I love Mahogany Bay! I went to Gumbilina Park and did the Macaws & Parrots excursion. It was great. If I get back there again, I'd like to spend the day at their beach & port, probably do the chair lift. ❤
We definitely want to go back to that beach again! It was great!!
We got to see some McCaws and parrots when we did that sloth excursion… but I (Kala) wouldn’t do it again personally, I hate seeing caged animals so I had a hard time with it.
We have been to many Caribbean ports but not Roatan. Our December cruise is stopping there and to be honest I wasn’t super excited for it (overall prefer Southern & Eastern ports) but this vlog changed that! I can’t decide if we want to see the sloths or do the zip line now!
As for the menu, definitely hard copy, even though normally I’m on the phone for everything. I just prefer the hard copy of the menu at dinner and it bugged me a bit Carnival has you using the phone. We asked for the hard menu several times on the Mardi Gras and half the time they would forget or we’d wait 15 min for them, in a way forcing you do use the phone.
Yeah, personally I kind of hate the scan menus… It’s nice to be on vacation and disconnect from your phone sometimes!
OMG I’m so happy that you’re excited to go to Roatan now! Check out some of the tours they have available… I think there is one of them that is zip lining and the sloth sanctuary, so you don’t need to choose between one or the other!
Viator has a lot of options too if you want to go outside the cruise excursions!
Another great video from my favourite cruise UA-camrs and the black thing in your beef wellington is probably a mushroom duxelle!
Thank you so much!!! 🫶🏼 We’re so glad you’re liking the vlogs!!
We figured it was a mushroom of some sort! Thanks for confirming!! 😄
Cocktails always taste better on a cruise . I’m going go look into that paradise Hotel looked awesome!
Always!! 🍹
I heard they plan to reopen that hotel some time this year which would be great because it was super cute. Very very remote but so cute and the beach is stunning!
We always love watching on Sunday night. Your sense of adventure is fun to watch. Y'all do things we'd never do!! 😂 what is your next cruise and when?? Thanks for all you do!
Awww thank you so much!!! 🫶🏼
Our next one is in May, we are taking our first Greek isles cruise out of Ravenna Italy over to Santorini, Mykonos, Athens and Croatia! We can’t wait we are so excited!!
Dining room dinners are slower paced because cruisers are meant to try multiple menu items so it gives you time to chew and swallow and enjoy!
It’s so true, we are always rushing around! We are supposed to be on vacation relaxing haha! But there’s just so much to do on these ships there’s no time to chew 😂😅
...Nice, your black Gandalf hat...what a fashionista. Love it.
Hahaha Ryan calls it my jack sparrow hat!
I love the sun but she doesn’t love me back… she’s making me wrinkle haha! Must hide from it at all costs now! ☀️ 🚫
I think you guys should try one of Carnivals old smaller ships. Simply because back in the 80s-90s Carnival was ahead of their time in Cruising and really paved the way for many cruise lines. Going on the Paradise, or Elation is like a “blast in the past” with the decor and overall design of the ship.
Someone else suggested this as well! We will definitely keep that in mind when we are booking our next carnival ship!! 🫶🏼
Me and my husband watch you as we are avid cruisers as well. We love your channel. ❤
Thank you so much!!! So glad you’re liking the videos!! Thanks for watching ♥️
Traditionally (in the UK) beef wellington has finely chopped mushroom in it which could be the black stuff in yours. Yum!
Thanks for the info!! That’s kind of what we figured it was! Ryan said it was delish!! 🤤
We loved the port area I lost my stanley at one of the shops but so much fun. We will be back there in Aug on the jubilee
Oh nooo those Stanley’s aren’t cheap!
Hope you have an even better time when you go back next!! Hope you enjoy the jubilee! 🍻
I saw that same cat when we were there!
No wayyyy!!! It’s a port cat maybe!?
@@ryanandkala It must be. I have a picture of it.
Next time in Roatan, I highly recommend Little French Key resort. Beautiful place with tons to do. Plus there's a sloth/monkey place right next door you can add on. We just went for our second time a few weeks ago on Celebration, and we love it.
We have heard that little French key is amazing. So we are definitely adding it to the list next time!! Thanks for the suggestion!! 🫶🏼
I have a question about booking that! Did you do thru carnival or did you buy it separately? If you bought it separately did you do it in person or online?
@@georgieee165 We booked it through a third party! We put the links in the description for you as well as the last sloth excursion we did on a previous visit! We booked it online ☀️🍻😎
@georgieee165 we booked it online. I believe Ryan has the link in the description!
We always try to book a local excursion company to support the locals when we can! 🫶🏼
@@ryanandkala did you see any for the little French key?
I love Mahogany Bay! So far as far as the Western Caribbean goes, it's my favorite. My husband and I love the free beach. Next time you and Kayla are on a Carnival cruise that goes there you should check it out. Also I think you two would like the Carnival Steakhouse. I'm not sure about Vegtarian/Gluten Free menus but you can always ask.
We loved mahogany bay too! We will definitely spend more time there next time!!
We haven’t done any specialty dining in carnival yet because the free options are sooooo good! But we definitely need to check it out next time as well!
Love your channel! I want to retire and do this… we love MB we always go to little French Keys!! Amazing
Thank you sooo much!! 🫶🏼
We need to check out the little French key next time!!!
Honestly if this could be a full time job for us we would happily do it! lol
Loving your jubilee cruise. We found you guys when you posted your first carnival cruise and very much enjoying this one. It's fun watching as you guys seem to love the same things we do. Exploring, drinking, pack bars, good and adventure. Hope to run into you in the future!
We’re so glad you enjoyed the videos!!
We hope to see you on board as well! Come say hello if you see us! ☺️
You guys lead quite a life! I enjoy your videos.... God bless!
😂 haha we sure do lol!
So glad you’re enjoying the videos!! 🫶🏼
@@ryanandkala Curious, do you guys have any type of basically, for lack of a better word, "normal" jobs or do you mostly travel? I am happy for you all either way!! Again, God bless!
@robh845 we sure do!! We both work full time! I am an executive assistant and Ryan works for the Canadian government
We travel during our allotted 3 week vacation and over holiday closures to maximize our ability to cruise!
@@ryanandkala Awesome, enjoy!
Btw, cruising is a favorite of ours as well…
The chair lifts my daughter is interested
They were great if you plan to go back and forth between the beach area and the port area a few times. I believe it was $15 for the day or less if you were a child.
They look like they’re comfortable too!
We didn’t try them this time!
Love this vids guys! Can’t wait to see the rest of this cruise. When will the Costa Maya and Cozumel vids be here? I’m excited!
Costa maya is already released for the Ryan and Kala members, the video will get released officially on Sunday! ♥️
So excited to see the beach you went to! We're booking an excursion that goes to that beach, so this really helps! Love this series; we're cruising on Jubilee later this year!
Woo hoo! You’re going to have an amazing time!!
The beach was great, nice blue water and soft sand! Just watch out for those pineapple kayaks hahaha 😂 🍍
Roatan is one of my all time favorite ports. Just a little research and you end up with awesome. It seems a little underrated in the general cruising forums etc. but I kinda feel like those folks think all there is to is the cruise port area. Heck that, there are amazing places to go. World class diving, amazing snorkeling right from the shore. I would actually love to go spend a week or two there one of these days. The soups in any venue on Carnival are like little hidden gems. I've never had a bad one and almost all are just gorgeous. If the Wellington was made traditionally, the black stuff is a mushroom duxelle, which is basically just finely chopped and cooked way down seasoned mushrooms. I won't eat beef on a cruise ship unless it's in the steak house. Totally spoiled rotten WY resident who is always disappointed. That said, I won't eat shrimp here at home, either lol
Agreed Roatan is amazing! We love it! Very underrated port!
Mahogany bay is my favorite port
It was so great! We hope to go back again soon!
The way my brother holds his utensils when eating the crab cake 😮😂.....
Hahaha, literally had to go rewatch that part to see… ya basically like he is holding a shovel isn’t it haha!
Ryan doesn’t mess around when it comes to food and drinks lol! 😂
@ryanandkala BTW I am Texan I thought yall were Texan. I look at one of your other vids.....ummmm not more wrong lolol. I used to live by Canada in NY. Close to Kingston, ON. That's the correct abbreviation right? Lol. Great vids BTW. Based on your vids wife and I will try jubilee!
@nellietuiasosopo5694 we are honoured to be be mistaken as Texans! We loved Texas it was awesome!
Oh you basically used to be our neighbour then if you were near Kingston! That’s like an hour ish from us!
Yay! You’re going to have an amazing time!
Thanks so much for watching!!! ♥️
Who specifically did you book this excursion through? We are going on the Jubilee in June and am definitely interested in mirroring your day in Roatan. Awesome video!!!!
Thank you so much! It was such a fun day, we put the link for the excursion in the description if you're interested!
My favorite port I've gone to was St Thomas Megan's Bay it was gorgeous crystal clear clean waters white sandy beaches. Royal Caribbean Cruise don't recall the name of ship it could of been oasis.
Yes agreed, we have been to Megan’s Bay! It was beautiful!! 🤩
We went there on the freedom!
Looks like you guys had a fantastic time in Roatan. What a fun trip! I guess we were on a different side when we went a few years ago.
Definitely like a real menu. Don't like carrying my phone all the time. You guys are awesome! Thank you for sharing your adventures! Happy Wednesday!!
Yes there’s 2 ports in Roatan we did the other side last time with Royal.
We had an amazing time!! Honestly that zipline was the coolest thing!
We also like the paper menus! It’s nice to be able to leave your phone in your pocket and disconnect when on vacation.
Thanks so much for watching and being a part of the membership! Hope you’re enjoying the early access to the videos!! 🫶🏼🥂
Great content as always guys 🇬🇧🇺🇲.
Doing the med on oasis in July we can't wait 😎 we have watched what seems like a million videos but have you any advice for us?. We are very well travelled but this is our first cruise.
Thanks so much!!!
Oasis is an amazing ship! You’re going to have a blast!!
We are actually doing our first Mediterranean cruise in May… so we will likely have more advice for on that kind of cruise for you after that.
Otherwise general first cruise advice is:
-try and book something mid ship if you’re concerned at all about motion
-if you have any motion issues the front desk has some anti nausea meds that really help and they’re free
-get some magnet hooks for your room so you can hang additional items and keep your floor space clear. The whole room is magnetic!
-book your embarkation time as soon as it opens (which is usually midnight ship time) so keep an eye out for that. That will ensure you get a nice early boarding time.
-join the Facebook group for your sailing date. A lot of helpful info in those groups usually
-as soon as you get on ship wifi book all your shows and experiences. They fill up very quickly!
We hope this helps!!
Have an amazing cruise!!! 🫶🏼
Thanks
Adios MF is my favorite drink…and will get u jacked up 😂😂
That drink doesn’t mess around haha! 😂
@@ryanandkala 🤣not at all…and it tastes so good
Love your videos. Going on the Celebration in January and your videos are so helpful. Can’t wait for the next one to hit. Thanks for all you do. Zak.
Thanks so much!! 🫶🏼
You’re going to have a blast on the celebration! Lee the cruise director is amazing!
Great video guys...
Thank you so much 🫶🏼
that zipline looks so fun! i don't mind either menu type tbh
It was absolutely incredible!! If you’re ever in Honduras we recommend it 100%
We are the same, but sometimes it’s nice to disconnect from the phones and use a regular menu!
I go to the Dining room specifically for the chocolate melting cake.. it’s our favorite! Do you all book any the time dining?
We usually book a set dining time because of Kalas celiac allergy. It just ensures we have the same waiter and don’t have to explain everything over and over.
That melting cake was 🔥🔥🔥
HIT LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE. IT COSTS NOTHING. THEY ARE THE BEST. LOVE YOU TWO. SO CHILL AND NOT PRETENTIOUS AT ALL. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Awwww thanks so much!! ♥️♥️
Doing my first cruise in May! Do you order the food as you go or all at once?
As you go :)
I pre order mine the night before usually, but only because of my food allergies
Hey guys...so i saw the same long nose fish at same spot you did at Paradise Beach....baracuda...
Omg no way!! Ohhhhhh barracuda!! 🎶
Wasn’t the water just stunning there??
@@ryanandkala loved it! It was very humid when we went though...
@scottfrom.scottandsheds it was very hot when we were there but thankfully the humidity hadn’t really set in yet!
@ryanandkala oh we had PLENTY of humidity. We did enjoy the pool tons more than the beach though. We looked for the guy with the kyak with the fruits but settled for the guy in front of Paradise Beach for Sheds pineapple cocktail
@scottfrom.scottandsheds haha that random kayak of pineapples was hilarious! Obviously not what Ryan expected to see when he came out of the water hahaha 😂
Get dat sun hat back on )
Right? After 35 the sun on your face is unacceptable 🤣
How many weeks a yr do you guy cruise?
We both get 3 weeks of paid vacation from work, so we use all these days for cruises. So usually 2-3 cruises per year, if we can work an extra cruise into a company shutdown we will - like this year we are doing one between Christmas and new years because it didn’t require us to take any additional time off.
@@ryanandkala we take 2 cruises a yr.(3 would be nice but can't make that work yet)
@flexxgym350 that’s amazing!! It’s so nice to do more than 1 vacation per year! Hope you get to 3 soon!!
Who did you book your excursion through on Mahogany Bay?
We booked it through a local shore excursion company. I believe Ryan linked the exact website in the video description!
duck madness
Love that you’re enjoying the special emojis!! Hope you’re also enjoying the early access to the video!! 🥂
🖐😎👍
Enjoy your early access!!! ♥️🍻
