This comment helped me on an exam. I don't know how to thank you.
@@catnimmo9342 I'm glad to hear it. :)
Thank you so much for commenting. It makes me very happy that my goofy saying helped you on an exam.
Leah4Sci helped me so much when I took Organic Chemistry, so you have found an amazing resource.
I would encourage reaching out to her directly and signing up for her virtual study group. Being able to connect with other students studying this material was extremely helpful. I wish you the best in your Organic Chemistry endeavors for whatever you are studying. "Break a pencil" on all your exams too!!! ;)
haha thank you :)
Perfect to remember
I read this comment and have never forgot it
OMG this 11 minute vid is more precious than hours of lectures and other vids online
So glad to help!
By far the most useful video about these reactions I have found. Thanks a lot Leah. I tell everyone to watch your videos to gain a full understanding of what we're learning. you're awesome.
Melina Kanji hy
Glad it helped, and I really appreciate you helping spread the word
this video is so excellent. great summarization of an important chapter but still full of great info that i need to understand HOW these mechanisms work and why they react a certain way. thank you so much for this video
You are very welcome!
Thank you Leah! I just found this youtube video and it taught me all the alkyne reactions I needed to know in ten minutes!
You're very welcome!
How timely! We just finished talking about alkynes yesterday! Great video as always. This will be helpful for studying for finals next week!
Hey I know it's been six years, but I just came across your comment and was curious. How'd your finals go?
So glad this came at the right time for you
something important to note: for the syn metal additions, the added H's (or D's) will both be a dash or a wedge. youll end up with at least 2 stereoisomers in which the dashes turn to wedges and vice versa.
If stereoisomers are possible, yes
As great as this is, I really wish you had a series for all of the mechanisms like you do with alkenes. You've said it yourself over and over again, understanding the way something happens and why makes it easier to memorize later.
Morgan Saje she does have, but with her Study Hall access. Once you become member, you have tons of great stuff that she keeps there. I had semester pass and I don’t regret a penny I gave for the access. I am now retaking Orgo (took it for N/C past semester because I didn’t understand nothing after few first chapters) and I see all with different eyes, and a better brain. I wish my Professor was like Leah...
What @newyorker5010 said. I post to UA-cam when I can, but the Study Hall is my bread and butter so that is my priority
beautifully done! I understand these reactions much better now:)) Thank you so much for your videos!
You're very welcome, I'm so glad to help you understand!
i just wanna say thank you, your work is amazing and so helpful
You're very welcome, and thanks for your kind words!
AMAZING SUMMARY AND EXPLANATIONS! TWO THUMBS UP FOR YOU LEAH! LOVE, FROM KOREAN UNI STUDENT!
Thank you so much Nega Gozarani! Glad the video helped! All the best! :)
wow, completed all what my teacher taught, in 11 min.
Glad you enjoyed it!
just what I needed. thank you!
Glad this came at the right time!
The way that you present this information is beautiful. My professor, as great as he is, "Chalk Talks" everything, and his slide notes are not worth a dime. Therefore, I write everything in a notebook and it looks a huge mess. Your presentation is stunning and easy to follow, and I can make my own cheat sheets as practice for exams using your videos. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your kind words!
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Hey I know it's been four years, but how did your exams go?
wow, very helpful! THANKS!
You're welcome! Glad to help! :)
OMG JUST IN TIME FOR MY EXAM MONDAY!! THANK YOU SO MUCH LEAH!
Hey I know it's been six years, but how did your exam go!?

I really like the your channel , it is helping me a lot , thank you so much. Can you please please make a detailed mechanism video about Hydroboration-oxidation and Hydroboration- protonolysis ?
Glad you found it helpful, I have newer videos on these reactions
Thank you!

Very helpful video to review with!
Awesome, so glad to help!
I was about to give up.. thank you so much i understood it way better now
So glad this video helped you not to give up

This chick's taught me more than anything my professor gives or any videos he sends us to watch.
Not a chick, no feathers, but glad I could help.
Thanks ma'am it helps me a lot
I'm so happy to hear it!
THANKS VERY VERY MUCH .YOU given me a best idea to learn ,, is there any method for learning all of isomers and also for chemical properties in organic chemistry
ALL isomers? I don't have a method. In general though, practice, practice, practice
Wow you know your stuff. Covered everything my professor taught
Awesome! so glad to help
Amazing video very helpful for people like me studying in India as well

thank youuu
you're welcome :)
Wonder ful channel
Thanks so much!
My proffesor told us we aren't allowed to memorize we have to show how it works. He said we ask 3 questions: 1- what is being added (electrophile) 2. What is the regiochemistry (left or right) and 3. What is the stereochemistry?
Understanding is always better than memorization! This is only meant to be a quick summary. :)
@Leah great presentation of chemistry lecture using a combination of fade in and out and real-time equation writing(?). Just a genuine respect comment from another online lecturer
Thank you, I appreciate it 😀
So so so helpful especially when classes are all virtual atm😩 not sure if you could answer this but if 1-butyne reacted with NaNH2/CH2CH3BR would it produce cis-3-hexyne?
So glad it's helped you out!

hey thanks 4 all video i like it but can i ask U Q?................if we have double bond and -cl,br or any halogen atom ...we start numbring from the double bound or from halogen atom?
I have an entire series on naming here leah4sci.com/naming

I keep hearing about the quiz with alkynes, but I cannot find it. Could someone help me please?
That quiz hasn't been created yet. You can find all of my orgo resources using my free syllabus guide: leah4sci.com/syllabus
Can someone explain why an addition to create an alkyl halide always forms with halogens on same carbon (geminal rather than vicinal).
I assume you're talking about the hydrohalogenation reaction. It does produce a geminal dihalide when the reagent is in excess. The reason for this placement lies in the mechanism, which proceeds via a carbocation intermediate. A secondary carbocation is more stable than a primary one.
Since I have not made a UA-cam video on the alkyne hydrohalogenation, watch the following alkene reaction mechanism. And then imagine how it would happen TWICE for both of the pi bonds in an alkyne. ua-cam.com/video/gYOIQ0zTigQ/v-deo.html
For further help, I recommend joining the organic chemistry study hall. Details: leah4sci.com/join or contact me through my website leah4sci.com/contact/
GOD BLESS YOU
Thank you!
Alkyne reduction in presence of lialh4 what will be the product? Cis alkenes or trans alkene??
That reaction is not covered in this video because LiAlH4 is not primarily used to reduce alkynes. In fact, it will only do so if an alcohol group is nearby. LiAlH4 is used to reduce things like esters, carboxylic acids, and amides.
Thnx
You're welcome
Bravooo👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
thanks medam

Ugh I wish i saw this before I failed my exam. But at least I will be set for the final exam.
I'm so sorry about that. All the best on your final!
