The 05 s60 t5 already has the k24 turbo from the r, the R is just refined to have more power. Except a 2006 s60 t5 (although quite unknown) is up to R specification with boost and horsepower and because its lighter and doesnt have the drive train loss of an awd system it's actually faster than an R. Trust me, I speak from experience. So essentially an 06 t5 is basically a fwd R and the turbo system is pretty much identical. An R turbo upgrade would most likely work on an 05+ t5
@David Swan thats because what the guy stated above has lots of factual information but some incorrect information all s60 T5's made from 2005-2009 are essentially FWD s60r's BUT they use blue injectors rather than green's like the R and run a less aggressive factory tune only putting out 257hp versus the R's 300...if you swap green injectors in the T5 and tune it, it will walk all over the R every time even if both cars run the same tune. Not to mention the 05-09 s60 T5 has a stronger engine in comparison to the R...both have forged internals and the same head and cams but the Rs weak 2.5l block is prone to cracking at higher power outputs where as the T5s 2.4l block is significantly stronger and can handle way more power on a stock engine
@@lilkanethebig I don’t think Volvo expected the 2.5l block to have cylinder walls that were prone to cracking. Also while they can crack on stock car with stock power levels they usually crack when a car is modified and power is raised well above the factory level. Volvo more than likely gave the 5 cylinder a larger bore for the s60r just to be able to make more power easier. Sure they could’ve just raised the boost on the 2.4l t5 engine they were going to use for the facelift models but more displacement: quicker turbo spool up, more power easier, etc. Stock for stock the s60r is better theoretically due to awd, more power from factory, 4c map switching, interior options, paint options, etc but for someone who wants a car that they can make a lot of power on the stock drivetrain without having to worry about the major components failing the T5 is the better car to mod.
Can I just send my turbo to you and you do it and then send it back lol I can't find nobody here in Ohio to work on my Volvo. Nobody wants to upgrade my turbo at all

Did you measure the counterpressure in the manifold s60r ? Do you represent the volume of gases passing through the turbine?
