Omg 27 minutes on squat bracing , what a treat love it thank you for sharing. Also found your deadlift brace video…. Pure gold. Can’t wait for your e books. I hope there’s a master deadlift bracing video down the line.
probably the best bracing video on youtube i've seen. nasal breathing was a game changer for my brace. one thing i've been doing lately is 1 set of leg raises (far from failure) before my squatting or deadlifting just to engage the core better.
In short: lengthen the posterior (pulling down the glutes and countering the lumbar extension), then shorten the anterior by simply lowering those ribs and driving your lats towards your obliques... you've become a barrel (rather than a straw)... but thanks Brenden, you added a lot to my awareness of this. "BRACE before breathing" - that really helped a lot! (I was trying to do at same time, definitely screws it up).
Thanks for the great video! I love to see someone breaking down every aspect of what I consider the hardest and most complicated of the three lifts. I was wondering if you or your clients have any experience using something like Bas Rutten’s O2 Trainer to train diaphragmatic breathing or think there could be any merit to it to strengthen bracing ability?
This series is so underrated - having both watched powerlifting content on YT and trained for a decade, you’re one of the best! TY Brendan!
Probably havent learned more about powerlifting techniques from any single other person than yourself over the past 5 years or so, thanks a ton!

Great penmanship. Not a lot of people write anymore LOL.
I tend to feel my core getting distended while lowering as I get close to the hole.
Thank You Brendan! #Erect 😂
👏🏾
Ok I braced totaly wrong lol
While I believe I perform both of the steps well, the order I do them in is reversed. I will be trying your way tonight.
