  • This was our first and not our last time to Cayo Largo. This resort is great, food and drinks are good you will find what you need. the property is clean and well maintained. friendly staff really nothing to complained about. Keep in mind that this island is to relax as there not much to explore and not much culture to learn from. You can rent some scooter and ATV's, go on a Catamaran excursion like we did which is pretty awesome, go in the small town to get some gift and go visit the aquarium with sea turtle that was not open while we stayed. I'll be returning but at the Starfish soon I hope. let me know know if you have any recommendation.
    thanks for watching :)

    Great job on this man. They did a good job revamping this place right when I feared it would be abandoned. There this fall for sure.

      They did a great job in the rooms as well but probably need a bit of TLC in the washrooms. As for everything else it was perfect in my opinion. I’ll try to go back in July but maybe at the starfish 😎🏝️.
      Thanks for the feedback

    Nice resort, rooms are ok although they need fixing and updating, the beach is almost nonexistent, the pool is ok but hard to find shade around it not enough canopies. The food is ok and the staff are excellent and go out of their way. For the price it’s a good relaxing time as there are no trips and nothing to really do on the island

    Thank you! Question, beach chairs seemed very few, that is normally where I live on my vacation. Was it just the area you were in, there are more loungers somewhere?

      very few locations that's for sure but there was a cabana with extra chairs and umbrellas that you could ask a worker for them to bring it to you. Im not sure what's the inventory of chairs and unbrellas but they had some extras

    Great video! thank you...do they have any palapas on the beach? I can see from your video only a few
    blue umbrellas.Are they permanently there or do you have to carry/take them from the room /storage area. Looks to me that basically there is no escape from the sun if you want to stay on the beach whole day.
    What is your view on that subject? I can take umbrella with me going to the beach as long the umbrellas are available all the time .Can you rent one over there?? are the rooms renovated??? Any mosquitoes problems ?? Is the hotel sprayed /fumigated every night ?

    • @marcomillette4012
      @marcomillette4012  Рік тому +1

      permanent palapas but not many to choose from and there not big so not much shade on the beach. At the sirena beach you will find more palapas to choose from. There’s a shuttle that will take you to that beach for free. Drinks and food is also included on that beach.
      Rooms have been renovated but the washroom could use some TLC.
      No mosquitoes on our stay but keep in mind that we went there in December. They did not spray at all on our stay.
      Thanks for the feedback and if you have any other questions don’t hesitate 😎🏝️

    So many bungalows. Not one shot of the interior of the El Cayito, where the bartenders work their magic, just before supper. The real hub of the place. Also no acknowledgement of whether the beach was red or green flagged, for those who like to snorkel.

      I think u miss read the title of the video, it’s a resort tour. If u want a more schematic video I have a link at the end so u can watch it. As for the red, yellow n green flags everyday was deferent but u were better off at the Sirena beach. The el Cayito is where I was having my Spanish coffee in the morning. In another video of a lobby tour u can c it but my focus wasn’t on that specific location. Thanks for the feed back

      @@marcomillette4012 As far as snorkeling, the most interesting small reef is just 250 metres directly out to sea from the Chiringuito beach bar. At Playa Sirena, there is an interesting reef but it's a long daunting swim from the beach out to the navigation marker. Probably over 500 metres. The charms of Cayo largo are fine above water, but the whole world below the surface of the sea is part of Cayo Largo's charm. Why green flags are so important.

      @@studentjohn35 correct. I wish I would have been able to rent an ATV to explore more of the island but they were fully booked on three occasion. I really enjoyed to riff in from of the resort. I had two Osmo action cameras to capture some footage but both cameras took on some water. I must of put the batteries incorrectly in. I’ll probably b back in July but for now we r getting ready for our next trip. Thanks for the comment n watching. Hopefully next time I’ll b able to get some underwater footage n more of the landscape of the island

    good day! I've been there often in the past.. I have a question.. on the beach.. they changed the palapas.. they seem very small on the video.. do they offer enough shade?

    • @marcomillette4012
      @marcomillette4012  Рік тому +1

      I would say there good for two person. Depending on the time of year you go you will have more shade. We were there in December and the sun wasn’t as high as it would be in July so we had less shade

    Hello, I've stumbled upon your video, friend of mine is currently in Cuba, I warned him but despite my warnings, he went anyway. No juice, no soda no cereal, no eggs, no pasta...I did hear, you mention that food was brought in from Canada. So did you experience any shortages? Thanks for the awesome video 🌴🌴

    • @marcomillette4012
      @marcomillette4012  Рік тому +1

      not at all we had plenty to eat and drink. the only thing we ran out was some Cristal beer on the first day. yes 80% if not more of the product on the island comes from Canada. Theres was 5 flights per week from Canada going to the island, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and Halifax but I was told yesterday that the flights from Quebec and Halifax were cancel. That might be the reason why so much things are missing. I hope your friends are ok.

    Looks like a nice resort.. But too long of a walk to gst to the beach

    • @marcomillette4012
      @marcomillette4012  Рік тому

      Two minute walk if you're facing the beach like we were. From the lobby to the beach you're looking at 5 minutes. They did build the bungalows about 300 metres away from the beach not to destroy it back in 2000. The resort is clean, 80% of the food comes from Canada, they did some renovations to the resort but I feel like our room needed bit of TLC but still it wasn't a deal breaker. I will defiantly go back but many try the Star Fish next door from the memories.
      Thanks for watching !!!

      We were there in December of 2022 for our xmas getaway. The food was good but im not fussy and at the same time you're in another country so the expectation to eat like home is unlikely. I never had an issue with the cuban food.
      We will be going to the starfish which is next door to the memories in September. Ill be doing a comparison of the two resorts.
