to 5. Be more than happy to help ya out.

It's just a little chainsaw, battery powered, it sure needs the blade sharpened though. Lots of safety features, I like it, now I want a bigger one, haha.

It's pretty perfect here for me 😉 I think it's funny that people act like this never happens here but just over the last week on my facebook memories there was a snowstorm or 40 to 50 below temps every couple of years. We just broke a few records with this storm and the freezing rain is something new in the last 10 years. All of those glaciers melting has to drop moisture somewhere I guess. 😝
That doesn’t look safe!!! The dogs look like they are having fun even tho it’s not safe. At least it was soft. It’s got to be bad when Alaska is shut down for snow!!! We shut down for the tiniest bit of snow. It may be an idea to stock up on pet foods. We used to in fire seasons in Sydney just incase.
I was stocked up on dog food, but the Chinchillas needed more than I had money for. Heather got paid, I just spent almost $200 on Chinchilla food, hay, treats and bird food 😱🤪 I have never ran out of all that stuff at once it made me realize how much I spend on them 🤗

We kind of tune the bird out, I didn't pay that much attention to the noise he makes until people started mentioning it. now I cover him up if I remember, he is pretty noisy all of the time, he used to "sing" a lot more, but he is getting really old (18 years), so he just fusses more, at least he is happy 😉 I was worried about Beean, but the ice covered snow was much softer than we thought and she seemed to like stretching her legs and her belly across it, she is so strange, definitely a snow dog.
We are in the birthing pains of the end times. This is why the whole world is having all kinds of problems. Volcanoes 🌋, earthquakes and floods. Tornadoes, snowstorms.

When the sidewalks and parking lots were cleaned, they looked like ice rinks. Put your pants over the boots and you shouldn't get snow in them.

@@AlaskanBearsVlogs It’s harder for you because you cook for the girls but shouldn’t eat like a 20 something y.o. Easier for me as I live alone. And can be outside all year riding my cycle. Certain we are around the same age.
