    Great collaboration between 2 channels I’ve been happily watching since the start of lockdown. Just a video collaboration with @DanielHibbertLawnExpert required on showing how the magic ends!

    Fantastic video. I have the same Mower & it was hunting.
    After draining the system I followed the Video & after stripping the Carb down it was full of creamy jelly like mush!
    I refilled with Esso 99 which I am led to believe does not contain Ethanol?
    Runing perfect now, thanks Mick.

    Awesome 👍 Great Explanation. I did the exact steps while mine was hunting as well. Had some fiber trash in the fuel filter - however certainly not as much to be the root cause.
    Eventually, I checked the spark-plug and it was all black. After cleaning this as well, it runs like a charm.
    NB: I'm certainly not an expert like you. at 21:00 I noted in my fuel tap, that this matter is actually grease. As far as I see it, whatever hangs there will not be able to be injected into the fuel circuit as it sits behind the sealing ring of the fuel system. Hence, i assume removing it, will only lead to a badly turning fuel tap.

      I had a fun couple of hours yesterday following your video step by step whilst working on cleaning the carb and fuel tap on my Allett Kensington Kawasaki FJ100 engine. I am delighted to report that afterward the engine started after a couple of pulls, and ran as sweet as a nut. No more hunting, just a sweet even burble from the engine. A superb video, thank you, and well done Mick, and Allett!

    Great video very informative 👌🏻
    I have the exact same mower and love it.
    Noticed last week it had started to hunt so after watching this video I decided mine needed some tlc. I have taken the carb off fully cleaned it same as you did including buying a set of the small pipe file things. Once cleaned I even blew it all out with the compressor.
    I have Changed the oil. Put brand new spark plug in gapped to 0.6mm as well as new air filter including new pre filter. Then when I started it. It ticks over great but when going to full revs it starts surging and popping. If I put the revs up slowly it will Rev fine but then as soon as I activate the drive it starts hunting and popping again. Put back to low revs and it ticks over lovely. Have you any ideas as I’ve even took carb apart again for a 2nd clean but no joy. Any help would be much appreciated 👍🏻

      Hi.. ok the carb may need to go into an sonic cleaner.. this can work wonders for a carb.. you can purchase one for cheap.. hope that helps

      Would you advise taking it completely apart or just take the bottom bowl off and Chuck it in?

    Good stuff Mick. This is a real interesting video, I was not aware Allett used Kawasaki engines.
    I have a new Kensington 20” that is really “hunting” real bad, I left petrol in the unit over the winter as I only received my mower in late September 2021. Bad luck for me. Fractured two green cogs on first use this spring! Not having a great run with the Allett nor do I feel particularly affectionate about the brand. Can you present a similar video with B&S engine so that I can address the issue myself. Thanks. Ciarán ☘️

      Hi fuel has a shelf live of approximately 30 days. You may want to look at our battery range the next time you upgrade - saves all the issues with engines!
      You will need to drain the engine of fuel and it should be fine once you have put new fuel in
      We recommend aspen fuel as it has a shelf life 10x as long. We recommend you drain the engine if you think you’re not going to be mowing again for a while - we’ve all done it where we’ve not realised our last cut would be the last cut at the end of autumn.
      In terms of the cogs what were you doing when you broke them?

    • @themowerman
      @themowerman 2 роки тому

      Hi mate .. if you have broken the two cogs you may be cutting too much grass in one go.. fuel wise allett are correct.. any fuel apart from fuel like aspin will start ti break down after 30days especially e10or e95.. so if you can get v power I would do that.. leaving fuel in the tank and carb over the winter will give you problems.. this video will help you going forward..

      Purchase an ultrasonic cleaner.. clean the carb first then stick it in the cleaner with a little white spirit.. 20 mins each side.. another clean and see it that helps .. I have more videos on my channel

    Hi Mick
    Thanks so much for a very informative and clear video. Following your instructions, I drained the fuel tank, removed the carb’ and squirted Pocket Rocket down every orifice. However there was a tremendous build up of ‘gunk’ and I was unable to remove the emulsion tube from the centre of the carb. I tried levering it free with a screwdriver but to no avail and dropped the carb onto a stone surface from a modest height, hoping that would free it but again no success. I’ve also squirted Pocket Rocket down the edges of the tube but once again it refused to budge. As I believe the emulsion tube holes will be blocked with gunk, I am anxious to clean them with the files I’ve purchased. Have you any suggestions how I can release the tube? Would welcome any suggestions or advice about this issue. Very best wishes, Bob Audsley, York

      Hi, Robert - did you manage to remove the emulsion tube? How did you do it, I have the same problem :(

    • @djhammo
      @djhammo Рік тому +1

      Success! FYI I continued to spray the Pocket Rocket and as strongly as I dare lever the emulsion tube, eventually, it loosed off and came out. Gentle and patient perseverance paid off.😀

    My Kawasaki 14k has the hunting issue. Looked at your excellent video on the stripping down of the carburettor, but was unable to remove the emulsion tube. I didn't want to use too much leverage with a screw driver to push the tube downwards, so assumed it was pressed in there for good. Any further tips on removal?
