Something I'd suggest touching on is magic buffs and dispels. TBC sees a marked increase from classic in the number of mobs that cast magic buffs on themselves, making them potentially dangerous and a timely dispel or purge smooths out these fights a good deal. Mages will also want to utilize Spellsteal to take these buffs, as they are usually very beneficial and can even drastically increase the mages dps. I haven't played TBC in almost 10 years but I remember mobs in Mechanar and Magisters' Terrace having extremely power buffs that mages can steal and help speed up the run considerably. Great videos. I honestly see ring of blood being almost undoable for a bit after release. Unless you're like the first people to it. It's going to be a nightmare racing to click and get your group the quest. And then even if you do if one of the random boners waiting around trying to start their quest happens to tag your groups mob first you're not getting credit and have to do it again. So those reading this learn from it. If another group gets the quest. Let them just kill it. Similar to Ring of Blood, but worse, is the Durnholde Thrall Escort quest. If someone starts the next part before everyone else, it triggers the escort and only 1 person in the group gets credit. You then have to run the entire dungeon again in order to get credit.
Oh wow, I'm being reminded of so much stuff I forgot about TBC. Escape from Durnholde jail quest. The rage when someone lets him out without checking if everyone is ready lol.
As a TBC veteran on private servers I completely forgot about stuff you mentioned here as I've been doing them all subconsciously. Good quality content for newer people to TBC
Some really good tips but I disagree a little about aldor/scryer. Pretty sure scryer shoulder enchant is better for elemental shaman and maybe also balance druids. Elemental shamans get 100% more damage on crits and 2 clearcasting casts for every crit so pretty sure scryer enchant is bis at all phases.
at 30% crit there is a huge diminshing return on crit to the point it aint worth having more. at wich point pure spellpower is better. in later phases its much easier getting to 30%. Also the trinket you get from that rep faction he mentions in the video is much better with Aldor (also a late phase thing, when isle of quel is realeased)
@@GowtuGames Yes long term diminishing returns is true. But in my opinion it is better to change out crit gems for crit and damage gems when you get there. It is the same ratio of crit/damage but you get the benefit of having more crit in early phases before you reach diminishing returns. Pretty sure the shaman diminishing return point is 40%, but you also get 13% crit from talents and totems so yeah. The SSO neck seems better for shaman with aldor, true. The neck isn't bis though. Also, even when you reach the point of diminishing returns for shaman, haste is better than damage I believe.
Hey mate you mentioned an addon called 'atlas quests'. One that allows you to see/find quest chains for dungeons. I can't find it online if you could flick a link or something that'd be awesome!

The mechanic of the ogres charging a raid member in gruuls lair is easily avoidable. You have a ranged marked with star or something sit on his ass far enough away to avoid the cleave and not too far as to make him charge. All ranged stack on star.
I went Scryer on my mage (that trinket was hard to pass up) and Aldor on my paladin. The differences are very small and won't matter unless you're a top progression group.
@@DrPluton Äh it dipends on the State the Game will be released, because for casters the scryer trinket is rly good since hit gems aren’t a thing till 2.1 so if the spellhitgems aren’t in game yet the trinket is insanely good, other than that the shoulder enchant min/maxing is more for the hc gamers
Sorry, but how would defense rating on a warlock (or any class for that matter) save you against shatter on Gruul? Can it crit or what? Afaik defense has no general damage reduction - only reduces your chance to be hit basically.
Just disregard that entire point in his list. It is so frickin insignificant that it really doesn't matter unless you plan on spending 10k+ gold on bum rushing your exalted from the AH. Normal play wont see you gaining enough of these items in a timely manner for the point to be considered a mistake.
Also the higher the defense skill is , less chance to get dismounted, so if you are tank and you have enough defense - there is a certain value depending on mobs level - you will never be dismounted by anything not even the pesky felboars.
as destro lock, ure gonna probably end up using the bloodgem much longer then u would have ever wanted...getting new gear in raids with hit is not that easy and using this shitty trinket will save your ballz usually, for example on mother shazrah i had to whip it out again, because of hit loss with shadow res gear on.....so as destro i didnt regret going scryers for one second, even the shoulder ench is good lategame, so you can keep some more crit while stacking haste alongside
26 AP 14 crit compared to either 10 AP 30 crit or 30 AP 10 crit. Same stat total but way easier to get. Caster one is slightly better (15SP 14crit on the sapph one, 18sp 10crit on the aldor) on the stat total but weighting probably makes up for it. Tank one is 16stam 100armor vs 15dodge 10def. Debatable but I think most tanks would probably take the def/dodge since crush cap is a thing in TBC. Healer one is 31HP 5mp5 vs 33HP 4mp5. Aldor one definitely better. So overall, nah they're about the same, Aldor one slightly better in some cases but definitely no one is gonna be farming Sapphiron every week trying to get bis enchants.
My Guild in TBC never had such problems and we had people that used their skills exclusively with the mouse and ran with arrow keys. The Rep part might be interesting for some, if this is not a private server exclusive... but people who need indepth tips about some basic game mechanics.. I think people lost more time watching the video than experiencing the NPC when playing themselve, fail once and adapt to the very obvious mechanic. Really not the "Worst" Mistakes. Choosing the Aldor/Scyr is important, because it's super expensive and time consuming to change it afterwards. But putting a shadowball into a spell reflect mob.. all you do is learn from this minor mistake and stop casting shadowballs into spell reflects. Non of this mistakes have a big relevents for being bad. You can do all the mistakes on the list (except choosing the right faction) takes less of your time than watching this video that tries to explain you why it's bad.
As usual, most of these 'guides' either come off as a bit elitist, or they are for hardcore individuals who absolutely need to squeeze the highest efficiency out of everything, no matter how insignificant it is. Even down to which faction you pick BARELY makes a difference.
LOL you think dps will hold off on AoE for the tank? As a classic tank, I can tell you right now, unless the community goes through a massive shift, we will see lots of dead mages/warlocks.

Exactly. When I ran it 13 years ago we used 1 priest and myself (shaman). I think we sometimes used a 3rd healer (pally). Point is you can't just fill up your group with priests.
Want to pick your brain on something. Say come tbc you save up 20 quest azeroth questing come the opening day u hand them in is that a good idea or not?
well speaking from someone who's been there thru every expansion (besides shadowlands) that idea of yours has always been an idea of alot of people's.. and it is viable, u could get like a quarter to a half of a lvl doing so if you truly want to do that (if we get progressive servers instead of transfers when tbc comes out that is) but it really isnt too time efficient cuz the xp that you get from azeroth quests are far lower then the xp from outland and the xp needed for each lvl is far higher. But one thing to note, the quests you turn in on that day will no longer be max lvl quests so you wont get double gold from the quest anymore, and it will take alot of time turning in each of those quests, and as i said, you probably get around a quarter to a half (if you are lucky) xp filled for the level after you turn all 20 quests in.. im leaning towards only around a quarter of the lvl cuz of the huge xp increase needed for 61. To some people it is worth it while others, it is not. so based on this info, you decide if it is a good idea still to do so.
Jesus Christ how did this dude stumble through BC lmao. I couldn't watch passed the part with the Ramparts "big pull". My dude you do not have to include those 3 off to the side, idk what you're talking about lol.
Shatar thing is right but... after all it didn't make a change. The most of the players got Zandalari rep exalted. So like me, i didnt care much about the shoulder enchant. The time you waste to farm aldor/scryer repitems in case of doing dungeons for the hc key and items later... well. Quests? definetly don't do them, like all the others but tk dungeons, definetly yes. Even if someone is not exalted with Zandalari, the more stat value of items you can farm and the time you didn't have to spend to farm for aldor/scryer is in all cases better. Just my opinion.
A guide made by an elitist made for hardcore people. Most guilds likely didn't deem it necessary back then to bring a priest because it simply didn't make enough of a difference anyway. With that said, shadow priest is likely going to be in every single raid anyway in classic.
On the one hand, sure, waiting a bit for Sha'tar seems like a good idea. On the other hand I know I'm gonna be farming Heroic Mechanar anyway for those tasty, tasty epic gems, so, y'know. Rep's not gonna be a real issue.
It is so insignificant, that it makes no sense to put it on a list like this. Half the crap here is not a 'mistake' and they barely make differences at the end of the day.
Not known yet but highly likely. Blizz released a survey about it(similar to the Shadowlands level squish survey), which is why people think its confirmed. Also, Blizzard said several times that if classic was successful they would make tbc. Blizz also recently updated the classic beta, setting up for something, but nobody knows what its for. If I had to guess, tbc beta will come in march/April 2021 and tbc will launch sometime between May and August 2021.
If these are the worst mistakes, then you really don't need to worry about anything, because a good portion of the crap on this list hardly matters apart from basic technical gameplay elements that apply to most versions of the game.
I'd be more worried about the giant robot stomping around hellfire than the silly boars.

How in the heck!?!? Rolling male draenei isnt on this list??

As a TBC veteran on private servers I completely forgot about stuff you mentioned here as I've been doing them all subconsciously.
Good quality content for newer people to TBC

It's hard to pay attention with that beautiful Fable music in the background lol.
Love the Fable soundtrack! You hyped for fable 4?
Bruh we're gonna have a fable 4?!
@@dantelundell9386 Hell yeah dude, Teaser trailer released already!
Scryer is superior for many caster types. Ele, boom, fire mage, destro lock
at 30% crit there is a huge diminshing return on crit to the point it aint worth having more. at wich point pure spellpower is better. in later phases its much easier getting to 30%.
@@5p0ngy I believe fire mages and destro locks prioritize damage over crit.
@@GowtuGames This is also why I thought pure spell damage would be better.

Hey mate you mentioned an addon called 'atlas quests'. One that allows you to see/find quest chains for dungeons. I can't find it online if you could flick a link or something that'd be awesome!
If you can't find it, you won't even gonna be able to install it, so just forget about it bro

The mechanic of the ogres charging a raid member in gruuls lair is easily avoidable. You have a ranged marked with star or something sit on his ass far enough away to avoid the cleave and not too far as to make him charge. All ranged stack on star.
There is always that hunter, who refuse to stack because he must shoot.

really looking foward for aldor/scryer rep for all classes. Never knew what is better to pick.
Scraldor
I’m all about the professor plums baby
I went Scryer on my mage (that trinket was hard to pass up) and Aldor on my paladin. The differences are very small and won't matter unless you're a top progression group.
@@DrPluton Äh it dipends on the State the Game will be released, because for casters the scryer trinket is rly good since hit gems aren’t a thing till 2.1 so if the spellhitgems aren’t in game yet the trinket is insanely good, other than that the shoulder enchant min/maxing is more for the hc gamers
i really like your tbc preparation vids! one question tho: whats with all the bird killing?
Sorry, but how would defense rating on a warlock (or any class for that matter) save you against shatter on Gruul? Can it crit or what? Afaik defense has no general damage reduction - only reduces your chance to be hit basically.
About point 1: you mention not to do any shatar quests before honored. What quests are these? Where are they located?
Just disregard that entire point in his list. It is so frickin insignificant that it really doesn't matter unless you plan on spending 10k+ gold on bum rushing your exalted from the AH.
Normal play wont see you gaining enough of these items in a timely manner for the point to be considered a mistake.
Also the higher the defense skill is , less chance to get dismounted, so if you are tank and you have enough defense - there is a certain value depending on mobs level - you will never be dismounted by anything not even the pesky felboars.
Scryer -> Aldor since you dont die from falling from the elevator
as destro lock, ure gonna probably end up using the bloodgem much longer then u would have ever wanted...getting new gear in raids with hit is not that easy and using this shitty trinket will save your ballz usually, for example on mother shazrah i had to whip it out again, because of hit loss with shadow res gear on.....so as destro i didnt regret going scryers for one second, even the shoulder ench is good lategame, so you can keep some more crit while stacking haste alongside
Do not give advice.... So terrible.
Subscribed for using Fable music, the theme that plays at the guild if I'm not mistaken.
It's also from the harry potter games. My childhood in a nutshell
Mistakes where made during this video, scryers is flatout better for most spell casters.
isnt the naxx shoulder enchant bis?
It is bis, yes.
For prot pallies and aoe my recommendation is usually to wait for one consecrate, and you can aoe just as the second consecrate goes out.
Wouldn't the extra crit be better for a warlock with ruin and chaotic skyfire diamond?
lol anyone else 1,000,000 more excited for this than shadowlands?
Yep me
Yeah anyone that hates garbage is more excited for tbc 🤣
As I always said to all the dead DPS on the ground and to myself included (i was a warlock too in tbc): If you cant handle agro, you shouldnt pull agro.
3:39 Quote: " _because let's be honest, if you're running out of mana, you're a bad healer_ ": This is a pretty over-simplistic view of healing... as there are a variety of factors at play... As a general rule of thumb, anything you do in WoW is always wrong. Unless you're having fun doing it.
Usually healers should go for aldor, spell casters scryer for the hit rating trinket.
Is scryer not better for warlocks?

How much do you have to dislike one mob to put it on a top 10 list?
Yo, you and WillE and doing a great job. Keep it up!
Jesus Christ how did this dude stumble through BC lmao.

i mean.. to be fair like 90% of the WOW community doesnt understand why backpeddling is bad and 70-80% of the community still clicks some spells lmao
@@bofasofa9399 back peddling isnt bad at all. Its essential as a tank. And keeps parry etc on your table. Also helps with positioning mobs
how can u not know this lmao
Shatar thing is right but... after all it didn't make a change. The most of the players got Zandalari rep exalted. So like me, i didnt care much about the shoulder enchant. The time you waste to farm aldor/scryer repitems in case of doing dungeons for the hc key and items later... well. Quests? definetly don't do them, like all the others but tk dungeons, definetly yes. Even if someone is not exalted with Zandalari, the more stat value of items you can farm and the time you didn't have to spend to farm for aldor/scryer is in all cases better. Just my opinion.
You can just fear or sap the adds in kara you do not require a priest at all.
A guide made by an elitist made for hardcore people. Most guilds likely didn't deem it necessary back then to bring a priest because it simply didn't make enough of a difference anyway. With that said, shadow priest is likely going to be in every single raid anyway in classic.
Is that fable music in the background.....¿¿¿
Mistake #1. Spending money on a subscription
Facts
On the one hand, sure, waiting a bit for Sha'tar seems like a good idea.
On the other hand I know I'm gonna be farming Heroic Mechanar anyway for those tasty, tasty epic gems, so, y'know. Rep's not gonna be a real issue.
It is so insignificant, that it makes no sense to put it on a list like this. Half the crap here is not a 'mistake' and they barely make differences at the end of the day.
Are they doing tbc classic?
Not known yet but highly likely. Blizz released a survey about it(similar to the Shadowlands level squish survey), which is why people think its confirmed. Also, Blizzard said several times that if classic was successful they would make tbc. Blizz also recently updated the classic beta, setting up for something, but nobody knows what its for. If I had to guess, tbc beta will come in march/April 2021 and tbc will launch sometime between May and August 2021.
