This Silo sounds like some experiment. I felt that way even before this episode, but the one thing that drove it home even more for me is the fact the different Silos have different versions of Romeo and Juliet story.
They may have veered off from the book and will have the silos on the moon or a different planet, with people from each state transported to the silo of their state, having their memories erased as much as possible. When there’s a rebellion they have to replenish the population and bring more people in, give them new “silo” memories so they fit in with those who lived through the rebellion. Or they could be on earth somewhere with the same scenario. I think the 50 silos represent the 50 states and are unique to the people in each state. That’s why the intro features a peach, and Georgia’s state shell. The main characters are in Silo 18, which is the Georgia state silo. I think Bernard, Juliette’s dad and judge Meadows were brought there as adults.
Bernard definitely knows about the outside sources of power just like Solo knows. I would assume it comes with the job of being the head of IT. Just like when he gets his lil signals on he his 18 fob. Where would that signal come from? Also, also flooding if mechanical is probably SOP. And why would you have that as an option knowing they could shut everything down. It’s because he knows there is a separate everything (food, comms, power, etc) for the vault in IT.
Well I can't give opinions like I do on From videos because I read these books but its still fun to hear your breakdown and thoughts on what you think may be going on. I can see all the gears turning! I've really enjoyed Steve Zahn's portrayal of Silo as well. And overall, its still been good for book readers too. Not everything is the same so we've had some surprises as well! I dont always get to watch the episodes right when they release, so I don't mind the delay on your videos. Half the time, I get other channels vids before I have a chance to watch, so they get skipped. C'est la vie
Thanks for the support. Glad you are enjoying it. Can’t wait to see where they are risking us. May listen to audible. What has been your favorite change.
IMO At this point Lukas should tell Bernard everything he has found out initially. Bernard knows most of the answers to the questions he asks Lukas. Why? It’s a test of whether he can he trust Lukas. If you look at from Bernard’s POV he doesn’t know who to trust. Both Meadows & Sims have betrayed him. I think Sims & Camille have long planned to replace Bernard as head of I.T. Bernard was aware but played Sims’s ambition. Camille especially. Predictions; 1. Solo is not who he says he is but 2. will medically help Juliette so she can 3. help him with the rising water that will eventually flood the Silo. 4. In order for Juliette to help Solo he’ll have to let her in the vault. Based on the water levels having risen in both silo 17 & 18 I think flooding was used as punishment. This show is ❤️🔥😎!!
@@lunacascade1125 that’s a real interesting post of his testing Lukas. If that is the case what is his end game with him? Would he promote him? And for sure “Solo” will help Julie he has no choice. I wonder if she will get into the vault. What you think?
@@thenewwatchersonthewall Benard already knew about the silo symatics & that Quinn had left letter behind. He wanted to test Lukas for truthfulness. That was the test. But what he doesn’t know is what the letter said as far as its code. That’s why he needs Lukas. Bernard may try to entice Lukas with a pardon from the mines and bribe him with a promotion, but ultimately Lukas is an expendable resource. I think Solo will have to let Juliette into the vault to stop the silo flooding. Solo will probably have a sort anxiety attack beforehand. He won’t want let her in but he will.
While I agree that solo has something wrong with him. But I think the one thing you guys are not considering about him is the fact that he has been alone for years and years. So he would be childish and a little crazy no matter who he is/was. Being in complete solitude for years and years would mess anyone up. If he was a child when it happened it would have stunted his mental growth.
We are going live on UA-cam on Wednesday for Silo and Thursday for Earth Abides.

Yes that is really interesting. What do you think is really happening?

Oh crap. Didn't realize episode 5 came out. Looks like I have that to watch tonight!
Oh yeah. What did you think did you like it.
@@thenewwatchersonthewallGreat episode! I had also been wondering about whether the dude in the mines was being tested to be his shadow

@@thenewwatchersonthewall definitely the charater of Meadows. I hope we get more about her, maybe in flashbacks.

We agree 100 percent. We were talking about that in our last video. He reminds of Victor from the show FROM.
I think all the silos are connected
