You'll never ever hear a dud note from John Farnham. And all those glorious recordings of his concert performances from the 80s? All before autotune was invented. Lung power, breath control, phrasing. - all epic. And just look at the distance from mic to his mouth.... And he can literally sing any genre. He's unique. Oct'24. UK. E ❤

Hey Mike 👋 😊❤ Great reaction, and thank you to Geoff/Jeff for the request. Fantastic pick for showing off John's amazing voice 👍
It doesn't matter what age he is, he just kills every song he does. He never loses that ability and passion for performing 😍
Good luck getting those videos unblocked. UA-cam is so odd with what it does and doesn't allow through... 🤔
Thanks mate, keep on keeping on. Take care 😊❤❤

I love this version of this iconic beautiful song. John’s powerful and angelic voice and powerful belts, passion and emotion adds that John Farnham stamp on a song. John made this his own and has been covered by so many artists, including Elvis Presley but I think this my favorite version. Keep up the great work you’re doing on this channel and keep the John reactions coming.

What a powerhouse our John has always been. Thank you for your reaction to yet another flawless Farnsey performance. I've always loved this song, but when I first heard John sing it so many years ago, this version of the song became my favourite. That seems to happen to me with every cover he does lol. John's covers of songs are amazing. He takes the song, gives it the Farnham twist, and makes it his own.

I saw someone react to John recently- a singing teacher/vocal coach I think who said that John was ahead of his time with his vocal runs. I hadn’t thought of that before but it’s definitely a fact. I really dislike singers that over use vocal runs ( I use to think of vocal gymnastics) to the point that you almost don’t recognise the song. John uses them just enough to really enhance his performance. This is one of my favourites, the power and control are phenomenal- how can someone have that much power and breath control 🤷‍♀️. He’s astounding.

The fact many Aussie's and Kiwi's show their love for you Mike is very simple..we love those who appreciate us and our nation's.
We do take to those who big note themselves and think too highly of themselves and belittle others...yes we are patriotic like most countries but we are also big enough to poke fun at ourselves and not take ourselves seriously..however both Australia and our beautiful New Zealand mates have stood beside America in 2 world wars and many other major conflicts..that is because we will not stand by when a mate is in trouble.
TY Mike I am truly happy your channel is doing so well and that your honestly enjoying our music both Aussie and New Zealand.

I really enjoy your reactions Mike. I know its hard to say new things about an artist you have reacted to many times. Trust me, I feel, when I comment, I run out of new things to say, so sometimes I don't comment for fear of sounding fake or seem like I have the same comment that I copy and paste. Although, sometimes I'm just tired and my brain doesn't think of anything to say. It just feels it, if that makes sense.. I love John singing this...❤❤

John still doesn’t know how great he is and he turned 75 on July 1st this year. He was probably 70 the last time I heard him sing and it wasn’t cancer that stopped him. It was COVID. I left the State John lives in before COVID and his State had some harsh shutdowns. The last one they had to stay home for 75 days I think. My children didn’t because they were all essential workers but I felt for those that did.
If you do not know much about Celine. How about Richard Marx? He is a huge John fan since he was a teen or Tom Jones?
Is that a Marines insignia on the wall behind you? Thank you.

Yes, John Farnham had a difficult time getting a record deal for his album Whispering Jack. Farnham's manager, Glenn Wheatley, mortgaged his home to raise the $150,000 needed to fund the album. Even after the album was released, radio stations were reluctant to play the lead single, "You're the Voice", due to Farnham's previous image as "Johnny Farnham. However, public demand for the song became overwhelming, and radio stations eventually relented. Whispering Jack was released in 1986 and became Farnham's comeback album, staying at the top of the charts for 27 weeks. It is the third-highest-selling album of all time in Australia and the highest-selling album by an Australian artist.

Putting a filter of some kind over the video is a good way to get around their copyright, be it a visual static snow effect filter or a shadow filter that dulls the video. Or make your own water mark that slightly obscures the video.

A bit about Aussie colloquialisms used by the very eloquent "long-winded bastard": Fair dinkum, ridgy didge and dinky di (pronounced dye) are interchangeable expressions which mean the genuine article based on the Aussie standard - a high bar indeed. You see, Aussies are the greatest bullshit artists in the world, so we can pick a bullshitter from a mile away.
So yeah, consider yourself a fair dinkum Aussie. I'm just sorry you couldn't watch the footy final (AFL Grand Final) with us today. My team won - go the Brisbane Lions! 🏉🏆
