It is not complicated at all. They want you to think that. It is simple : Israeli Jews are free, all others are not free. We are under military occupation.
As a Palestinian, I hope and pray for a day where walls are broken and we live side by side with Israelis as brethren instead of enemies. We share a small piece of land, let’s share the love.

I think the everyday Palestinian or Israeli are genuinely kind and friendly. I've watched quite a lot of these type of interviews from both sides and they all want peace with each other but how to get rid of decades of hurt?
You're right! We are very friendly with one another and want peace! The problem is the extremists and terrorism on both sides. You will see Arabs and Israelis side by side in jerusalem, tel aviv, yaffo, haifa.. and the list goes on..

As an Israeli, I think that mentioning the wall without mentioning the dozens of suicide bombing attacked that happened in Israel before the establishments of the wall, attacks that killed more than 1000 of Israelis is portraying a very distorted picture of reality.
Imagine being afraid to go to the mall, restaurants or cafes, as suicide bombers occasionally blow themselves up in those places - this is exactly how my childhood looked like. After the formation of the wall the suicide attacked inside of Israel dropped significantly, so we should not apologize for that.

@@Leprecurseur1 I am describing the situation as it was and as it is right now - nothing can justify sending someone killing herself/himself in order to kill as many innocent people as possible, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are still involved in these type activities as their main strategy against Israel. A strategy that has proven to be devastating for the Palestinians in Gaza for instance.
Unfortunately Israel cannot pull out from the west bank, and the Palestinian authority probably doesn't want them to do so as well. According to all serious estimations as soon as Israel pulls out, Hamas will take over the west bank (30%-40 of the people there stated that they support Hamas, not the majority but remember Hamas is an armed and dangerous group), meaning the west bank could turn into a second Gaza or worse. Meaning Hamas will start firing rockets from the West Bank into Israel and attempt to send suicide bombers forcing Israel to return. If Israel leaves the Palestinian Authority will not last long, we all remember the civil war in Gaza in 2007 when Hamas threw PA officers off of roof tops right after Israel pulled out of there. Just ask Gazans about Hamas' treatment to minorities, christians, gays ect...

This is a wonderful and powerful video and I would love to meet Claire one day and support her business. Thank you for sharing this. It is through these dialogues and solidarity with one another that peace and justice will come. I have had beautiful experiences in many places in the Middle East, but as a tourist it is easy to be blinded by the way the government lets tourists experience a place, whether that's Israel or Syria or China or in the Kurdish provinces or American Native reservation. Real conversations with real people are how we can understand one another and build a better future in a better world. We are not our governments no matter how much they pretend to represent us all. I am honoured to know many Israeli Jews working day and night with their Arab neighbours to make a real change from the inside. Their refusal to be segregated is so powerful. Their insistence on being friends, peers and allies is so powerful. Racism and violence are alive and real in this world, but with every generation we have the chance to be better and stand together against those who wish to see us fall. Love and kindness always win, just as Claire said.

Thank you so much for this video what I see as the most important is to encourage people to study this fairly complicated topic more deeply on their own. There is so much misinformation and political propaganda on both sides unfortunately. People don't want to listen to each other. They don't want to see how similar they are no matter which side of the fence they live. They all want to feel safe and live decent life, they want to be respected and free. Not that it is an excuse, but some of their bad actions are, sadly, motivated by these wishes because they're not finding any better solution. My husband is an Israeli Palestinian, born on the "right" side of the wall but yet many times diminished by the Jewish Israelis. Well, honestly, those negative feelings are often mutual. For the sake of the half-palestinian that's growing in my belly I wish this hate to be replaced by understanding, listening and especially kindness following Clair's example.

The host of the guest house is not Palestinian but yet she still has issues with the IDF? How come?
