Back in the day when you could watch late night Channel 4 and see some fucking amazing arty stuff. What happened to UK TV? It's just shitty american-style corporate garbage now.
I chose an eternity of this Like falling angels The world disappeared Laughing into the fire Is it always like this? Flesh and blood and the first kiss The first colors, the first kiss We writhed under a red light Voodoo smile, Siamese twins Girl at the window looks at me for an hour Then everything falls apart Broken inside me, it falls apart The walls and the ceiling move in time Push a blade into my hands Slowly up the stairs And into the room Is it always like this? Dancing in my pocket Worms eat my skin She glows and grows With arms outstretched Her legs around me In the morning I cried Leave me to die You won't remember my voice I walked away and grew old You never talk, we never smile I scream, you're nothing I don't need you any more You're nothing It fades and spins It fades and spins Sing out loud, we all die Laughing into the fire Is it always like this? Is it always like this? Is it always like this?
I remember watching this as a 15 year old like it was yesterday. Riverside was on BBC2 I think. Slightly more of an arts programme than a music show. Great suff. P💜
It was CH4 no? They used to have some amazing arts programmes late at night in the 80s. I think CH4 really created the foundations of who I am now. I was exposed to such WEIRDNESS and FABULOUSNESS.
Non conoscevo questa canzone e me ne sono innamorata follemente al primo ascolto! Straordinario anche il balletto! Grazie infinite per aver condiviso questo video! 😍🥰
I heard somewhere this was the last time Tolhurst played on drums before Andy came in. Can anyone confirm this? I always liked Tolhurst’s simplistic drumming.
This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on UA-cam. A true gem of performance art, music, dance, choreography, filming. Thank you.
I remember clearly watching this on tv! Pornography has a superb, angular, tormenting energy, my favourite Cure album
This is so intense, so pure and true
This is a literal treasure. They should archive this
I guess they have. Otherwise we could not watch it.
It has been archived. 🙂

A beautiful hidden gem. Great Ballet despite it not being my thing
This is deeply beautiful

Oh c'est magnifique , de plus j'adooore cette chanson. Merci Jerome Cousin 😎
I love this, fabulous dancers, musicians and of course Robert Smiths vocals.
Fourty years ago...
Great clip. And Steve severin of the Banshees on bass too
@W A all of the Banshees are practically deaf now, so Robert said in an interview. Lol
I was just telling myself "I know this Stingray bass and silhouette" :)
@@sootyfoot really, in wich interview?
Thank you for that info. I was wondering who was on bass since this was during the time Simon Gallup spent outside of the band.
That made me cry
This is so magical. It's exactly how I dance everytime I listen to this album. ☺️💙💙💙. Yes, I said album! ☺️
❤
I've always loved this song, and with Severen and Royal Ballet dancers live performance was R.S.'s Zenith IMO.
❤❤❤Gold
I love love love all of this.
And Lol is in the back, completely and utterly smoked out of his mind!
Very Pina Bausch meets Rudolf Nureyev in the Swan Lake but it works!

wow, makes me fly.
Increíble muchas gracias. Infinitas gracias. Muy bueno gracias 🇦🇷 ...
does anyone know if there is a cd physical copy of this with the violins? it's the best version
as far as I know, there isn't
show👫👏👏👏
When music had meaning!
It still does (If you choose to find it)
🙂

Is it always like this?
Can anyone explain the old woman who sits off to the side and then gets up and leaves?
what a richly varied career Stephen Beagley had....such a shame about the years of abuse leading to imprisonment.
Does anyone know if the lady in the chair leaving is suppose to symbolize something?
Smoking break
@@xsrrr smoking kills
I assumed it was an older version of the girl dancing looking back at herself and leaving in sorrow/disgust. A rather Pina Bausch touch.
The relationship of the man and woman, in dance form.
what do you mean?
I think that's pretty clear. If one is not brainwashed by the new religion
@@ExLibMachina thought you meant they were boyfriend/girlfriend
Ok. I just thought it's a beautiful demonstration of the ups and downs between men and women
@@ExLibMachina it is beautiful i agree, sadly the little old lady in the video seems to be part of that new religion you were talking about
...xxoo...

La mamie qui se casse avant la fin du morceau ! Ah ah! 😁

the only dance i ever liked
The old lady!? Is it Madge? Dame Edna's friend?
Actually prefer this version.
2 people's fingers are fat and accidentally hit the wrong button
fucking cheer up
k
Its a pitty this band ending so soon, after Pornography they were abducted by pop alien slaves.
Is it always like this?
Yes. Every single time. Without change or progress.
