I love the eyepatch choice for the design and song! When she spends her time looking through the peep hole, she literally only has eyes for the person behind the door
This is kind of a creepy comment to me but yeah... That's true. She literally only has eyes for the person behind the door when she's looking through the peep hole...
@@yourhighnessshanzay apparently the most possible meaning is that she is not even real and the person on the other side of the door is actually sick and having hallucinations. I've seen Japanese comments bringing that up. The eyes are occasionally turning normal and also some unrealistic scenes suggesting something is going on like when she is standing with a bouquet of flowers
@@DarkzarichV2 It's actually said that she is there, but the pov character is hallucinating her being a stalker when she's really just concerned about him
My initial theory with the song is that the girl is genuinely really worried about him, but the man behind the door is having these "delusions" or "hallucinations" about her signified by all the special effects. Now for why he's hallucinating, there could be 2 reasons: it has something to do with whatever condition he has that he has to stay at home or that it's supposed to signify that he's thinking she's some obsessed stalker because she kept knocking on his door a lot (out of worry) You can even tell a little from the lyrics how she seems to keep encouraging this person instead of more creepy stalker-y lines and stuff.
I think the lyrics shows more that the girl is pressuring the other person to be vulnerable with her so they can be "sad together". The psychodelic effects would be showing the unhealthiness and danger of that girl and her mentallity. Lines like "I'll dry up if you dont't cry" and such makes it seem like if she actually wants the other person to stay in a bad state of mind. It makes quite creepy how she looks so normal and worried in the more real looking frames to get the other person to open up (opening the door).
Ahh your last comment has really made me think about the lyrics in a different way! I think it would equally make sense to interpret them both in a stalker 'let me in so I can see you' obsessive, almost sexual way (with how the lyrics were written in the beginning especially) as well as a 'please come out and share your pain with me' concerned way. The person behind the door most likely thought the first way but realises the latter at the end when they opened the door!
I have a third option - as Miku appears to be in a school uniform, she could be worried about the person behind the door because he has not been attending school. It's a thing in japan (of course this happens everywhere as well though), where some people just refuse to go to school, shutting themselves in. As for the hallucinations, Miku can't know he is XX-ing inside - but he does. And he just fantasizes about her, about her knowing, and liking it. She is not there out of worry, she is there because she likes him, that must be it - hence the lyrics. They are, of course, unhinged, and seem encouraging, but that is just what the person behind the door wants, not reality. The script is flipped on its head, you would think that someone lurking in front of your door is the one monitoring, but if you don't open the door and just stare at the person waiting for you to finally open the door, who is doing the monitoring? The person doesn't think she is a stalker, but he sure dreams she was, hoping for some closeness, but even the imagined relationship is toxic. And I will be honest and just drop this - we've probably all done this in some way, even the toxic part. (minus the creepy monitoring... hopefully)
My theory is that Miku is representing a feeling, not a character, in most of Deco's songs. If you interpret the lyrics of his songs as if they're sung by feelings, in this case those intrusive regrets/what ifs that just won't go away, they make a lot more sense.
@@zennonapieronn3734 The eyepatch is interesting to me. Perhaps she was in an accident with the person, and that's why she's so concerned with them not coming to school?
like a lot of people said the guy inside the apartment is hallucinating that the girl wants him at 1:16 it even shows him leaning on the door watching her.
Miku here seems to be representing a feeling of regret or guilt. _"I'm gonna embrace you again and again"_ like that thing you did or didn't do a long time ago that always comes back knocking on your door, keeping you up at night, asking you to cry it out. At the end of the video it becomes too much and the door opens. Now that I think about it; many of Deco's songs have Miku represent a feeling. That's why we can't really agree on what she feels in the songs, she is the feeling. *Neverland* is the conflicting feeling of fighting with someone you really love. *Sad Girl S-x* is about rejection. *Mannequin* is about loosing someone. *Ghost Rule* is the feeling of not liking yourself. Listen to your favorite song and instead of trying to feel like the Miku singing, try recognizing your own thoughts and feelings in the song.
Initially I thought this was about miku being a stalker, but with how she reacted at the end and all the colourful illusions, it makes me think that the viewer is probably exaggerating miku’s visits as stalker-like behaviour. Probably due to some internal conflict. Both their behaviours can seem a bit odd. What’s more stalker-like? Waiting outside all the time for a person you know won’t come out, or watching constantly through a peephole at someone you know won’t go away? Edit: Okay! After a few more listens I think I’m almost certain that the obsessive one is in fact not miku despite the depictions, but rather the person behind the door. At 2:12 the person looks around everywhere almost as if they’re SEARCHING for miku, and at every place where they had previously seen them, almost frantically to check if she’s still there. Only when the person finally sees miku on the ground do the hallucinations come back again, as if miku’s presence is fuelling their obsession. I think it’s for this reason why they decide to open the door at the end to miku, because they were probably afraid that if they kept ignoring miku then she would disappear for good, despite most likely wanting to stay as a shut-in so miku could keep coming back to them. All is just my interpretations, but banger song by deco as always!! Edit 2: Sorry for the extremely long comment now haha but I’ve got another input after reading through some comments! I realised that the lyrics could be interpreted in a obsessive way with the how they’re phrased, but when you factor in the idea that miku is concerned for the viewer and trying to help them, the lyrics become more of a desperate attempt at encouraging the viewer to share their feelings with her. She’s basically asking the viewer to come out so she can comfort them because what she *knows* is that they’ve been crying all night, but the viewer interprets this as stalker / love behaviour! Thanks to all the japanese and english comments for this conclusion ~
@@Enaa_ek I think the sexual / romantic innuendos throughout the song are perhaps the viewer’s (whoever’s behind the door) internalisations of why miku keeps coming back to see them! In their mind, miku is waiting outside for them because she loves them, and wants to do said things in the lyrics, such as getting married. The expression on her face at the end can be interpreted as sort of relief mixed with shock, so in reality she probably just kept checking on the person because she was worried, but the viewer is pretty obsessive over the fact that it’s something else ^^;
To me it seems like Miku is genuinely cares and wants to help the viewer who's experiencing some kind of trauma, but he misinterprets the situation and sees her as an obsessed stalker
@@ligir6788 That could certainly be it as well! In that way then I think the ending of opening the door to her could be even sweet, at the end its almost like saying 'lets go and you can cry it out to me' like how miku kept encouraging them to in the previous lyrics :]] Its certainly possible then the innuendos then could just be interpreted as the person crying so much that it can be heard from outside their apartment building...
@@sunxiiro Yeah, most of the innuedos when interpreted as crying works really well. Except 'xxx'ing at the start. But crying is still fits and i think that deco just wanted to troll a bit and added something that can be easely thought of as somewhat sexual
There are two versions of Miku here. I think the Miku with the less saturated hair is the “real one”. Her expressions are very concerned and worried. And the Miku with bright hair is a hallucination or a delusion of the viewer. Not saying that she isn’t there, it’s just the perception of her is warped. I think some of the lyrics are an exaggeration of what she’s actually saying, to go along with the warped version of reality. But I think the real Miku is someone who cares, who is just trying to help the viewer out. I think maybe it’s a depiction of mental illness. I don’t think they’re actually seeing all the hallucinations, I think that it could be an artistic choice to show how mental illness warps our perception of the world and makes us see others in bad manner when they’re really trying to help. Idk it’s just my early interpretation
I think the viewer sees her appearance as mocking and shameful as they're imposing how they view themselves onto what they think the visitor's intentions are
heard someone say deco's recent songs feel like they're on some level made for milgram covers and GOD does this feel like it's got Mahiru written on it. Hope it's her cover song, the sound's addicting as always
To be honest, I see this as more of a Mikoto and John coded song... With being monitored/watched being a huge theme in MeMe, the person behind the door hallucinating that Miku is some obsessive stalker when she actually cares about them - Just like how Mikoto demonizes John when he just wants to protect Mikoto. Most of the lyrics just remind me of them so much. The eyeshots also remind me of Double. All the T3 covers are already recorded so this is just my copium though.
Here's my theory: 0:00 - 0:20 So, in the beginning we hear a doorbell, a door ring, and phone buzzing. Miku is standing in the hallway looking somewhat confident, almost in a cornering/confronting way? Like she *knows* about something. (ie: "Guess what, I know, that youre all alone XXing, I'm wise to it" "Just come clean, secret's out anyway") The lyrics make me think it's about having inappropriate thoughts about Miku, feeling guilty and having the fear of her finding out what you were doing whilst thinking about her. 0:22 - 0:26 we can hear the sound of typing, which suggests a conversation over the phone. 0:26 - 0:41 Looking at the lyrics we can tell that the person behind the door is mentally unwell and a loner. (ie: "sob sob sob and depressed, solitary karaoke lamenting in the night") Miku here is trying to convince this person by telling them that it is alright to cry, that they're not the only one who cries and that she will still embrace them. 0:39 - 1:09 In the chorus, Miku invites them to share their pain with her, to let their feelings out and to let her comfort them even though they think it will be a burden on her. (ie: "If you won't cry, it'll dry up, let's let it pour", "lean on me with your whole weight, toxic love", "Sharing is caring, I wanna feel you ouching") 1:10 - 1:17 in this part Miku looks menacing, radiating a threatening, intrusive energy with her repeated request of letting her see inside them. The person behind the door is afraid of letting anyone see them for who they are, which is why it feels so overwhelming in this part. 1:17 - 1:23 we see the person behind the door is up against the door, pressing themselves. And we can see that person's eye, it almost looks manic? The posture and the wide eyes hint at the fact that this person might be the one eager to see Miku, rather than the other way around. From this point on, we see how things are actually like in reality. 1:26 - 1:38 We can see that the illusion starts to shatter. Instead of the previously confident Miku and the shiny atmosphere, we see an anxious Miku and a grey atmosphere. We can see that Miku is not actually obsessed but *worried.* She no longer sounds confronting but rather encouraging. She says that she acknowledges their loneliness but knows that they're capable of pulling themselves together. She tries to encourage them by saying she looks up to them and that weakness is okay. 1:40 - 2:10 Again, in the chorus she tries once again to convince them that they're not alone and that she will be there for them no matter what (ie: the wedding vow part) 2:10 - 2:22 In this part, we can now see the *reality* without being interrupted for the first time. As you can see the atmosphere isn't all colorful and Miku's voice is a bit muffled. Notice how the camera movements are frantic, as if they're actively looking/waiting for someone? This part exposes the whole thing. It wasn't Miku who was obsessed, but the person behind the door. Remember the phone buzzing in the beginning and the typing sound? It's likely that this person texted something worrying in hopes of her showing up, or just straight up requested her to come. The phone buzzing is Miku calling them because they're not answering the door. We can also see her looking at her phone worryingly, probably from trying to contact them. At 2:24 we see the illusion returning as soon as the person sees Miku. Have you noticed the transparent worm looking things in the second chorus? The transparent worms are called "Floaters" and while not necessarily harmful, they're seen more in people who have vision problems/eye diseases. Guessing by the colorful hallucination lines and floating eyes alongside floaters, it's safe to assume that this person is not seeing things clearly, having a false vision on the situation. They think that Miku's worry is obsession and that she's madly in love with them while in reality she is just worried. From 2:26 to 2:51 We see that the person's delusions are being shattered and slowly starting to get a grip on reality. And finally at 2:52 the person opens the door, perhaps signaling that they accept Miku's helping hand. Clearly Miku is happy about it too, telling by the shine in her eyes. But that's just a theory.
This was a very interesting theory! Maybe with some songs that deco*27 makes are in a different perspective that we tend to not think about. I agree with your theory.
Your interpretation lines up with both my and a lot of the Japanese comments' thoughts! One thing to note that doesn't come through in the official translation - the lyrics are SUPER suggestive. Most of them sound like they are about feelings and about, well, a more physical thing, at the same time...the person behind the door is deluded, and obsessing over Miku not only in an emotional way (maybe I can be the person I self-loathe, and still be accepted!) but also in a very physical, very very gross way. So uh, I can't exactly think of this ending as a happy ending at all...
Something I noticed: Before the third chorus, you could see glitches of reality where Miku was worried, waiting for you to respond, while the psychedelic patterns kept going, pleading for you to respond. I have a feeling this may or may not be obsession, but she seems to care. Only thing that worries me is the Bridge where she sings out lines that are used for marriage. Concerning.
As for the marriage part, the very last scene of miku holds her phone the same way she holds the bouquet, so it could just be a "hallucination" of that
@@YohaNicoFrom what I've heard, men can often misinterpret women showing them worry and care as women being in love with them. So it could also be the case here, with the man's poor mental state bringing it up to "she is OBSESSED with me".
@@toxicalilium The veil is translucent (no duh) but the flowers are translucent as well, so they're most likely hallucinations as well. I see it as a genuine show of care that's believed to be something heavily romantic. By the end, there's no delusions or hallucinations at all, so I believe that the protagonist works through it.
Some alternative interpretations to the lyrics! Guess what, I know -> I know that you’ve been sad All alone Xxing // ‘tear’ing // solitary karaoke lamenting // ‘ouch’ing -> crying Everyone does it on the down-low // “you’re not alone” -> being sad is a normal thing (comforting them) Please I want you so bad -> I want you to be okay I’m gonna embrace you again and again -> i’ll help you no matter what You’re absolutely capable of it -> you’re capable of coming out and talking to me I love you like that too // i’ll always be by your side // lean on me with your whole weight -> I’ll accept you even when you’re sad Call my name and anytime i’ll come hither // i’ll always be watching over you -> I’ll be there for you whenever you’re sad Basically every lyric can be interpreted in a more caring way, where miku is encouraging the person to ‘open up’ to them, but can be seen in a stalker-like / obsessed way as well, which is what the person behind the door interprets her words as. She wants to save your dissected heart!!
@@01wishiata76Not really because the viewer clearly has some distorted perception of Miku. She's probably trying to help out of worry, but the viewer is interpreting as love
Yeah the fact that the entire perspective of the music video is through the peephole is a pretty easy analog for seeing things through a distorted lens, and only after the door opens at the end do we see Miku just standing there looking concerned, which goes against the obsessive stalker delusion seen through the peephole.
If you go back to some of those lines you'll find that _some_ of them cut to the real Miku for _part_ of the line. It kinda emphasizes that that part of the lyric is reality, while the rest of it is delulu land.
i feel like the song was actually hallucinated by the person behind the door, because once she opens it (assuming its a girl based on the lyrics) miku looks so normal unless the lyrics is actually from the door-person which is more concerning and delusional

This is exactly what I was thinking. I think for the "monitoring" part, I think it's more like a friend or relative visiting

I love the eyepatch choice for the design and song! When she spends her time looking through the peep hole, she literally only has eyes for the person behind the door
This is kind of a creepy comment to me but yeah... That's true. She literally only has eyes for the person behind the door when she's looking through the peep hole...
I thought she got punched in the other eye for being a stalker but that works too
@@yourhighnessshanzay apparently the most possible meaning is that she is not even real and the person on the other side of the door is actually sick and having hallucinations. I've seen Japanese comments bringing that up. My initial theory with the song is that the girl is genuinely really worried about him, but the man behind the door is having these "delusions" or "hallucinations" about her signified by all the special effects.
Now for why he's hallucinating, there could be 2 reasons: it has something to do with whatever condition he has that he has to stay at home or that it's supposed to signify that he's thinking she's some obsessed stalker because she kept knocking on his door a lot (out of worry)
You can even tell a little from the lyrics how she seems to keep encouraging this person instead of more creepy stalker-y lines and stuff.

I like this theory more than the others, it makes more sense in a metaphorical way

I think its about pleasuring yourself? It's obvious in the first bit but I think the message carries on
@@Enaa_ek I think the sexual / romantic innuendos throughout the song are perhaps the viewer’s (whoever’s behind the door) internalisations of why miku keeps coming back to see them! In their mind, miku is waiting outside for them because she loves them, and wants to do said things in the lyrics, such as getting married.
The expression on her face at the end can be interpreted as sort of relief mixed with shock, so in reality she probably just kept checking on the person because she was worried, but the viewer is pretty obsessive over the fact that it’s something else ^^;
To me it seems like Miku is genuinely cares and wants to help the viewer who's experiencing some kind of trauma, but he misinterprets the situation and sees her as an obsessed stalker
@@ligir6788 That could certainly be it as well! In that way then I think the ending of opening the door to her could be even sweet, at the end its almost like saying 'lets go and you can cry it out to me' like how miku kept encouraging them to in the previous lyrics :]]
Its certainly possible then the innuendos then could just be interpreted as the person crying so much that it can be heard from outside their apartment building...
Theory 2 is that viewer is tripping balls on acid
wait this theory is actually good, this comment is very underrated lol
I think the viewer sees her appearance as mocking and shameful as they're imposing how they view themselves onto what they think the visitor's intentions are
Your forgetting the whole albums theme of dating and cheating and toxic relationships

I also think that this song was written for Mahiru
UH HUH I CANT WAIT FOR HER COVER
To be honest, I see this as more of a Mikoto and John coded song... With being monitored/watched being a huge theme in MeMe, the person behind the door hallucinating that Miku is some obsessive stalker when she actually cares about them - Just like how Mikoto demonizes John when he just wants to protect Mikoto. Most of the lyrics just remind me of them so much. The eyeshots also remind me of Double. All the T3 covers are already recorded so this is just my copium though.

Here's my theory:
0:00 - 0:20 So, in the beginning we hear a doorbell, a door ring, and phone buzzing.
(ie: "If you won't cry, it'll dry up, let's let it pour", "lean on me with your whole weight, toxic love", "Sharing is caring, I wanna feel you ouching")
1:10 - 1:17 in this part Miku looks menacing, radiating a threatening, intrusive energy with her repeated request of letting her see inside them.
1:40 - 2:10 Again, in the chorus she tries once again to convince them that they're not alone and that she will be there for them no matter what (ie: the wedding vow part)
2:10 - 2:22 In this part, we can now see the *reality* without being interrupted for the first time.
This was so interesting to read!
…
A VOCALOID THEORY!

Something I noticed:
Before the third chorus, you could see glitches of reality where Miku was worried, waiting for you to respond, while the psychedelic patterns kept going, pleading for you to respond.
I have a feeling this may or may not be obsession, but she seems to care. Only thing that worries me is the Bridge where she sings out lines that are used for marriage.
Concerning.
In the intro, you can hear a phone vibrating, like someone's calling you. Then you can hear typing sounds at 0:22
My initial theory with the song is that the girl is genuinely really worried about him, but the man behind the door is having these "delusions" or "hallucinations" about her signified by all the special effects.
@@toxicalilium
The veil is translucent (no duh) but the flowers are translucent as well, so they're most likely hallucinations as well. I see it as a genuine show of care that's believed to be something heavily romantic.
By the end, there's no delusions or hallucinations at all, so I believe that the protagonist works through it.
this song really seems to exemplify the recent smoothness in DECO's miku tuning, especially the "MWAH" at the start of every chorus
Some alternative interpretations to the lyrics!
Guess what, I know -> I know that you’ve been sad
All alone Xxing // ‘tear’ing // solitary karaoke lamenting // ‘ouch’ing -> crying
Everyone does it on the down-low // “you’re not alone” -> being sad is a normal thing (comforting them)
Please I want you so bad -> I want you to be okay
I’m gonna embrace you again and again -> i’ll help you no matter what
You’re absolutely capable of it -> you’re capable of coming out and talking to me
I love you like that too // i’ll always be by your side // lean on me with your whole weight -> I’ll accept you even when you’re sad
Call my name and anytime i’ll come hither // i’ll always be watching over you -> I’ll be there for you whenever you’re sad
Basically every lyric can be interpreted in a more caring way, where miku is encouraging the person to ‘open up’ to them, but can be seen in a stalker-like / obsessed way as well, which is what the person behind the door interprets her words as.
She wants to save your dissected heart!!
DECO MIGHT'VE ACTUALLY FOUND AN AT LEAST RELATIVELY POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP???????
@@01wishiata76Not really because the viewer clearly has some distorted perception of Miku. She's probably trying to help out of worry, but the viewer is interpreting as love
we have an optimist here!
It kinda emphasizes that that part of the lyric is reality, while the rest of it is delulu land.
i feel like the song was actually hallucinated by the person behind the door, because once she opens it (assuming its a girl based on the lyrics) miku looks so normal
unless the lyrics is actually from the door-person which is more concerning and delusional
