I literally do not know what the hell is going on in lecture, but then I watch your videos and everything makes sense
RELATABLE
So glad my videos are helpful and able to make up for not having a good professor
Watched so many ozonolysis videos, this one's the best so far!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a concise explanation. Are you a teacher or professor? Your teaching style is very effective.
Neither, I just teach how I wish I had been taught :)
Where you have been for the past 8 years? Really impressive and wonderful expression. Thank you very much.
Hanging out here on UA-cam! So happy to help!
Why does the sulfur from DMS attack an oxygen with one of its lone pairs? Don’t all the 3 oxygens have the electron pairs needed?
U made me fall in love with mechanisms
Yes! My secret mission has been accomplished! :)
@@Leah4sci yeah Leah i madly writing mechanism when i feel bored haha all because of u tqqqqq and love u ❤️❤️❤️
same lollll 😂
If only i had the money, i would have booked you a flight to attend my graduation Ceremony 🎉❤❤. I love your Work ma'am. Thank you so much
Wow, you're welcome! Congrats on graduation! That's a huge accomplishment. :)
you make every thing so simple thank youuu ❤❤
Glad to hear it!
You would not know how transformed I am organically after watching your videos!
Glad I could help?
@@Leah4sci How can I be having instant contact with you. May be thru social media or what whatever...I am preparing for my exams on thurs.. want to send likely questions so that we could solve together.Basically on the products of raections of alkenes and alkynes
Thank you for your brief but effective guide
You're very much welcome! :)
gosh! Finally i finished this playlist...! yohooo! Thanks a lot. You are too good :)
Hey Leah! thanks again for the awesome vids. Btw i am in orgche 2 undergrad and we did cover the O3/NaBH4 haha. Also you helped me get through orgche 1 last term, so thanks again!
You are so very welcome, happy to help!

9:39 The molozonide is shocked that it lost its positive formal charge.
hahaha
Your explanation is even better than Peter Sykes... Thanks a lot!!

Can ozonolysis reaction be used to differentiate between different alkenes
yes if you can get different types of products to be isolated and studied
This is one of very few reactions that breaks carbon carbon bonds
correct
"Most professors won't make you do this." My professor: And I took that personally.
Gotta love those Orgo professors... Haha.
waw great
Glad you like it!
Thank you so much.. ❤️❤️Happy New Year! May your days be filled with happiness, good health, and the continued success that you so rightfully deserve. #2k25
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉and thank you for your kind words

Would reacting an alkene with O3 followed by cleavage of the resulting ozonide using Zn + H2O be reducing or oxidising?
If you have specific questions on the reactions or mechanisms discussed in this video, I'd be happy to answer them. However, I don't offer tutoring over social media.
For help with questions like yours and more, I recommend joining the organic chemistry study hall. Details: leah4sci.com/join or contact me through my website leah4sci.com/contact/
Really helpful....... But mam..... What will happen with H2O2?....... And why zinc is used?..... Can you please help me...... And one more thing your voice is so sweet....
which part (timestamp) in the video are you referring to?
No actually I am from India and preparing for IIT JEE ADVANCE...... Actually I studied from a renowned book ( I can't write its name) that the reaction can be carried out with water vapors in presence of zinc dust..... Can you please help me about this.......?..... What is use of zinc dust..... Sorry but you have not mentioned it in the video.... It's an outside question....... Please help me mam......
@@swapnilsingh5788 I might be late but zn acts as reducing agent and h202 acts as oxidizing agent
@@anshulraina1819 Now it's okay bro 👍
U r late to reply
But not late in your preparation
@@swapnilsingh5788 😄 so how was your test? Not concerned just asking
so in oxidative conditions in a terminal alkene only one H is oxidized, is this correct?
correct
can u explain ozonloysis of alkynes???
That's a video I hope to make in the future! You can find my entire Alkyne Reactions video series and cheat sheet at leah4sci.com/alkyne

ich habe nicht gedacht, dass die Mech. so schwer ist. poaaaaah
Aber Vielen Dank für die Erklärung
bitte!
why does the negative charge oxygen reach out to the carbon double bond and not the other oxygen...
negative = more 'angry' and unstable and so = more likely to attack
What is use of zinc in ozonolysis of alkenes?.......... Please answer...........
I'm sorry, but I don't offer tutoring through UA-cam comments. For help with this and more, I recommend joining the organic chemistry study hall. Full details: leah4sci.com/join
Correction: Secondary alkenes form ketones.
Well, only if that secondary alkene is di-substituted on the same side of the double bond. The double bond will be cleaved in ozonolysis and, to get a ketone, we would need two substituents on the same side of that bond.
If you believe there is an error in this video, please send me the time stamp of the error and a short description to Leah4sci.com/contact. I'd be glad to issue a correction! Thank you.
I love you too much mam........
Thanks so much
Very cute
thanks!
It really makes you wonder how did people come up with this shit. I mean how much of the mechanism is actual fact and not just theory
Right! I believe all of this has been tested, studied and analyzed like crazy. I don't care for the lab work and prefer 'pen and paper chemistry' teaching the fruits of their research labor
what in da fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuq is going on ??!?!
