The song always had a melancholy flavor but now the English subs confirmed it. I feel, in short, that the song is about humanity's futile attempt for salvation. We seek out Gods, Deities, Spirits, our own Svahaa's - for help, aid, redemption, rescue, etc when it is WE who consistently destroy ourselves. Humanity is equally destructive and innocent, like children buried on a mountain, and at the end of the song, at the end of time - we realize how pathetic we truly are. How we were our own savior and how, now that we're dead, we realize there is no one left to save us.

As a fellow Hindu, I noticed something in the lyrics. The first verse is about a child melting and burning. When Hindu's die (atleast in a certain place in India), they burn the body while many others watch it so I assume that a part of this song is about a Hindu dying.

The way the words are said is south Indian (Sanskrit) temple prayers. That along with the prayer like bell music talking about existence is so ingenious. I remember listening to something like this music in a South Indian temple and was like "someone needs to remix this" and here comes the genius man of the century with his top quality music acing the whole effect

For those interested in the "bell chiming" sounds found throughout the piece, gamelan music (from what I could research) seems to be a huge inspiration in this and other works by Kikuo, such as Chiri Chiri, and 闇祭. Not sure if there are other tracks Kikuo made, but those are a handful that draw from gamelan.

I don't have any background in musical theory, but this feels different rhythmically and harmonically from what you produced a few years ago. it's still distinctively kikuo, of course, but it's cool that there's exploration going on.

Hi! This is my theory on this song!
There's a child who i believe is a god of some sorts. he's found "crying and melting, angry and burning away
until the boy ran away and disappeared". (probably from the overwhelming pressure of being a literal god with human influence) he ran into a mountain where corpses are often found and later discovered in tatters
so in the song it says that 'sad, sad, there were balloons attached' which is basically implicating that he had died and "floated" to the after life.
(TW WARNING FOR THE NEXT PART)
his corpse is found being eaten by birds and "insects are dancing around in his body, making his bones rattle beneath them in the mountain of death" and then the people in the chorus part start chanting about start chanting about: 'decomposition of the body, saturation (bright red blood), physical damage, exhilarating collapse (probably a death attempt made by the boy who felt the adrenaline a lot of people do before death)and then it talks about how despite all of this chaos and despite how this boy suffered so much, "the washing machine is still running". This means that this boy had gone through so much and yet the world keeps rotating without him as if he had never meant anything to the world only to be eaten by the low bugs and birds of a dark mountain.
HOWEVER: there's people who missed him. Aka the people who received miracles and blessings from him. They prayed for him, this child god; Eternally waiting for him to come back. and yet in the mountains, their prayers merely echoes through the mountains (their cries and voices of anguish).
there's one part that goes: "wilted leaves, cleanliness, blunder express, Feeling of depression, feeling of mortal sin, feeling of maneuvering, feeling of omnipotence, feeling of rare death" aka when a god experienced death for the first time and his feelings that came along with it.
everyone can only pray for his safety in the after life so they would say "how pitiful, they've always been the same, despite how hurt he was he could do nothing but laugh" (presumably because "he's a god who can't even help himself, how could people beneath his power do so" is my theory to describe his hopelessness.) and they would start saying words of mourning like "you who protected all of us....is now gone"
and then this is the interesting part where they say: "im sorry for bullying you."
so my theory is: "what if the people took him for granted, manipulated his powers to use for their own benefit, which eventually drove him to his self inflicted death in the mountains?"
(also a little bonus theory: when the song describes his death and the scenery was when the insane club music beat drop happened at 2:24 . almost as if speeding up and allowing you to hear the adrenaline from him as he tumbled down the mountain to his death)
and then they say: "someone please help them ('them' as in the god)" and then at the end, because time had passed and the people had reached the acceptance that the god is never to return, they go: "it cant be helped."
That's all! this is just a theory I came up with on the spot wwww,,,, I hope you don't mind my english since it isnt my first language, (JP is! I'm still learning english but believe i am progressing.) I hope you also enjoy my personal theory! :]

This song is an absolute banger. Really love the instrumentation in this. Here are some my thought nuggets:
- I'm not fluent in Japanese (I can only read on a basic level lol) but the lyrics where a bunch of kanji is used look like sutras. Makes sense since the title "Voice of Svaahaa" is invoking a religious context. The word Svaahaa is kinda like how Amen is used in Christianity. It's used for the end of an offering or mantra for prosperity. Svaahaa is also the name of consort of Agni, the Hindu god of fire. In Hinduism, the mantras containing Svaahaa is used for sacred pyre rituals (there's fire effects in the MV that drives this point plus the mention of the fire child in the first few verses). Possibly the acts driven by the speaker(s?) may have a connotation to it.
- I hear the use of gamelans, and I remember there was a commenter on 闇祭 mentioning they're used for spiritual rites, continuing the connection towards prayer.
- The 4 characters featured in the video might be aspects of the same person/god? Similar to the different avatars or aspects of the Vedic gods, like Vishnu for example.
Addition: the characters representing the stages the child went through before and after their death (crying, fuming in rage, running till their body returned to the earth with the insects and worms).
I'm not well versed with religions like Buddhism or Hinduism since my knowledge is limited, but I think this is why Kikuo titled and made the song as it is. I'm still happy we're able to hear a new track and I'll be playing this throughout this spooky month. Feel free to correct me if I made an error on what I've said. :0

Edit: After reading a good translation, I realize that this is supposed to represent the futility of crying out to the gods for help. We keep asking for help despite not fixing ourselves and cause the exact same problems no matter what. It doesn't matter if there is a deity helping us or not - we would never know because we keep making the same mistakes.

kikuo is always so good, you can tell there was so much care that goes into the production - the layering, the ever changing vocal spacing, the texture of different sounds, the addition of unusual instrumentals. im so sleepy and so out of it after having kind of a rough day - it’s 5 am and i only just finished a midterm project, and this music almost feels like an absolute dream. both in the sense that my half dizzy brain cannot register this as anything but unreal, but also in the sense that Kikuo’s music is a delight, every time
