On the sustain: the bridge has a "sustain block" on the underside that is actually countersunk into the body slightly.
The neck also has an extra fret compared to most P's (21 total)
Pots should be CTS with a Switchcraft output jack, and Gotoh GB-10 tuners to top it all off.
That's correct, yes, I missed that. Certainly has better sustain than most basses of this weight class, so I guess it does it's job, and yes 21 frets with the overhang. Very much like that feature.

Well just a shade over 1000usd, I think it is very reasonable

I had a MIJ Fender Pbass reissue 62, completely anemic too , I give here a chance by changing the pickups, pots and cap and trying a few strings and now she sounds great ! Glad I waited because the quality of the build was way better than mexican ones or american ones ....
That’s something I’ve heard near all players who buy MIJ basses.
What pickups did you decide on?

@@hippoferd oh nice. I have a Yamaha pulser mij which after changing the loom the pickups don’t have much…, well they anemic lmao.
