Dr Paterson, I subscribed to your course on failure to launch. I think it is the perfect and most comprehensive recipe to deal with this extremely difficult problem that my family is going through at the moment with our son. I read and watched lots of videos about the issue, but many of which lacked practicality. Thank you for taking the time to put this course together
Thank you for your kind words. Although a course like mine can be illuminating, it unfortunately is seldom a complete solution. Consultation with a qualified healthcare professional with expertise in the situation can be useful. This fall I’m teaching a course for clinicians in dealing with families in this situation for PraxisCET. My hope is that this will make a small contribution to the availability of folks who can help.
@@RandyPaterson thank you for the comment. Unfortunately, where I live I hardly got anyone who would have a clear understanding or planning of what can be done. We were left stuck in the dance as you describe it, but as now I am applying the principles of the course, I think I am seeing some results. Nothing major, but what I would consider a positive change
People often state rules based on what they WISH was happening, and don't take action to ensure that that is what IS happening. Rules are aspirational rather than actual.

I can also recommend Mark McConville’s book Failure to Launch, which is addressed primarily to parents.
why dont these parents enforce the rules?
what is their thought processes?
